Morning ladies...
Quick fly by for me as I am running late! Anyone watch TBL??? I won't spoil it for anyone but lets just say it was interesting. I was sitting there watching it with my son and hubby..and I am not kidding I was having a hard time breathing when they were doing the challenge. I don't know what it was but its like I was holding my breth or something. Anyhow was weird. TOM is leaving today..I think.. I have his stuff packed! LOL Sooo hopefully tomorrow will dig in with what I have planned with exercise. Have a great day ladies!!! |
Hi all,
It has been a tiring week. TOM showed up Monday night, and right after came some kind of illness. My body aches a ton, and I had a fever last night (and a little this morning) but I am at work anyway. Eating is going fine, however exercise with my body feeling like this and just being tired has worked for me. I am hoping this passes soon so I can catch up on exercise. I got the bodybugg last night, but I wasn't even excited (probably because I felt like ****). I am wearing it today though, so we will see how it goes. My weight it up a pound this week, I am hoping it's just TOM. That's it for me. Angie |
Afternoon Ladies
Been for my meal and done my shopping now I am whacked. I am hoping that by some miracle that I get some energy and I will do my daily exercise later. I am afraid my food choices where not the best but I ate only a little of it rather than cleared the plate. Well back to eating health again now after my bad choices. One thing in my defense there is not really anything health on this menu but BIL did not have a lot of time today so this was the nearest place during his lunch break. voodoo1 I had the opportunity many years back to try yoghurt ice cream whilst working at the QMC. It was lovely just like soft vanilla ice cream I would never have known it had been made from yoghurt. I don't think they have it now. :( At least I have not seen it on visiting there on numerous occasions. Jacquie668 Sorry to hear that you are down in the dumps. Some times a good cry is what is needed to get it out of your system. It is horrid when you are run down and get one thing or another health wise. You feel that there is no end to feelin ill or just run down. I hope you start to feel better soon. I hope that you get approved for health insurance and get over your phobia of doctors. I may have been a nurse but I hate going to the doctors. Especially when I was over weight everything was blamed on my weight even the symptoms of my MS (before a kind doctor saw past the weight and saw the person). I have not been to the doctors since I have lost the weight (apart from to see the nurse for my flu jab). Even though I am more nearer a healthier weight I still see myself as much bigger and I am sure that any illness is going to be blamed on my weight. azcyn  I heard that the biggest loser had started. Not on UK television but I have read about it so know the basic idea of the shows format. Be nice if you can get some exercise in if the TOM has finished. Realist :getwell: I hope that you make a speedy recovery soon. I don't think having TOM will help either to the general well being. I am sure that the weight gain of a pound can easily be blamed on TOM. I know that you can gain a fair amount of weight during this part of your cycle. Going to go and finish my :coffee: before it gets cold. :wave:purpleorc  |
Sharon-Yep, I wear really thick glasses, with bifocals. I agree that it is nice to be able to put a face to a name.
|
Realist - My bodybugg will be here Friday... I ordered it last week. Let us know how your first few days with it go. Hopefully once you see it going you'll be able to get excited about it.
Everyone else - Thanks for the hello surprised a few of you remembered me even when I'm around I'm not the most talkative one. I've been great with getting my exercise back in I've alternated days with biking of my trainer with doing walk/jog intervals on the treadmill, but I'm having a beast of a time with the food aspect and it's got me really down. Its such a huge key to the puzzle i don't know why I'm having such a hard time when I did well with it in the recent past. For the first time I think I'm scared. I don't think I'll ever go back to over 300lbs, but I'm starting to already feel uncomfortable in my body again. |
Just a fly-by post since I am sick yet again. There is a nasty stomach bug that is going around, and apparently it was my turn to get it. Thankfully it didn't hit until early this afternoon, so I did at least have the chance to get my walking in today. If it doesn't subside by tomorrow.. well, we'll see how that goes.
Purpleorc asked what I did for a living to be called out at 4am. I am an office manager and victim advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. I take the crisis phone for one to two weeks each month (24/7 on call). I'm going to attempt personals tomorrow. Have a good night ladies. |

My fever is back tonight, so that is annoying. Oh well.

Hiya Peeps - here I am with another quick post. All good news today - less work drama, a date with DH and a movie, a great food day and tomorrow is WI day! What more could I ask. I didn't do a great job planning lunch today so ended up with a HC Cafe Steamer and 100 cal popcorn - not something I want to do every day but it reminded me how much I do enjoy the steamers.
And now I've got a big yellow lab and a lovey labradoodle who need some mom love - see you all tomorrow. Hugs |
Annie - Hope you were able to take the chill off yesterday. I had cold feet all day. And we have lovely freezing rain now. YUCK!
