everyone!

Not much time but wanted to say great job Ags, controlling that sodium and Learn, that's so cool you were able to reunite w/your old friends on FB and the chili contest Hope you like your New Doctor. The mammogram procedure has changed, they use a different machine that's more comfortable(at least here) but i know what you mean.Hope you can get that Ice cream into Mother

I'm busy all week w/party preparations for Aunts 90th birthday on Saturday Plus having to drive her and Mother around to handle their business too.I can't exercise like i have been but I'm very happy cause i see that i can eat healthy and hold my weight without so much exercise.

This is huge for me cause I've been afraid for so long that i had to exercise constantly But now i see that i can live my new lifestyle comfortably without stressing about my weight

Happy beautiful day,

Ink,
oh how I have missed you. I hope you find that better paying you are looking for. Is there a Costco near you, if so apply, the starting salary is great and if you have to work on a Sunday, time and a half, paid vacations, closed for all major holidays, which after your 90 evaluation, you are paid for those holidays and bonuses come along at a point with your years of service. Great benefits too.
Loved the pics of that handsome son of yours, I know you are one proud momma, as you should be!!!! Hey the family that plays together stays together!!!! Come back when you can!!!

Hello Maria, my long lost cyber daughter!!!! Glad you popped in. So aren't we just the cutest two you have ever seen!! hahahaha

Blanche,
now that you have been given the once over, let's get everything fixed and in good working order. Gotta keep you around, could not function without you!!!! Enjoy your visit with Mom and make sure you hide the ice cream good so you don't get caught!! lol lol lol Blanche, still waiting to see a pic of the new swimsuit. Put it on a hanger and take that pic girl, I wanna see!!!!

Lynn,
your positive thought for the day equals.....FAITH!!!!!
Enjoy your walk and make it fun fun fun!!!

Susan,
We miss you much, but I know life can be busy and time can surely fly by....remember my friend to take the time to rest and just BREATHE!!!!! Life is short.

Yes Ona,
you read right, I am yet again controlling the sodium intake with a vengence, sure hope this helps. Thanks for the shout out, it helps to keep me going!!!!
Now Auntie's 90th is Saturday, please don't forget to show the picture's of you in that dress!!!! I cannot not wait to see you in it, stunning you will be!!!!!

Today it is wonderful outside and I am home today to enjoy it. Silly me, I took two Tylenols, at least I thought that was what I took, well low and behold it was two Tylenols with codiene, need I say more. I could not wake up, therefore, home for the day.

I have a great dinner planned, lamb chops with a little Tezeki sauce (Greek yogurt dip, salad with homegrown tomatoes and cukes (not mine), and a baked potato. Wow, now I am hugry!!!! but I shall wait until the appropriate dinner time. And no salt added to anything at all!!!!

Pookie pies, that is it for now, gonna go and do some porch sittin' and let the breeze blow threw my hair and I feel I eyelids gettin heavy again. Gotta wake up!!! Gotta wake up!!!

Hugs love and blessings,
remember to make every moment count,
Ags

Morning All!

Ags- Please be careful, make sure you have your specs on when taking any kind of meds. That could have been a lot worse than it was. How was that porch sittin' yesterday? Wish I was there with ya baby!

Ona- I'm not sure if mammogram procedures have changed here. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Susan- Stop in when you can and I hope things slow down soon for you.

Lynn- Shopping at Bjs! Hope that pantry is stocked full of good healthy foods.

Yesterday didn't go as planned. After dropping my son off at school I ended up going straight home and crashing for several hours in bed. I took a Zrytec for my allergies believe it or not the night before and was so sleepy I wasn't sure about driving around running errands. So today my head is clear, I will drop my son off at school, go straight to the ankle/foot doctor and then on the way home stop in to visit mom and smuggle in some Werther's candy for her. No ice cream though, that will have to be next visit.
Still managed to stay POP yesterday. Ate well and got an hour in the pool with my son after school. My son is starting health this week and one of they're assignments is taking care of an egg. So last night I showed him how to remove the insides from the egg shell, which he thought was totally discusting and then he had to draw a face on the egg and name it. Coming up with a name was very easy. He named it after his Grandpa (my father)... Egon. Yes that was really my fathers name, he was german. As children we use to call my dad Egon Toast, so The eggs full name is... Egon T. Oast.

Most of you know that I photographed a wedding last month on the 17th. The bride and groom were together for over 20 years but did not marry due to the bride having MS and she would have lost her medicaid benefits if they married. When the groom was given a month to live due to cancer he insisted they marry so she could have his military benefits when he passed. The wedding was planned in a week and I was so honored to be a part of it. The groom (husband) succumbed to his cancer this morning around 5 am. He worked for my husband for several years and was a wonderful man. He will be deeply missed. If you all don't mind adding his new bride and they're 7 grown children to your prayers today I would greatly appreciate it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Hello again all!
Sorry to have been gone so long. I just spent an hour reading everything I missed, but honestly, I have a mind like a sieve and have forgotten most of what I read.

