Not everyone has a "real" plateau. Actually, in my humble opinion, and my life experiences as a yo-yo dieter...an honest to goodness (prolonged) non-self-induced plateau is kind of rare.
Amazing! I guess not everyone is the same, but you have certainly given me hope! I love the science behind this program - I can't wait to start!

yup I hit a 3 week plateau in September after losing 30lbs. I got sick of it and got a personal trainer and started strength training. 3 weeks into it now and I'm down 5lbs! My trainer stated that usually (not everyone) you need to change up your exercise routine every 4-6 weeks because your body become accustomed to that exercise routine. Key is to keep pushing our limits and go as far as you can to break it, to work your body extra hard to break through that wall.

I lost 50 pounds the first 4 months OP but then it took me 8 months to lose the next 50. I still want to lose 50 more so I am looking for it to take at least another year, but that's okay. I found I can no longer diet, I must change my lifestyle or the weight will be back with some friends! I also just started exercising 2 months ago and my attitude has brightened. Never would I have thought I would enjoy exercising!

I have had plateaud, not self induced. I just plug along and thr weight just comes off when it wants . Sometimes a few at a times. Sometimes I wont lose for s few weeks and then have week where I'll lose a lot in one week. I don't worry about it. I just let it happen. However my trainer this week suggested I up my calories to 1500 and eat 5 times a day. She said eating less will cause plateaus. I'm willing and open to try. I have been averaging 10 poinds per month.