Purple & Debbie - I have found that gum helps me too. It is a new addiction! Like I need a new one eh? But much healthier as long as I keep up my dental hyigene! Good luck on finding your desired rings. DH got me an engagement ring for our 10th Anni back in October. Love it! Debi- Put your gum beside where you keep the little ones snack. Pop in a piece before serving up. Maybe that will help. You will have the kids back into routine by this time next week. LookingForMeAgain - Welcome. I know you will find a way to succeed! Go ahead and ramble we all do from time to time. Catherine - Love your new pic. You look fab! Val - great news on the job. I have been job hunting lately too. My home child care has been lagging in activity. If I dont get any new families soon I will be looking for care for my kids while I work outside the home. Sharon - Got my decorations down today! It is nice to have the living room back in order. UNCLUTTERED! Jacquie - A good cry always does me good to. Mind you I have to get over the crying headache. Praying that you get the approval! Cyn - I missed it and forgot to pvr TBL. Opps I will get caught up. Angie - How did day 1 of bodybugg go? Ah see your update this pm. Hope you 2 feel better soon. Idealmuse - I have seen you around on other threads. Glad you are here. Looking forward to getting to know you. Brandnew - Hope your feeling better. Heather - Its good to know that fear can be a motivator. I usually fall into letting it bury me. Carol - Go love up those pets. I will be for mine soon too. I went to the gym today for my first appt with the trainer. I purchased a 6 pk to get me started. DH will keep me motivated after that. It felt good. And now I just have to figure out how to count my reps and keep my timing on 2 up 4 down. Any tips? Got in the water and had great food choices. Have a great evening all! |
Today we went out ring shopping again and found the ones we wanted at Weisfield Jewelers. They aren't a set, but they look very similar. We won't get them for 11 days because they have to have them resized but I'm so glad we'll have wedding bands again.
So while we were out, that meant we were going to eat out. So at the food court in the mall, there was only the pizza place, the chinese place, McD's and the orange julius place. I picked orange julius and just got a relish dog and a smoothie. I'm hoping it was the lesser of all the evils. I did look at McD's to see if they had salads but no way. Then for dinner I just had a sandwich of swiss cheese and roast beef since Jim left for work right after we got home and I didn't have to fix dinner. I'm hoping I didn't do too much damage calorie wise. I don't know if you've heard, but northwest Washington is under water. We had all that snow and now it's melting and with the torrents of rain, we are flooded. The road coming in and going out of our place is partly under water and it's like a river running over it so we're hoping it doesn't wash it away, beings it's our only way in or out. The water is just below the wall line of my Dad's garage, and we're hoping that doesn't flood. I talked to the neighbors down the street, and he's lived here for 37 years, and says this is the worst he's ever seen it. All the culverts from everyones land seems to drain into ours, and the man on the other side of our property won't clean out his ditches, where ours is suppose to drain, per the county. So if you see a house floating away on the news, it might be us. The rivers are all close to or are at flood stage. I'm just praying the winds don't start up because with all this standing water, the ground so saturated, the trees will come up. Well, otherwise, things are fine here. I've gotten back to working on clay again and plan on getting out the beads for jewelry again too. That's been our day. How way yours? Debbie |
Hello folks.
Dropped by a bit later today as I was struggling to get going this morning. I need a good :kickbutt: to get me going. Still not the livest bunny going. I have a little bit of what my dog Rizzie is on. He seems to have boundless energy and it is not like he is a puppy at 10 years old. I am going to my parents tomorrow so more than likely will not be popping on. Though should get time at the weekend :carrot: Idealmuse "D day" approaches fast to the time when your bodybugg arrives that you ordered. You will have to fill us in how you do with it. Sorry to hear that you are having a struggle with food at the minute. Hang in there, I am sure that it will get better. brandnewme An admiral job you do there and so important. I wish that there was no need for such a role but afraid human nature can have a nasty streak. :getwell: I hope you feel better soon and make a speedy recovery. Realist Sorry to hear that you and your DH are both sick I do I hope you make a speedy recovery soon :getwell: I sympathise with your DH as I used to get bronchitis as regular as clockwork every winter 2 or 3 times a year and it was murder to shift it. JuliaHood It is so true that gum is a better addiction than to food. I have addictive traits in me or is that compulsive not sure which. I have conquered the addiction to nicotine but it is a hard battle with food. I am so fearful that I will slip up and go back to where I was. :goodluck: with starting with a trainer at the gym. I have never been to the gym I am ashamed to say :nono: Debbie54 Nice that you are going to get your rings again not many more days till they are altered. That is where my rings are at the moment being altered as they were way to big. Eating out can be a pain in the proverbial. Not alway many healthy choices and it is matter of going like you say the lesser of all the evils. I wish more places would do a healthy selection of food but they are few and far between. It is many fast food joints with like a zillion calories per bite  Sorry to hear about the serious threat of flood to your home. I really hope that your OK. That is the trouble with people who are careless and don't clean ditches etc. Act of God is one thing but neglect of a neighbours duties is another. Heather  gggirls Until very recently I had never heard of the name labradoodle for the breed of dog. Oh boy are they cute looking and I can see why people adore they. I would not be without my steamer also they are brillaint. They are wonderful for cooking vegetable and keeping the wonderful taste all locked in. Time to go and make a coffee. My mouth feels like sandpaper, the joys of my medication gives you chronic dry mouth ;) Till next time take care :wave:purpleorc  |
Purpleorc: Yeah I have this thing about people looking and touching me. It irks me when my friends go "a doctor is there to help, you need to go" and they sort of don't get it. I can't just go, the day I finally brave the doctor again I'm going to be terrified lol. It is just something I must overcome.
