300+ Weekly thread #1276
WELCOME We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support, inspiration, and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs. We want to invite everyone (roosters as well as chicks!) to join us in our journey. We share laughter and tears, heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations. We also share what works for us and what doesn't. We know the thread can move very quickly, and that people often make "personal" remarks and keep a number of conversations going. Please feel free to contribute even if you can't make personal comments all the time. Finally, we also have several extra threads going on simultaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, Photos, Exercise, Info for Getting Started and more. Many of these threads are stickied at the top of the page. Please feel free to check them all out. We have found this thread to be more than just a support group... we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us! |
morning all...I hope I did the new thread right..lol..I dont know how of if I can close the old one HEATHER HELP! lol
Last night I went to my friends about the Herbalife. I ordered their shakes and some protein and their Aloe juice. We also did facials..that was fun! My friends sister is the one who sells it and she has what I have. Her symptoms were way worse and she said they gradually got that way. She even started having high liver levels and no Dr could figure out why. She said she has been on it over a year and doesnt miss eating the way she use to. She said once in a while..speacial holidays or birthdays she will give in a little..but not a whole lot. We did my measurements! I have wanted to do that forever!!! My hips are the same as a year ago but my waist and bust have gone down. My BMI was at 54 and I think last night she said it was at 43...dont quote me lol I have to ask her again I forgot to write them down. The shakes were not bad actually. NOT AS GOOD AS A ENCHILADA lol but I liked them. The aloe juice was ok..its mango flavored BUT if it will help with my acid reflux i am fine with that. I will start it tomorrow since they are bringing me the stuff tonight. Since I am not doing it to lose weight..I will still have some normals foods lol. I will have yogurt..and cottage cheese...steamed veggies..and some canned fruits. I will also have chicken.. With her she felt better within a week..and now she doesnt eat greasy foods cause she knows what it does. I will keep yall posted on how I am doing. HOW IS EVERYONE TODAY????? |
Oooh Cyn I'd use it to lose weight as well as stopping the tummy problems! I hope it works for you.
Umm... I should be at the seaside but the car started making awful noises & smelling of 'metal on metal' 35-odd miles into our journey, so rang the AA & had to be towed home! Hubby took the car in this morning & it's hopefully fixed now, he just took it out for a run to 'double check' it's ok before we go. It's now 4pm on Monday now, we should have been there at 2pm Sunday! We're hoping to set off around six -cross your fingers for us! We were so upset, not just at missing our holiday but spending £600 & it not being fixed!!!! We felt sick but our boys were quite excited to be sitting in a big truck! lol We took them out for a curry to make it up to them. I'll miss you guys, hopefully I'll be online Sunday NOT BEFORE!!!! (unless the car packs up) xxxxx sharon psI'll be thinking of you whilst walking on the beach/sand dunes and I'll eat an ice cream cornet for you! lol |
I'm BACK FROM THE SEA....
Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! CYN- Losing inches and BMI points is great - sure hope your tummy behaves! SHARON - Hopefully, you are enjoying your holiday and not reading this - car trouble can be such a pain. ANNIE - Glad to know you are up and about a bit and hopefully on the road to a full recovery!!! We enjoyed our time with family but had a rather awful experience with the ship. I have always been able to get off the ships at every port in my wheelchair, but we had never been on a Carnival ship before. We went to get off the boat at Cozumel and found that my wide wheelchair would not fit down their narrow ramp. 7 handicapped people in wide wheelchairs, scooters or electric chairs could not go down the ramp. When we went to complain to guest services we were told the law required them to have a ramp not a wide ramp. We were virtual prisoners on the ship. They did refund our money for the excursions, but I was left on board with nothing to do (everything shuts down) while our family reunion continued on shore without me. They made us feel like it was our fault for being too big for the ramp. One young man was thin but in a big hover-round. His mom said if we had only known of this issue she could have brought a small wheelchair. I have sailed on 3 other cruiselines in the past 10 years and have been able to get off at every port. We had hoped to go on this boat again in December and Meet Carol, but we won't be on Carnival again. We still had a great time being with family. It just made me angry and sad. I did NOT resort to eating mounds of ice cream or pizza so I figure that was a victory. Glad to be home, Lindy |
Quick check in. The repairs to the condo are finished, and all our stuff has been moved back in. It is clogging every square inch. They must have packed every box half empty, or half full of packing stuff. I've got 3 weeks until school starts, so I've got my work cut out for me. I'll check in when I can.
|
Hello my Peeps!
