Thanks for the support!
Get n healthy, that is a great way to look at it. Losing 10 pounds 10 times seems less difficult than 100 pounds once! I want to make this summer a real good one for fitness, too. Winter can be a lousy time for weight loss (and a good time to put the pounds back on), so I really want to lay down the groundwork for healthy eating and being active. I plan on doing lots of hiking and canoeing this summer, so I think I'll be ok!
texscrapper, I think I was 150 when I was 10 or something
I was a fat kid since 4th grade. I remember getting fat and going to the nurse's office for our annual physical. She'd record our height, weight, and vision, and check for signs of different diseases. Everyone else was sharing what they weighed, and they weighed so much less than me, so when they asked me what my weight was, I lied
195 was my best for my "adult life" if you want to call it that. I was really into karate when I was 16-18 and I got really fit. I stalled out at 195, and then I went to college and stopped doing karate, which caused a little bit of weight gain. The killer was taking a job at a fast food restaurant.
My ultimate goal is 150... but if I get to say 170 and I look good and feel good, I might say, "sure, this is the weight for me." But I really would like to reach 150. It's kind of in the middle of the "healthy weight range" for my height and I've never known what it's like to be thin... and that's what I want to be!