I remember when I had to go to the E.R. in 2006. I'm walking around, my legs are oozing and swollen, and I'm like "i'm so sorry about this" and the nurses just thought that was cute, me apologizing about my condition lol. :carrot: JuliaHood: I agree, a good cry is just needed sometimes. I just have had such a run of bad luck that I'm fed up and wanting a change. Getting all those feelings out just helped so much! lol. I feel a bit light now and not so "heavy" if that makes sense. *** I chopped off about 5 inches of dead, scraggly hair, and my hair looks better and feels actually thicker. It still needs some work, but there ya go. I have a theory about my scalp and I'm going to put it to the test while I wait for my insurance to go through. I have a feeling I won't get covered until the 1st of next month, which sucks, but oh well. lol I'm feeling tired lately and not very active. I think the approaching TOM as well as just being sick has taken its toll on me. So, I'm doing things to get my energy level back up. My positive side is sparkling and up and up. :D So, no more negative Jacquie lol. Working on various things, trying to sort out my diet. Increasing calorie intake and ditching yeastly things. Ditching soy a well... Weeeeeeee... |
Hi All,
Day 3 of my diet and all is well so far :) I haven't exercised because of my stupid back, but I could have found a remedy for that. No, not my sitting down exercise DVD, I've yet to try that. Instead I've taken an interest in a mini cycle. It's one of those sets of pedals that you put on the floor and sit on your bed or a sofa to use. I figure if I can get myself at the right angle I might be able to use it without pain. BUT even if I can't, it's designed to be put on a table too so you can use your arms not your legs. So that's bound to work off some calories. It only arrived today, and it's late so I'm tired. I'll have a turn on it tomorrow and let you know how I get on. Right now it's vege out on FaceBook time lol. Or on my Animal Crossing on the Wii. Take care all, Hugs, Ammi  |
Getting my exercise in yesterday helped.I slept much better last night.I am going to the dr today to see about my tummy issues. Im sure a med adjustment is needed. Having IBS and dieting can be hard. I love veggies and my tummy doesnt always apperciate them.
Kids are slowly getting back into a routine of being here and today im going to try and exercise with them here...wish me luck!!! Tommorow we are getting to keep our granddaughter for the 1st here. Her mom went back to work on monday and yd is keeping her on fridays and isnt up to doing it alone after having her teeth out this week. I wont be here posting...i will be holding my precious granddaughter!! hugs to all and drink your water!! |
Good Morning all,
Yesterday our phone went out and didn't get DSL again until late last night. Debbie: Hope you are okay hun. Lots of flooding going on here too. We are not flooded yet. Hugs and stay safe. Ammi: Welcome back. I am so proud of you for coming back. Happy New Year! That bike thing sounds like a very good option. Gool luck and hugs. Lookingforme: Welcome. You will get all of the encouragement and support you could ever want here. These ladies are amazing. Catherine: Hopey ou had a great time at the pool. Carol: Woo hoo to the kick butt land classes being back! Val: Sorry about Hershey but, it is best to stay a chocolate virgin all around! Sharon: Great job being op. Jacquie: I hope your insurance kicks in soon. Cyn: I loved TBL. I feel so badly for those young men. Angie: Hope you feel better soon. Becca: Feel better soon. Ideal: Keep after the exercise. You will get the food. Hang in there and just keep watching what you are putting into your mouth. Hugs. Julia: I finally got warm. Great job joining the gym with a personal trainer! Well, I'm off for now. Everyone stay op and drink your water. Blessings, Annie |
Hello ladies. :D
I would like to apologise for not being online this week. I have been feeling rubbish and down for months so I went to see a doctor on Monday to see if I have depression. I do so I am on tablets now. This is the first week I'm taking my tablets so it's making me feel yuck and I have had loads of headaches. I am feeling a bit better so I managed to come online. This is the third day of my diet and I have been totally OP although I haven't been using enough WW points because I was too sick to eat. :( I was brave enough to step on the scales on Monday and I am 238 lbs (17 stone). I can't believe that I've let myself get this big, especially at the age of 17  However, I am determined to keep on track of my diet, lose weight and be healthy! I won't be able to catch up on personals, sorry! :( I promise I will catch up once I'm feeling better. :) Much love Beth xx |
Just got back from my dr. My blood pressure was a bit low and my pulse was way to low. He said my meds need decreasing again. He is cutting me down to 20mg of my blood pressure med and said we may have to go even lower. I was on 100mg last jan!! He was so excited to see me step on the scales...he said most people are begging not to be weighed and i was excited to step on them. He said we may have to talk about my extra skin in a few months..i told him it was the least of my concerns. He said he has seen many people have bad skin infections as they lose weight. I have lost 86.4 pounds since dec of 07 according to his records. My scales just show 83 as of right now. I am so glad i got to actually see my dr and not the nurse practioner. He told me to keep it up!! He also increased my stomach pill to 4 times a day for a few weeks and then 3 times every day after that.
