On Plan Emotional Eating?

Stress eating? Me? HA!

I'm really stressed out and avoiding doing some important stuff I need to do (studying!). I feel like it's making me have emotional eating urges!

I've been making an effort to make and eat 98% of my meals at home, from scratch, healthy and vegan.

So for breakfast today I had some home made "tamale pie" sorta dish. No oil added, vegan, homemade.

I soaked black beans last night, cooked them in the pressure cooker early this am and now they are married with carrots, zucchini, onions, garlic, peppers, cilantro, tomatillos, jalapenos, serranos, tomatoes, corn and many, many spices, layered between corn tortillas and baked. I ate a reasonable portion of this, less than 1 cup worth. An hour later, I ate 1/2 cup more of it.

Just now, I had cucumber slices (1/2 a cucumber), 120 calories of Seeded Dr. Kracker with nutritional yeast and 2 tsp. Earth Balance (margarine), 1 oz. of dark chocolate and 1 cup of unsweetened soy milk.

It's just past 'lunch' time and while I'm on plan with my calories, I just feel like I'm emotionally eating!

Help! I need grounding, kind words, commiseration, hugs, something!

Anyone else ever feel this way?

First off... Can you come cook at my house... that sounds delish!!!!!

(I am new here, so take what I say with a grain of salt....) I don't see anything wrong with getting you food cravings in with healthy alternatives. As long as your are portion controling, and staying within your calorie counts (or whatever you are measuring by)... It actually can help your metabolism to eat more frequently. I know we keep things like skinney cows, and angelfood cake, etc around the house to satisfy cravings.

Are you actually hungry when you eat or are you just eating because it sounds good?