Lindy, I'm so sorry the cruise wasn't accecssible. That just sucks. The good thing is that you didn't eat all the things that would make you feel worse or sabotage your progress. I'm glad you are back safe and sound!! Sharon, are you feeling better too? So sorry your car messed up. I hope you are on vacation and having fun now. Cyn, thanks for starting the Monday thread! I am hoping your new regime is going to help your tummy troubles. Catherine, you are ok!!! I was hoping to hear from you. Sorry about all your boxes and such. As soon as you find your sewing stuff and get that area set up, you'll be feeling better. That, and your desk-study area. I need to get my car serviced on Thursday for just an oil change. I can't afford the extended service right now. I hate being poor! I was on a plateau for over 6 weeks and then dropped 4-5 lbs quickly. I got a hormone dump too LOL. I've not been emo or anything, just, um... wishing for temporary male companionship LOL. Note I said temporary. Hugs to all, Ratkity |
Rat - temporary - I've heard you're not supposed to set them on the curb when you're done with them. Glad to hear the plateau broke!
Catherine - another sign of relief from me - missed you - thanks for stopping by. Cyn - I'm anxious to hear you feeling better soon! I hope this does the trick. Is DH home? Lindy - oh how unfortunate! I wonder when they changed - last time we were on the Legend they had ramps the entire width of the opening. Darnit anyway - I was looking forward to December! I want details - even though you didn't get off the ship - what all did you do? I've been POP since August 1 and not too shabby on the exercise front either - I'm gonna make the scale go down whether it wants to or not! |
morning ladies....
Catherine: Glad you posted..and hope the condo unpacking goes fast! Carol: Yes Hubby got home last night! YEAH!!! Sharon:I hate car troubles!!!!!! Rat: I could send my brother your way :)~ lol Lindy: OMG I am so sorry about the ship and you not getting to go on the excurtions. I have never been on a cruise and would love to one day. Going to keep that cruiseline in mind As for me: I got the herbalife last night. I am starting the aloe today..but i gotta get a blender. I have a magic bullet but when we tried using it at my friends it didnt make it right. Plus that little thing is so loud lol Today I am going to my reg Dr to get tested for diabetes just to make sure I dont have that. I am also going to get a referral to an endocrinologist on my side of town. The one i have been going to for a year is where we use to live..which is about 45 min away. I have today off work..and hubby is home..I think we may take a road trip later..it is so friggin HOT here! Suppose to be 113 UGH!! Someone take summer away please! HOPE ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY |
Helloo everyone..
send summer to me, its cold and rainy here since weeks :( Im so down at the moment..my scale keeps getting up/stay the same for 3 weeks now and it really bothers me.. I know I have not been cheating and worked out everyday.. so it really freaks me out.. :( I hate issues with cars aswell.. and Im sorry you couldnt leave the ship, that must be really frustrating.. Hugs, Anne :carrot: |
Cyn – looks like you did a GREAT job of starting the new thread. Well done! Good luck with Herbalife! Since it has worked so well for your friend’s sister, I hope it works well for you! Just remember that being healthy feels better than an enchilada tastes. ☺ Glad hubby is home, too. Good luck with the doctor stuff. {{{hugs}}}
Sharon – good luck with the car. That is so frustrating! Lindy – welcome back to dry land! You were stuck on the ship. Bummer. But, it’s a lot bigger than your bedroom!!! And good for you on not giving in to food to help you cope. I still have a rough time with that. Catherine – glad you are moved back in. Good luck getting ready for school! My husband and kids go back next week. I’m looking forward to it. They are not!! Rat – my husband is wishing desperately for me to have that problem! I seem to be having the opposite problem. Sigh. Glad your plateau broke, though!!! Carol – good for you!!! Looks like you are doing fabulous! Anne – you can have our summer, too!!! We are finally having cool evenings (in the 50’s) but the days are still in the high 80’s. So, air during the day, windows open at night. Needs to be about 10 degrees cooler during the day so we can just do windows open all the time! Give it time and stick with it. Stay on plan and the scale will suddenly drop. Your body gets stubborn sometimes and tries to hang on to fat. Show it you are in charge and you will win! I had orientation for my 7th grader tonight. New school. New teachers. New people. She doesn’t deal really well with new. But, we have a meeting with her entire team of teachers tomorrow morning and we walked her schedule tonight. We’ll get pictures and textbooks tomorrow. Then Thursday night is an ice cream social for my 4th grader. Love his teacher! Same school for another year for him. And, Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts and PTO are starting. Back into the school routine for the whole gang!!! It's been fun, though. People whom I haven't seen in a couple of months aren't recognizing me. Between the weight loss and cutting 12 inches of my hair off, I can't imagine why!!! :) |
