Hi ! Welcome to 3FCs! :welcome3:

There is a section on this website called Diet Central where you can learn about various programs. You may also want to consult with your doctor in case you have any special dietary requirements. There is a lot of information about exercise on this website too in the Fitness section.

I happen to be a member of Weight Watchers. I like the program because it allows me a lot of flexibility; it is easier for me to live on this program day to day.

Browse around the website and read different postings in different threads. I bet you will find that you can relate to a lot of people here.

I want to wish you the best of luck. We are all here to cheer you on! :cheer:

Welcome to the boards! Doingmybest gave some awesome tips, and also, if you're up for group challenges, and being part of a team, there are loads of quests out there.

The chicks up for a challenge (I think I got that right) section of the support board is a great place, and then right here is good too. There's a Christmas challenge that anyone can join in. Just think of a good, obtainable amount of weight you would like to lose and put that as your goal when you join. We'd love to have ya over there.

Also, maybe journal for a day or two just to see what your normal caloric intake is. Make adjustments at that point, and if you have a nice place to walk. Go out, walk a bit and just move. You can also check out the TDEE.

Again welcome, and sorry if my post is a little out there. About to pass out. :o

When I first started out, all I did was spend a week or so writing down everything I ate/drank. I didn't change any of my habits, I just ate/drank what I normally would and wrote it down - no calorie tracking either, just what it was and how much I ate/drank. It was incredibly eye opening to see just how much I was eating, and how much soda I was drinking. To start my 'diet', I simply cut what I was eating in half. Eventually, I started focusing more on the quality of my food instead of the quantity, which is when I started loosely tracking calories/carbs/protein. As doingmybest said, there are a ton of diet ideas here if you're looking for more structure than that! Also, I have a Halloween challenge going that just started today if you're interested in a little extra motivation! You can find that over here. :) Good luck!