I even came home and caught an exercise show on our local cable channel and use weights with them for 30 min. Going to still get my walk video out later. I feel like i am accomplishing what i set out to do a year ago...improve my health..i dont ever think i will be skinny and have a sexy body...but i can get healthy !!! |
Purpleorc, we're doing ok but so many people south of us have lost everything. It's the worst event in over 20 years for alot of people but some just went thru it in 2006 and just barely recovered. It's very sad. I didn't do too bad on calories at the end of the day, I was only over by 100 but you're so right about each bite could be 1000s
Jacquie, hope you feel better soon. from a distance AmmiUK, ok, take a break from your games and Facebook and use that new toy for your legs!!! LOL glad you're on day 3 of OP! Debi, have fun cuddling with that little baby. That's great news on the doseage going down on your meds. Pretty soon you'll be completely off of them. So many benefits to losing this weight. I'll be so happy when the doc tells me we need to talk about the loose skin issues. It would be so wonderful to get rid of it all, but I don't know if our insurance will cover it unless it does become an issue. Annie, I hope we all make it thru this. They are saying it's historic on what's happening here. One poor lady lost her dog. I can't even imagine how she feels. Here she lost everything and her dog. So sad. Stay safe and warm. Beth, don't feel like you have to apologize for not posting hun. It's really ok and especially when you're feeling under the weather. I'm so proud of you for getting back to OP even going thru all your health issues. You're determined to get this weight off and that's a big motivator in of itself. Take care and I hope you feel better. You ladies will probably think I'm nuts, but Michaels is getting a bunch more of new beading items, mainly Swarovski crystals and I'm so excited I can't wait to get over there!!! I love all the sparklies, but I'm having trouble making the jewelry. I have a hard time designing things cuz sometimes the ol brain doesn't want to be creative, so I hoping with seeing all the new sparklies, I'll get inspired. Hope everyone is safe and warm Debbie |
Just a quickie everyone .. its been a busy couple of weeks so a flying update then will try and get back on the weekend to have a personal post to everyone
Oh first .. I hope all of you that are getting bugs of one kind or another get well soon, its icky being sick, especially when it gets in the way of your plansl Okee ... have decided against JC, the cost just couldnt be justified right now ,.. so back to plan B and just being careful . so far so good .. didnt put on any weight over Xmas/New Year (thank goodness!) and kept busy unpacking and reorganising the house for the extra days off that I had. Drama with my daughter this week, had to get her moved out of her flat and find her another one so the last 2 days I have been running around like a headless chook gettin that organised and we move her into her new place on Sunday night, with all the extra walking I did this week (not to mention climbing over fences!!!!!) my calf muscles are screaming at me now .. and its been soooo hot!! But its a cooler day today .. my daughter and I are going into town ... she will meet me after work and then we will come home together tonight. I will admit with the stresses of this last week I have almost constantly thought of chocolate ... but I have been very good and stuck to my one piece a day ... same time every day so that I dont question if I have had my daily allowance ... as for the rest of my diet .. its still not 100% but I am eating at least 2 times a day now lol .. and its mainly subway for lunch (wheat, no cheese and from the 6% menu only), breakfast is still a meal Im working on getting in lol .. but I honestly dont feel hungry Anyway .. gotta go find where i threw off my boots yesterday and get going or we will miss the bus Have a great Friday all (when you get to it lol) Edit - OMG .. just noticed I have gone under the 100 pounds left to lose!!! Now there is some more incentive .. dont want to see a triple figure to lose again!! |
Hi All,
Just a quicky to let you know that I am loving that mini bike. I wasn't able to sit in a position where I could do the cycling without pain, but I used it on my arms, and in just 30 revolutions I burnt off 1.6 cals LOL. I was just trying it out, not doing a work out, but it's so good to know I can do something to help me lose weight and not give me pain. Yay. I'll be back tomorrow and hopefully will do some personals. Hugs, Ammi  |
I survived my first water aerobics class in a month. The pool was open, but not the hot tub or handicap accessible locker room, so I had to brave the regular women's locker room. I can't take a shower in there, but it didn't kill me to wait until I got home. It's -20 and snowing outside, so himself arranged for us to have a ride home so I wouldn't trudge back through the snow to the bus stop with wet hair. I'm still cold, but I'm too tired to do anything but lounge under a blanket anyway. I'm sure I'll warm up around July.
|
Beth: Hugs to you hon on your depression. I'm so sorry that you are going through it. Your weight is just a number sweetie. I am sooo proud of you for doing something about it now and now waiting until you are my age to do it! Great job staying op!!!