Anne,
Don't give up!! I had weight loss surgery in Februrary and *I* have plateaus that drive me nuts. Last one was 8 weeks. I seem to go 6-8 weeks and then lose a little, and then do it again. My fat cells just don't want to let go! Of course, I am older and have thorougly messed up my metabolism with yo yo dieting. Just hang in there, ok? Hugs, Ratkity |
Hi all,
I am new this thread but you all seem like a fun group. I started WW June 20th and have lost 20 pounds. I have really done great but boy does it feel like it has been so much longer than 2 months (in 2 days). I a single mom to a 3 year old little girl and I work full time. Life is busy but fun. This weekend a friend and I are going to try Once A Month Cooking. We are also freezing things in small portions/serving sizes so hopefully that will help with staying on plan. However it is proving to be quite the undertaking. I hope you are all having a great week. Sharon: I hope you are enjoying a fabulous trip. Lindy: I'm glad you had fun with your family despite the frustrations. I how awesome that you did not turn to food. Catherine: Good luck getting settled. That is some real hard work but it is so rewarding when it is done. gggirls: Way to stay on program. Great job!! Cyn: I sympathize with your heat. Today is to be day 19 above 100 here. I am ready for some 80's. Anne: Hang in there. I am so wishing the scale would move on my timeframe but we have to remember if we keep doing what we are supposed to then the scale will go down!! (That note is for me too:-) Basketcase: Love the name! Congrats on loosing 100 pounds. I can't wait to be there. How are you doing it (beside staying busy with the kiddos)? |
:carrot:Good Evening Ladies--I'm revisiting after having been away about 6 years-I have posted a few times, but there are so many active threads, I am having a hard time keeping up with everyone. (still working on that)--today I found out I have lost 8.8 #s in the last 2plus wks--and 13.1 # since 7/26--going in the right direction now!!:carrot:feeling strong today and choosing to do "the next right thing"--just for today. I thank you all for your warm welcomes and I will be talking with you and getting to know each of you better ( I do not get very much computer time, but when I do I always find something here I need, and WE ALL DESERVE THIS! Take care--P:hug:

Welcome to the new ladies!!!!
Quick fly by this morning... Went to my reg Dr on Tuesday. She checked my blood work from Jan and does not think I have diabetes. She said she would recheck it, but that it would not do any good. We talked about my follow up to the GI Dr. She said she has patients that have taken Reglan with no problems. So if I choose to take that she could even prescribe it. I told her I was starting Herbalife. She said to be careful cause some people say soy should be avoided with thyroid problems. She asked how my crying was doing...so I cried LOL. She said I need to get to the underlying problem of why I cry alot. I told her it started when my grandparents died. She suggested counceling again for me. She is a really kind Dr..I sat in her office for 45min and she let me cry alot. LOL I am doing my herbalife shakes as sort of a snack. Not sure yet on the aloe juice. I dont care for the mango taste so we will see. Hope all have a good day... |
Good morning!
Cyn: It sounds like you have a great doctor. I love my doctor too. I went into his office a few years ago because I could not stop crying. He asked me how I was doing and just like you I cried. I have NEVER been like that. It was very strange to not be able to control it. But it prescribed me an antidepressant-Zoloft I think and within 2-3 weeks I was SOOOO much better. I stayed on them about 6-9 months and have not needed them since. It gave me that boost I needed to get better. I have also been on Reglan (and mom still takes it) and it does great for her. I figured out what foods irratate my IBS and avoid them so I don't need the reglan or prilosec anymore but man it was tough when I was in "in the middle" of all the pain. I hope you get to feeling better soon. It is no fun and can be SO overwhelming to not feel good. Hang in there! BTW, I don't think I said this before but congrats on the 70lbs lost! That is AWESOME! |
