Cheesecake

  • Need I say more? Really?

Last night I had tickets to a black tie affair given to me. It was at a local live theatre. It was a fundraiser for a kids' charity, plus dinner buffet and a performance of Me and My Girl.

Dinner was fine - I ate lean and clean, and was proud of the great choices I made to stay on track. But after the show, they announced a 'Death By Chocolate' dessert buffet was in the foyer on the way out. My wife and kid were in awe, and gorged themselves accordingly. As hard as I tried, I finally succombed to the decadent, beautiful cheesecake. Just had one piece mind you, but as it melted in my mouth I had visions of marrying that cheesecake. It was heavenly - yes - it was death by chocolate.

At the time it was worth it, but today I'll have to hit the gym a little harder to make up for it...
  • You did good!!!
Wow.... You had only one piece of it???
I am not sure I would be able to do such a thing...
I am so proud of you!!! and I am glad you tried it too or it would be haunting you for ever... Now it is past. And won’t take too much to get rid of that piece...

  • Congratulations on having just one piece. That is way better than having one piece of everything. Good for you.
  • Good for you for eating well at dinner, and restraining yourself at dessert. Cheesecake (at least for me) is like the Borg. Resistance is Futile. You will be assimilated.

So don't beat yourself up too much over it, the cake had an unfair advantage over you :P
  • ...mmmm...cheesecake...droooooooool...
  • Of all the desserts there, cheesecake was probably the one most balanced with protein and carbs (I won't mention the fats).

All in all you done good!

    Hugs,
    Ratkity
  • You probably did much better than I would have.... I probably wouldn't have been able to pass up that chocolate!!!
  • You had a dessert buffet and only had ONE SLICE?????? WOW!!!!!!!!!! You are my hero.

I don't usually miss carbs. Sigh.
