    to the November exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process!

    In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month!

    In 2010 the 300+ club broke our 2009 record and exercised for over 250,000 minutes. I don't know if we'll break that record, but I do know exercise is a great way to keep on plan.

    We invite you to join us!

    To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing groupís minutes. If youíre new, look at what other people are doing Ė itís pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as
    Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes.

  • My goal this month shall be 2,000 minutes.

  • I lost my exercise momentum, so I'm restarting with a little goal: 500 minutes.

    Counting a little extra walking on campus on Monday and Tuesday, I'm starting the month with 52 minutes.

    Personal 52/500

    Group total: 60 + 52 = 112
  • 40 minute brisk walk with the dogs

    Personal Total - 60 + 40 = 100 minutes

    Group Total - 112 + 40 = 152 minutes
  • Okay, i'm going to try for 600 again.

    Adding the last two days, walking with dogs - approximately 40 mins, i'll time it tomorrow!

    Personal: 40/600

    Group: 112 + 40 = 152
  • 50 mins walking.

    Personal: 90/600

    Group: 152 + 50 = 202
  • 40 minute brisk walk with the dogs
    30 minutes AMT
    60 minutes personal training

    Personal Total - 100 + 130 = 230 minutes

    Group Total - 202 + 40 for fatmom and I posting at the same time yesterday + 130 = 372 minutes
  • 60 minutes hiking

    Personal Total - 230 + 60 = 290 minutes

    Group Total - 372 + 60 = 432 minutes
  • 25 minutes over last two days

    Personal 77/500

    Group total: 432 + 25 = 457
  • 60 minutes water aerobics

    Personal Total - 290 + 60 = 350 minutes

    Group Total - 457 + 60 = 517 minutes
  • I actually got to the gym yesterday! 30 min on the elliptical

    Group total ~ 517 + 30 = 547 min

    20 minutes walk in the arboretum today. Sure looks like November, but still a few things with color.

    Personal 97/500

    Group total: 547 + 20 = 567
  • And 35 min today!!

    Group total ~ 567 + 35 = 602 min
  • 60 minutes water aerobics
    60 minutes personal training

    Personal Total - 350 + 120 = 470 minutes

    Group Total - 602 + 120 = 722 minutes
  • Only 10 minutes, but I don't want to let a day go by without any intentional exercise, so I'll take this 10.

    Personal 107/500

    Group total: 722 + 10 = 732