So, just a general congratulations to everyone, and keep up the good work.

Learn - I am sorry about your friend. My prayers are for the family.
Egon T. Oast? How's the ankle?
Ags - your dinner sounded yummy.

Lynnie: good for you and WTG on stocking up healthy foods.

Ona - hope the party's a smash!

Well, for myself, I have one huge thing to be grateful for. I've been under some serious stress lately because my 2 year old daughter has been having some severe issues at her caregiver's home. She goes all day with out eating or drinking anything (8+ hrs!), she cries hysterically when she needs to have her diaper changed, and she does nothing but sit on the couch all day. She doesn't interact with the other kids, and refuses to enter the kitchen area, even for snack time. She's been completely miserable at home, and makes a huge production in the morning about not going to the sitter's. She calls the sitter "bad", and clings to me for all she's worth. Now, in this area, there is a waiting list of 2 years to get into dayhomes, and good sitters are few and far between, even if they have openings. I need you all to understand that on top of these behaviours she's been showing, my DD sustained a neck injury last July, and has chronic whiplash. So she's in terrible pain a lot of the time, and can't participate in a lot of activities like a normal 2 yr old. We went through months of her not being able to turn her head (she still has very limited range) or look down, and if she overdoes it, she stiffens up again.
So my positive is this: I found the most wonderful babysitter in the world!. She is from my congregation, so I know her as a friend as well as a caregiver. She is a stay at home mom with two kids of her own. and she knows all about my DD's neck injury. She treats my DD like one of her own. She snuggles with her, reads to her, involves her in activities she can do. It's only been 3 days at the new place, and my daughter is already playing with the other kids. She is running (as well as she can), and has all kinds of energy when she comes home. She has no problem with "Auntie" changing her, and wants to go to auntie's in the morning. She's eating again, and drinking. The sitter doesn't push her, but encourages her. It's like I have a whole new child. I pray that this situation is forever!

Thanks for listening. See you all tomorrow! Stay POP!

Hello darlin's,

First I want to say, it have been a positively positive day!!!!!

Blanche,
I sure hope you made it to the doctor's today and made it to see Momma. Hope you did not get caught smuggling and they to detain you!!! hahahaha Egon T. Oast almost made me pee, you gotta stop this, you know I can't hold water!!!! lol lol lol
I will most assuredly keep the new bride and all the children in prayer.

Lynnie,
great job on all that healthy stuff and saving money to boot!!! Are you taking lessons from Susan or Dgramie???? You know they are the Queens!!!

Laura,
your post made me cry and then it made me shout. All I can say is, Thank God for the new "Auntie". It is a blessing when you have a trusted friend as a caregiver. I am looking for someone now for the two grandkids and I would prefer a someone loving that I already know with a Christian Background. Our babies have to safe. Thrilled you have that someone!!!!!

My positive thing about me today is............not only was I on TV for Costco but today I was featured in the Costco Wholesale Today Magazine and I was so surprised. Someone ( a member) took the time to write an article about me on how well they were treated my me. I was so pleased and surprised and excited too. People tell me how much they appreciate me at work but never has one ever taken the time to write a short article on me. Guess I am doing something right. I was appreciative to be appreciated!!!!

Well it is dinner time, one country rib, spinach, and sweet potato fries (baked) await me...................and I'm off! hahahahaha

Lots of love, hugs and blessings,
remember to make every moment count,
Ags

Positive action: I didn't know that susan and dgramie were queens of couponing. You learn something new everyday. I have a doctors appointment today so wish me luck.

Good Morning All!

Lynn- Much luck at your doctors appointment. Did you enjoy your alone time yesterday?

Ags- Doctors appointment went well. Stopped in to see Mom, but she was sleeping as wouldn't be woke up. I will see her on Mother's Day though.
Well aren't you just the Royal Queen of Costco. All hail the Queen!

Susan- Hello Darling!

Laura- I'm so glad your daughter is in a comfortable daycare situation. I'm sure you were very stressed by the whole thing.

O.K. I guess it's my turn...
Saw the ankle/foot specialist yesterday and as I thought I have achilles tendonitis. I also have tendonitis in my other foot (different tendon). They cast molds of my feet and will be making orthotic inserts for my shoes. They will be ready in a bout 2 weeks, at which then I will treat myself to new athletic shoes.