Debi: I am so happy that you had a great Dr. appt. Woo hoo for lowering the blood pressure meds. I think you may just be coming off of them very soon!!! Debbie: Stay safe sweetie. WE are not having anything like you are over there. Hugs to you. I feel very bad about that lady that lost her home and her furbaby. I would be so lost without mine. Hug your furbabies everyone. Nightkat: Glad to see you back. Great job maintaining over the holidays. Congrats on only having 99 more to loose!!!!! Ammi: I'm so thrilled that you liked the bike thing. I have a friend that I met in the Group thereapy class on Tuesdays and she only does that for exercise. It can work if you stick with it. I know you can do it. Sorry it hurt your bootie though. That stinks. Catherine: Woo hoo for getting back to water aerobics. I am just hanging out. I am considering doing the Jillian Michael's "Back Side" DVD today but may wait for my DH. He says he wants to do them too. We shall see. lol. I tried to show him some things last night and he said he is too sore from snow shoveling. I will let him slide for a while but the snow is melting away pretty quickly and he won't be doing any shoveling for a while, at least until the next snow fall in a week or two. I made him roast beef and baked potatoes and brocoli and need to go get the taters out. I baked a few extra so I can do twice baked this weekend for him. I'm not much of a tater fan but I know Joel loves them. lol. Blessings all, Annie |
Ugh I keep snacking on all the "low cal" snack foods instead of veggies and fruits like I should be. I dont want them in the house b/c Ill overeat them but I dont want to not have them because Id much rather have 3 - 100 calorie sweets than 3 (or more) 250 calorie sweets like normal. If I dont have a better choice Ill find the bad stuff somewhere but when the "good" stuff is here Ill overeat it so its a toss up. I need to cut it down to one a day and eat veggies, fruit and maybe sugar free jello for snacks.
I have been getting in my water though anywhere from 4 - 9 bottles a day as a matter of fact. DH made baked fish last night and tonight both. Something new for us served with veggies. It was okay. Need to learn some new recipes. Just wanted to say hello again! |
So nice to see all the positive things going on here - lots of exercise, water and great OP days stacking up! The scales will be going down. Today was my WI for TBL - I was excited to post a 7.25 lb release (thanks Rat). I have never seen the scale move that much in one week in my whole life other than when it goes up. That is over half of what I gained during the holidays - I'm ready to be rid of the rest of it too.
I noticed something recently - I gained 13 pounds in 2 weeks and I feel my clothes being a bit snugger. In the past I could gain 50 pounds and not notice. I hope that means the body and mind are getting more in tune with each other. I bought some clothes online and they arrived today. It took DH and I both to manhandle the box - I can't wait to try them on - all for $60. I think it should get me through the summer - at least for non-work clothes. Included was a winter coat for next year - I really like it - at least it will give me some reason to look forward to winter next year. Keep up the great work - Carol |
Evening ladies... I have been cutting these chats short because LIFE has been busy for me!!
Debbie54: Be safe with all that flooding! ALSO I look at your stuff all the time online!!! DO you take special requests? Being that I am doing slumber parties shows I will really need some nice bling bling! dgramie:YEAh on getting some exercise done!! Being skinny is not all that it is cracked up to be..but healthy is!! Beth: Don't beat yourself up about your weight sweetie! Take it one day at a time! As for me I have 2 shows coming up for Slumber Parties that I am getting ready for!! Maybe this is my ticket outta my cubical at work that I sooo hate. TOM finally left..so in the AM exercise begins! |
Hi Chickies,
Nightkatt, glad to see you back! That's wonderful that you didn't gain weight over the holidays!! :woohoo: Ammi, work them arms!! Catherine, hope you got warmed up some. It sucks being cold!! Annie, did you do the "back side" DVD? Carol, WTG!!!! That's a really great losing all that weight in one week! Have fun trying on the new clothes. Cyn, I do take custom orders on clay. Haven't really had any on the jewelry but I'll give it a go. Just let me know what your looking for. I love a challenge!! Great that you're getting more parties. I hope you get lots so you can quit the "day" job! The rain has let up!!! We can see the road in and out again! Suppose to get some non rain/sunny days ahead. We gotta get to the dump. We haven't been able to get to out trash since before Christmas so you can imagine how much is heaped outside. Still OP, but forgot how many days it's been. Didn't get exercise in today though. Just not feeling it. I know, I gotta do it even if I don't feel it. hope everyone is having a great night Debbie |
We are getting rain here in NorthWest Montana also. Our basement was leaking a bit in one place but my husband went outside and repiled some snow, put a few boards against the house and moved an empty fuel tank and it helped. The boys no longer need a raft to sleep in. Not really, it just leaked a tiny bit. My older son didn't even turn off his precious computer which has wires all over the floor.
