I'll just add to the previous post that SweetDrops stevia is a very convenient form of all-stevia sweetener because it is a liquid: it comes in a bottle with an eye dropper. I buy it at my local herb shop. I don't know whether it's available online.

Hi all! It's my first post but I've been reading for a few months...I'm just a cyber-stalker! Actually, I imagine those who post are a bit like the tip of the iceberg, with loads more people taking inspiration underneath!
I wanted to comment on the weighing business. I haven't weighed since the doctor put me on the scales after about 6 weeks of dieting at the beginning of August. I know from the past (I've dieted so many, many times...) that I become obsessional, weighing constantly. I'll weigh first thing in the morning, then in the middle of the day and if I haven't lost weight between times I'll feel low and that will reduce my resolve and eventually I'll crack and eat. (And when I say eat I mean EAT!) I have decided to weigh after Christmas, which I hope will boost me when I see what I've lost since August and get me going again after the holidays. (I'm not intending to go mad, but I will have some of the food I enjoy, I want to eat like a thin person!) I think weighing is a very individual thing. I do get a bit jealous when people hit their mini weight targets as I don't have any thing like that to share, but I have clothes based aims and I avoid the "scale not moving low", I feel I'm thinner everyday and this keeps me motivated. |
Notmymama, welcome (belatedly!) Please don't think you can't do this, some of us started wayyyy above where you are now.
Everybody has there own solution. Last year I lost 6 stone just eating less and doing more, bit more protein, bit less carb and watch the portion size. I was scuppered by a run of very poor mental and physical health, a housemove and an operation. but am now in a place where I can start thinking healthy. I think the thing is ( and sorry if I am repeating others' advice!) we all have to find a way of dieting/exercising etc that allows for the fact the life gets in the way....You need to be nice to yourself not punish yourself with ahard regime because you think you "deserve" it for getting overweight in the first place. This website and this forum in particular is absolutely wonderful and soooooo supportive. Good luck. |