I have had a horrible time the last 2 days with sodium and this morning the scale leaped up 5.5 lbs. I'm so angry I did this to myself. I will regain control today and demand this water retention be gone. I've already written down everything I will allow myself to eat today and what needs to be prepared is done and waiting for me in the fridge.

Today is another appointment (mammogram). Time to get my boobies squeezed beyond recognition. UGH!

That's it for me, I'm going out into the world today and making it a POP day.
Who's with me?

To all - I am not good about participating in this thread, but be assured I am lurking the heck out of it.

Work has been ridicu-busy lately, as has personal life. Lots of events and being out the evenings/weekends. Lots of fun, but sometimes challenging, eating-wise, but I am very comfortable with how I'm handling it. It makes me feel good to know that I can go to parties and enjoy the social eating and drinking, while staying within budget on calories. It just requires careful planning for the day of (and the days before/after), but it is totally do-able.

Good Morning Chick-sters!

Learn - I am so with you. Today is definitely going to be a POP-ping day. You know it's just sodium, so don't be too stressed out by the numbers. Just get it in check. Take it easy on your ankles until you get your ortho's. How's the pool been? I am completely jealous. Hopefully today's test is not too uncomfortable!

Ags - Thanks for your comments. I really appreciate the fact that everyone on this site takes the time to read and care about each other. Especially you, since you are always so upbeat and positive. You always manage to boost my mood. And I love eating vicariously through you! Sometimes I positively drool when you describe your yummy dinners. Hope you find a nice place for the GK's. WTG with Costco! What a tremendous honor!

ilbnej - It's fantastic to hear that you are managing to have fun while still dieting. I think that that is everyone's ultimate goal. Keep up the great work!

Lynnie: Again, a beautiful daily thought. It gives me the drive to go do something big! I'm praying your dr's appt goes smoothly!

My positives so far this morning are: I avoided all the usual stops on my way to work, and I brought a healthy lunch with me. Managed to not overdo it last night when mom took me and DD out to supper. I have my leftovers for lunch. And I cheated and stepped on the scale this morning. Last Thursday I weighed in one day early and was down a whole bunch. But by Monday I was up again. So today I am pleased to report that the scale was the same as last Thursday. So I am officially counting that weight loss as weight lost, and not just water weight. But I will do my official wi tomorrow, and hopefully can be down a little bit more. I have a goal of being 267 by month's end.

Hope everyone has a fantastic day!

T.G.I.F.
OMG! I am looking forward to the weekend and doing almost nothing.

Laura- Yes, I know it's sodium, but seeing the scale just leap like that always shakes me up a bit. Not going to take it easy until the orthos come because I can't wear them when I do my walking exercise anyway. I walk in the pool all summer, rest assured I will be wearing them when not in the water. Gonna start wearing shoes in the house also. Usually the first thing I do when I get home is take off my shoes.
I have complete confidence in you that you'll reach your month end goal.

ilbnej- Glad to see you stopping in on the POSITIVE thread. Don't be such a stranger now, O.K.?

Lynn- Your allowed to be in a funky mood, at least you had the day to yourself so no one could piss you off. When I'm in a funky mood I'm best left alone.
Everything go O.K. with the doctor? I'm sure he/she is pleased with your weight loss.

Although I have been somewhat POP all week and exercised everyday I seem to be retaining water terribly. Scale is stuck up with an extra 5.5 lbs. I was extra careful yesterday and although the scale didn't go down, it didn't go up either. I'm kinda b*t*hy the last few days so I'm thinking it may be TOM preparing for his grand entrance early.
Pool exercises are going real well. I'm up to 45 minutes of walking, 200 stomach crunches and some resistance arm exercises with the dumbbells. All total an hour of exercise each day.
Had my mammogram yesterday and got the results back later in the afternoon. Results were negative, my boobs are fine. It was so humiliating though. I have been blessed with big bazookas and the tech always has so much trouble getting an image all on one film. She ended up doing each one in two parts. After I left there I called my husband upset at the whole experience and made him promise that when I reach my goal and the girls are still too huge and if I keep the weight off for a full year that I could have a breast reduction.
Well that's enough whinning for one morning. Gonna go gets some healthy grub and come home and do some healthy cooking and plan my meals for next week. Maybe try a new low carb recipe or two.

Have a great day. Let's POP it!

positive thought: Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow. Mary Anne Radmacher

positive action; Take my new medicine that I was prescribed for diabetes. Doctor told me to keep doing what I am doing and hopefully the diabetes will go away.

Everyone:
I hope you have a fabulous day!! Remember to smile!!!

Hi Learn ... I know exactly what you mean because that's what they do to me, too. I mostly worry about the extra radiation but they assure me it's not much (I never believe them.)