I went shopping today for pants. I went last month and was very disappointed so I went again with my xmas money from my mom in law. I went to squalmart and found two pair. Here is the shocker for me, I bought size 22! I have been wearing a pair of 28's but they are falling off and a different style and brand. They are more snug than most other times I have purchased but they are not gross tight. The next size up was a perfect fit but they wouldn't fit very long in my opinion. I got some with a little stretch so they will last longer and be more comfy. I have always avoided stretch as I was determined to not wear old lady clothes but they are cute pants and my husband said I looked hot in them. (That was the best part also!) |
Hi girls,
Drive by tonite. I've been back - full force - to working and I've been needing LOTS of sleep. This means I've been working and sleeping and eating well - but not exercising. My body's not happy about it. I'm getting on the bike tomorrow morning come heck or high water. Speaking of work - I have to get back to it. Cheers! |
Hi all,
I am feeling better, not 100%, but better. TOM is still here, but the cold thingy seems to be receding. I was able to get a good walk in today. I know I need to work out harder though. I will get this weight off. Period. Later guys, Angie |
TGIF!!!! I am so glad today is my last day of work.Kids have been extra wired and not listening. THey have spent time in time out which didnt even seem to phase them. Today is a new day and I will enjoy them even if they are wilder than usual. NOt getting grandbaby today, maybe another friday will work out better for them.
I will exercise today. I have to get busy ...food has been pretty good overall this week. Water has been great!! just slacking on the exercise part. hugs to all and lets move our bodies today!! |
Good Morning Everyone,

Hey ladies :hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:
I'm HAIR obsessed lol. Well, I have been looking at my hair, studying my hair, obsessing over my hair and yesterday I noticed in my normal part, which is wider now because I lost hair, there are like 50-100 spikey little hairs sticking up out of it! I also have shorter ones and a bit longer than that. Even in my bald spot there are these tiny hairs sticking out. I think that means HAIR GROWTH! :carrot::carrot::carrot: So, I'm excited about that. :D I also am trying something new for my scalp and for my Eczema problems. I'm using Coconut oil, which can be used as a replacement for soy butter and other oils, on my scalp, hair, and skin. Last night I did my first treatment and I think I put too much on because my hair is still oily, but it felt rather nice. I noticed throughout the night my scalp would ITCH then stop suddenly. Then ITCH, then stop suddenly. It is doing that now, itches, but not enough for me to scratch so I'm hoping this treatment works. I'll keep ya'll posted as I know there are other people here with some of the same problems. This treatment can be used on skin and such as well. Coconut oil, extra virgin (raw if you can find it), as well as Olive Oil can be used as an anti yeast and anti fungal moisture treatment. :D I'm feeling better, no more sicknesses and I swear I won't get what the family has. I have a family visit today, which is a bummer as I found out they are all sick again. I wish I could go in a plastic bubble or like one of those plastic balls hamsters use. I could roll around and what not and not be bothered! lol Hehe... I have some cooking to do today and some other things to do. Not much though. I hope you all are well! Thank you for the well wishes! I know I whine a lot! Just a rough period, but things are looking up! To those having struggles  and to those who just want to naked carrot dance :carrot:. |
Hello Ladies
Well my plans changed as the whist drive we normally go to on a Friday was cancelled due to illness so we did not go to my parents home. In around about way will be better as next Friday is Dad's birthday so we will see him on that day instead. We have had a guest come this morning for a flying visit. He was here for about 30 minutes I was in the process of cooking lunch as well so just slowed the whole process down until he went. It is always nice to see him we only made friends with him as he came to service my pull cord alarm system. Though it has been up graded now and it is no longer pull cord system. Now I have a pendant around my neck that I press when in trouble that in turn dials a number and I am then able to speak to them. It has a speaker type phone that is very sensitive so can hear you all over the home. It also has a fire alarm on the same system should that go off it will call the number as well and dial the emergency team who deal with it as appropriate. Went to bed early last night and had a good sleep that I really needed. Unfortunately it is TOM and it is making me extra tired. Oh well looks like it will be early to bed for the next few nights till I am back to normal. It was weight in day today which I do every Friday I think a combination of not being well and healthier eating has lost my excess weight put on over Christmas. Jacquie668 Good news about the regrowth of head hair. It is horrid for thinning patches for ladies it is much more readily accepted by men having thin hair. I bet it has made you feel slightly more confident and upbeat about things now something positive is happening. I know when my eczema was really bad and there was not a patch on my body that did not have it I was down in the dumps but when I saw improvement I felt so much happy and thinking yes it will end or at least be heaps better. It may not be any consolation I can tell you how I viewed people from a nursing perspective. To be honest we see many people different shapes, sizes, colours you names the differences there can be in people we come across them. To be honest all I saw was the medical issue and the person behind that. I love to chat so I was in my element