300+ And Getting Fit after 40 #260

  • This group is for those dealing with the challenges of being fit when you have a significant amount of weight to lose which becomes harder after age 40. If you're an old or new friend and not over 40 and feel this is the place to post, jump right in.
  • Wow, I never made it here this morning to start the new thread! Life is pretty busy!!
  • I had a good day yesterday lots of walking but high in sodium. THe scales are up today but I will be sure and watch sodium today and eat extra greens to help flush out the sodium. I was hoping my waterpill would keep the lbs off when eating to much sodium. My hands are puffy so I know it didnt really work.Im sure I will spend the day in the bathroom today.
  • Okay, so I set myself a very low goal for today and managed to succeed. YAY for me! I'm OMLP (on my limited plan)!

Ate a healthy breakfast at home and got 20 minutes of exercise in.

Tomorrow I'm going to do the same thing. Then I'll decide what's next.

Hope you flushed that salt out, DG.

    Hang tough, Heather.

  • Angela -- You hang tough too. We have SIX weeks left till the term is done. I am feeling so over now...
  • Angela: Good for you! What a great idea for getting back OP. They say success breeds success and you are on the way! Stick with it.

Deb: Good luck dumping the sodium related water gain. It usually takes me 2 or 3 days to drain it off. LOL

Heather you've had a busy, busy year. Bet you are glad the semester's coming to an end.

Things are still good here. I slipped a little yesterday but had the extra points to cover it.

Getting windy here. It's cool but the sun is shining.
  • Hi Ladies!!!

Stopping in quickly. I wish I had more time to chat these days. I'm running around crazy as usual. Work has been quite a handful lately..not to mention the kids, the hubby and the gym.

I did a walk last weekend for MS. It was 5 hilly miles in the rain. We did it in 1 hour and 15 minutes. I was pretty proud of myself!

My weight is still holding steady. I have been busting the exercise (nearly 2000 minutes in April) however I'm still not eating as perfectly as I need to.

Hubby is continuing to do great. He has lost about 40 pounds and is looking amazing!

Opps...time for a work conference call. Gotta run.

    and to all!

  • Whew! I lost the weight I gained 2 weeks ago. I'm OP and gong to do my best to stay there!

Barb: Great to see you're doing well. on the exercise! You sound busy, but happy. that's great!

I know it's nice out but there are a lot of folks who seem to be MIA.
COME OUT. COME OUT WHERE EVER YOU ARE!
  • Happy Saturday - popping in for a quick fly by. I'm still trying to adjust to changing my very well engrained plan by adding more calories and decreasing my exercise after the BMR testing. Seems it was an easy thing to STOP exercising not just decrease. It was also easy to increase the calories. Doesn't quite work that way - have to keep moving if calories are going up as suggested.

Driving to Alaska in less than 3 weeks with my nephew. I feel like a butterfly that has started to spread its wings - never would I have attempted this before - let alone do it. It's about 4,000 miles - it will be the trip of a lifetime. I hear the grizzlies are waking up and hungry - no camping if I can talk him out of it - that's a little too much adventure for me.

Have a great weekend - I need to post more!
  • I need to post more too, but things are picking up crazier than ever. May is likely to be a killer month for me, but then things should calm down...
  • STOP!!! Post on the new thread!!
