300+ Awesomely Inspiring August Exercise Thread
WELCOME!!!! to the August exercise thread! We're making exercise a habit, giving ourselves some accountability, and getting healthier in the process! In this thread, we track the number of MINUTES we exercise for the month -- whether it's walking or swimming or sweaty housework! Most of us set goals for ourselves (I personally will not exercise much without a goal). If you are a goal-setter, early in the month set your own goal! If you're just getting started, feel free to start with a smaller number of minutes (I did!), maybe just a few hundred. It seems easier for many of us to build on the habit rather than meet a very high goal right away. However, you can also just jump right in without a goal, and you can join us anytime in the month! In 2009 the 300+ club broke our 2007 record and exercised for 216,854 minutes. I believe in 2010 we can break that record!! But it's going to take a lot of work from a lot of people to get it done! Please join us! To keep track, just add your minutes to the existing group’s minutes. If you’re new, look at what other people are doing – it’s pretty easy to figure out! To help everyone keep things straight, please note the OLD minutes and the number of NEW minutes you are adding, such as Group total ~ 500 + 50 = 550 minutes. I probably won't make my 1500 min goal for July, but I will do more than I do when I set a lower goal, so I am setting the same goal for August.

I'm in for 1395; my goal is 45 minutes a day, minimum. Very, very do-able and no excuses now! It's a public goal. :-)

Ok, since I'm not sure how I'm going to end July with, just wanted to let everyone know I'm in for August but I don't know for how much, I want to set a goal where I beat my July minutes.

Okay, I had 45 minutes today, 25 on the elliptical and 20 in the pool.
Personal Goal: 45/1395 Group Total: 120 Minutes |

30 minutes ski machine-1.12 m 20 minutes total resculpt upper August total:95 Group total:120 + 95=215 |
My goal is 1200. I have a good start with 120 min of walking.

Have not been able to meet goals this summer so far. So I'm going to try for a bare minimum, 300 minutes, just to do something instead of nothing this month. That's 10 minutes a day, not counting today.
