thanks! i'm sorta just gonna make up my own program but really do think it will take me the length of the conservative program to be able to run the whole thing.

I went and tried it out today just to see how hard it is and just wanted to tell you all what a difference 14 lbs can make! 14 lbs ago, i tried c25k and it really hurt my knees (ive always had bad knees) so i gave up. now when i run i actually feel bouncy! it was kind of fun! (in an omg im gonna die this is so hard to run kind of way) lol

I def. want to join! I was going to attempt the regular (8 or 9 week) one but honestly I am so out of shape and overweight I don't think I can really jog right now! Taking it slow sounds good!

My name is Liz btw. I am a full time mom and college student. I have 2 girls that are 3 and 5 and I have been married for 5.5 years. I feel like it is time for me to finally shed my baby weight (can't really call it that anymore though lol) and get healthy!

Welcome Liz! I'm not quite 300 myself but close to it. I'm trying to ease into the exercise since I haven't worked out in a couple months. It's amazing how a few short weeks of inactivity can set you back. Ready to get back to it though!

I over did last week but I'm feeling so much better. I got on the treadmill for 5 minutes last night just because I WANTED to. Today I did 12 minutes on the treadmill because I was really into the music I was listening to (Superchick and Beyonce). So, I've made some adjustments to my plan this week. I think I will really be able to this!!!!

Welcome, Kat and Liz!

Week 2
Tues - 12/10
Thurs - 0/15
Sat - 0/10
Sun - 0/15

I just found this thread and have been looking for a program and some buddies to spur me along. Mind if I hop in?

Not sure my knees will ever be able to run, but to walk/run a 5k is a goal of mine!

Hi, Jan! Nice to have you!

Hope you're feeling better, sachicko!

I'm glad things are going good for you, kathy. I can tell a definate difference when I'm listening to music and when I'm not. I can push myself more when I am.

I'm having serious fatigue problems today, but I'm going to push myself to get outside. The weather has turned out nicely, which is great. But i've got to get my house cleaned first. It's a disaster! lol

Hi Girls,
I'm getting ready to jump on the treadmill but I dont know what speed I'm suppose to start out at....any ideas? Do I do it at what I can do (usually around 2.5mph) or did I read somewhere on there that I'm suppose to do a mile in 10 minutes? Wouldnt that be around 4.0?

Thank you, Kelli for starting this post! That's so true about music. In fact I was playing wii Just Dance and over did it because I was having so much fun. I will take it easy tomorrow. In some ways the pain feels kind of good-- as long as it doesn't mess with my sleep or turn into a headache.

Jan, welcome! Jump on in!

Sachicko, I hope you feel better soon.

So, did everybody get in some kind of movin' today? What is your first month plan?

Well I got my walk in yesterday...it was tiring! It is so frustrating being so out of shape. I will get there if I just keep at it though...right?!

Absolutely, Liz! Good job!

Debbie, I walk at 1.2-1.4 because that's what I can comfortable do. You should start where you are for you. I would say any walking counts just to get started.

Thanks Kathy! I'm sort of excited to get started on this which is crazy because I'm just not an exercise person.

I hope to be running by July 4th because we have a 5K run in our town before our annual parade and have always been on the sidelines clapping for all the runners and admired them for their efforts. I would love to be one of those people out there!

Definatley start with what you can do, Debbie. The quickest route to giving up is to overdo it at first.

Keep goin Liz! You will be amazed at what you will be able to accomplish in a few months time.

I got my workout in today, even though i reeeaaalllllyyy didn't feel like it. And you know what? I feel better for it.

Don't forget, everyone, to warm up before your workout and do some stretching when you're done. That will keep some of the soreness at bay and it will help you keep movin!

Looks like several of us are aiming towards a 5K this summer. There is one here in March but that might be a little too soon for me. There is this really fun one called the "mud run" in Little Rock in October and I think i can run/jog it by then. You run through the woods through mud, and you get points for style as you enter the final mud pit. I think I'm going to do one before then, but my hope is that I'll be running that one and not be so self concious about my body in the wet clothes! Oh, and you get to wear your halloween costumes!