with most clients. It was trying to sort out their medical problem that was the key not what they look like. ( I was thinking back to my time especially on a general ward) I am sure that you are not alone when it comes to having a phobia about being seen and touched. I am sure that many of us overweight ladies or gents for that matter feel that. Maybe if you tell your doctor how you feel he will give you reassurance that will give you a little confidence. I hated the dentists with a passion but I told them this and they are now brilliant with me. They go at my pace and I feel in control. I hope this helps a little. AmmiUK Great news on the diet front. I hope that the exercise cycle can be used in some shape. It so difficult when you have injured your back. I do not know if you are able to do any swimming or if that is too painful. Some find that the water supports them and are able to swim a few lengths or breadths of the pool. Maybe a visit to the library or video store you may find for rent a DVD on exercising in a wheelchair. You maybe able to do some if not all of the movements suggested to tide you over in the interim. dgramie I hope you soon get your issues with you tummy sorted it is such a balancing act with having IBS. I am sure that the added stress from your daughters forth coming wedding is attributing to some of the symptoms you are experiencing. I am sure the reduction in the other medication is a direct result of you losing the weight that is a good NSV to chalk up. I never thought of my loose skin at you point in my weight loss journey. It is only now that I think of it more and more. There is only one place that is bothering me more than others is my tummy. I am now starting to get two like flaps of skin/fat that are just laying on the other skin. I think it will come a point where I discuss it with the doctor. Whether my health care trust permits the corrective surgery is another matter. I still have big reservation due to the problems with healing etc and my comprised immune system. dogpal  I hope you are well at the minute. Settling back to work after a period of time off is difficult we get spoilt. I know what it was like for me when I used to work. Baz xo Sorry to hear that you are suffering from depression that is hard but at least you are on medication for that now. They take about 3 weeks to really start having positive affects on your mood. Don't be so hard on yourself about you weight the positive thing is your doing something about it. I didn't I just stuck my head in the sand and hoped it would magically go way. The more days on plan your able to string together they will have a positive effect on your weight. Debbie54 Yes flooding is devastating you lose everything. Friends of ours about 18 months ago lost everything in freak floods. They were out of their home for about 9 months (most homes here are brick or stone built) to dry out and be redecorated throughout. Floor boards and plaster has to come off the floor and walls due to contamination with sewerage. It is something I would not wish on anybody and they were elderly and way into there 70's A daughter of a friend of ours she makes jewelry from beads. She is like a kid in a candy shop when it comes to going to the craft or bead stalls. So I know how exciting you must be to see a new range. I have had quite a few necklaces from her that do not need fastening you just knot them at the front or magnetic ones. Nightkatt Great news about not putting on weight over Christmas period unlike me :o I have managed to lose it though with the aid of being unwell and healthy eating. Sounds like you have been one busy bunny or should I say Katt ;) with your daughter moving flats. There is always so much to do in these circumstances. Nice to see that 99lbs to lose rather than treble figures. I know what that was like and when the amount lost was more than the amount to lose was a satisfying moment also. CatherineM Oh it is such a same you did not have access to the disabled locker room for a shower etc. I hope you have thawed through with the freezing conditions and wet hair scenario. LookingForMeAgain It is initially hard changing your eating habits and changing to healthier ways. You may find if it is at all possible to make sure that these "naughties" are not in your home if that is where you are eating them. To ensure the snacks for 100 calories are easily accessible like apples, bananas etc. Take baby steps like I did just gradually improve your diet rather than beat yourself up for not doing it all at once. Some can do it all at once I was not one of those people and I need time to adjust to the new eating regime. gggirls Excellent weight loss for the week it shows what eating on plan does and what "naughty" foods do in such a short time. Nice that you have some clothes for the future to aim for I had items as well and they were nice to try them on every so often to see how I was doing. azcyn Glad TOM has eventually left I am sure that you have given it to me ;) Life is like that sometimes runs at 90mph and it is hard to get things done. ToniLight :bravo: on getting into those 22 pants shows how you hard work is paying off. Another NSV to chalk up and another milestone in your weight loss journey. NuevaVida  I see that me and you are best buddy when it comes to sleeping at the minute I am sure I could do it on a clothes line  I hope your able to fit in some exercise into the equation unlike me at the minute. Realist Glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better if next yet at 100%. Right must go and make my coffee :coffee: I did start but ended up with not enough water in the kettle for me. Not sure what planet I am on but it is very rare I do not get the right amount of water in the kettle to make to mugs of drink. So I bid you goodbye till next time ladies and take care. |
I am so far behind with personals I can't believe it - being back in my full blown work and exercise routine sure puts a damper on personals.
