Scale?

  • Hi All,

I don't know if this is the right forum to post under, but where can I get a scale that can weigh someone close to (or over) 500 lbs? Someone near and dear to me has started "the journey" but would like to monitor her progress.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.
  • I don't believe that there is a home use scale out there that can... BUT you can go buy two scales that both weight up to 300 or 350 and then you put on foot on each.

I know this because at the beginning of my journey my scale only weighed up to 330 (and I was 376) so I bought another one so I could weigh and then just added up the numbers. It was amazingly accurate (corresponding to my hospital's scale)

Good luck to your friend!!! Tell her to join here too!
  • Try eBay. I bought a scale on eBay that weighs up to 440 lbs. Put scale in your search box and something might come up. Good luck!

Go to www.oldwillknott.com for bathroom scales. He's an eBay seller--I bought a scale from him around 4 years ago and it's still in good working order. =) (Sadly it's not telling me the weights I would like it to. ) I literally just left eBay and saw a scale that he has for $49.99 that will weigh up to 550 lbs. It's the same kind as mine but mine only goes up to 440 lbs. Don't worry about the fact that it's a talking scale--you can turn the voice off. I know that it seems like a lot of money--and I still think it is--but it really is worth it. I am only posting this link because I know that he's a good seller with good communication and he ships pretty quickly.
  • Oh yeah--this seller also offers free shipping so you don't have to worry about that expense.
  • Thank you so much for all of your help! I will definitely try the first method suggested first before opting to buy a new scale. Question to cfmama, did you have to use two of the exact same scale?
  • I used two completely different but reliable scales. I know they were reliable because I got my 220 lbs hubby to step on both and they both registered the same number.

It was a red letter day when I only needed ONE scale to weigh myself again!!!!!!!
