Default It Finally Happened...

...I hit 300 pounds. Actually more. I think at one point the scale read 302. I swore I would never let it get that far, I'd never break 300 pounds. I had a boyfriend back when I ballooned to 230 who told me he wouldn't consider me fat unless I hit 300. I thought it could never happen, but it did. Sigh.

I'm now on the rebound and down to 295, but it's a long way to go to 150. I remember being 195 pounds in high school and fitting into a size 14 for the first time and getting so excited. I wondered if I could ever get myself down to 150 and to single digit sizes. Now that seems so much farther away and almost an impossible dream!

But I'm determined to a least get back to 200 and then cruise on down to my ideal weight. I want to be half my size. I want to be able to hold up my size 26 jeans to my waist and look so small in comparison. I then want to throw them away (or perhaps donate them) and say "never again!" And I will! This time, I'm going to get it right!

It does seem like such a long road, i am about the same weight as you and for me, it helps to say, "I may not can lose 100 pounds, but i can lose 10 pounds ten times." Dont know why, but that makes it "doable". Good luck, lets do it together.

I'm in the same boat too - could not believe what the scale said!

I have never been 150 - even when I was active and athletic in high school, but I was 180 and healthy. I would just like to get close to the 200 range as well, maintain that, and then see if I want/need to go lower.

I know that we can do it - it just takes motivation, will power, and time. I didn't gain overnight, and i don't expect to lose it all overnight either.

Thanks for the support!

Get n healthy, that is a great way to look at it. Losing 10 pounds 10 times seems less difficult than 100 pounds once! I want to make this summer a real good one for fitness, too. Winter can be a lousy time for weight loss (and a good time to put the pounds back on), so I really want to lay down the groundwork for healthy eating and being active. I plan on doing lots of hiking and canoeing this summer, so I think I'll be ok!

texscrapper, I think I was 150 when I was 10 or something I was a fat kid since 4th grade. I remember getting fat and going to the nurse's office for our annual physical. She'd record our height, weight, and vision, and check for signs of different diseases. Everyone else was sharing what they weighed, and they weighed so much less than me, so when they asked me what my weight was, I lied 195 was my best for my "adult life" if you want to call it that. I was really into karate when I was 16-18 and I got really fit. I stalled out at 195, and then I went to college and stopped doing karate, which caused a little bit of weight gain. The killer was taking a job at a fast food restaurant.

My ultimate goal is 150... but if I get to say 170 and I look good and feel good, I might say, "sure, this is the weight for me." But I really would like to reach 150. It's kind of in the middle of the "healthy weight range" for my height and I've never known what it's like to be thin... and that's what I want to be!

I hit the same boat last weekend. I NEVER thought I'd balloon up past 260, than it was 270 and somehow I skipped the 280s and landed myself at 290.

Good for you for taking your control back. I look forward to seeing you around