Annie - I so understand scale envy - I am a frequent sufferer. You'll get those pounds right back off in no time. How's the back? Thanks for remembering the lurkers - I miss them. Jacquie - glad you're starting to feel better. Remind me what eating plan you follow if you get a chance. Purple - sorry about the change in plans but sounds like it all worked out nicely in getting to see an old friend. Enjoy your weekend. It will be special to celebrate your dad's birthday with him next week. Beth - Hiya - is the headache gone? I suffered through it last week during my sugar/carb withdrawal time. Not sure why we do that to ourselves knowing what happens when it comes time to give it up. Debbie - glad to hear you are out of harms way. There is starting to be concern here for snowmelt time north of us. Did you get to Michaels to check out the new bead stuff? Catherine - glad you got to the pool even with a few hiccups. Doesn't it feel great! Toni - you HOT thing you! I'm sure you won't tire of hearing that - I take every compliment from DH and savor. Mimi - I had a hard time getting back into my exercise routine also - then combine it with having to get back to a regular work schedule - UGH! You are very focused and it rubs off on me - thank you so much. Angie - feeling any better yet? How's the bodybugg? The pups and I just got back from the park - 63 now and a high of 20 tomorrow. What a gorgeous day. We did two miles and they are snoozin, rather loudly I might add. I love being able to exercise outside. The fresh air is invigorating for me. Time to get busy on never ending chores - keep on moving! Hugs, Carol |
Toni, congrats on the 22's!!! And to look hot to boot makes it twice as nice!
Angie, glad to hear your feeling better! Annie, o well, there's always tomorrow to do the dvd. You take care of that back and quit trying to do so much!! Jacquie, WOOOOOHOOO on the hair growth!!!! I hope them tiny little hairs grow in rich full and strong. Keep up the treatments, it sounds like it's helping. purpleorc, sorry you didn't get to go to the whist but maybe it's better since they are sick. By the way, what is a whist? Carol, yes I did go to Michaels but was sort of disappointed as they only had half of what they were suppose to. Some of it pretty pricey too. I think I'll just order on the internet and then I can be at my leisure on what I get. I did pick up some nice glass beads though that I think will make nice earrings. The temp change there is really something huh? Hope it turns back to the 60s for you again quick so you can be outside. In about an hour we go pick up Jim's Cpap machine. I'm hope it helps him. He's been sawin' logs every night! My son lost his job so that's going to take a toll on their lives. It's so sad and Jim took a cut in pay which is going to hurt but at least he still has a job which we're very thankful for. Just seems to be one thing after another, but at least we're all healthy. toodles ladies, Debbie |
Hi all,
I am ready to declare my love for the bodybugg. It has totally changed my focus. Before I was focusing on the number of minutes I was exercising...now I am focusing on the number of calories burned. And guess what? I wasn't burning enough. I have a desk job, I go from meeting to meeting, but often the meetings are conference calls...from my desk. So I am not burning many during the day, so I have to make up for it with activity at night. It measures YOUR calories burned, based on your body temp and a few others things. Those things are transmitted through the arm band. So it's not just a guesstimate, it is fairly accurate, for you (actually me) specifically. I hope that helps clarify for any of you wondering. Work is busy, but I will make it work. Because I need to. Although I think the weight will come off slowly, I hope it will come off. I still haven't escaped morbid obesity...Argh. I know TOM was here, but I really want to drop this weight. I am READY. DH goes for a sleep study tomorrow night. I will miss him, as we haven't been apart for a few years. And then he will get a cpap and then I won't have to watch him breathe. I think I mentioned he got a bodybugg as well. Well, he is eating better and working his fanny off. Yay, I am so happy! We will both become happier and healthier this year! I guess that's about it from me. I am really going to try to be active this weekend to try and get down to 311.0. This morning I was 311.8. Come on.... I hope all is going well in your world's. Angie |
Wow you chicks are just whipping along with several pages a day here. That is awesome!
My heart is aching for all of you with "stuff" going on. I have my fair share . But it is encouraging to see that there is so much on going support. Love & hugs I wish I was back on line a week earlier. I would have loved to do TBL challenge for 300+. Oh well I will be a cheerleader for yall! Had a good food day. Mind you that is easy to do when there is not much in the house. Mothers cupboards need a delivery from the grocer! Big list for shopping tomorrow. I am adding in a whole/raw food aspect into our daily life. Not for every meal since DH is a devout carnivour. But mostly for snacks & lunch. Kids like hot cereal to much to make breakfast and uncooked meal. Besides hot cereal is easy on the pocketbook. Had appt #2 with the trainer and she raised all my weights. Since I did not feel enough pain... I guess I could have lied. hee hee... Like that would really get me results eh? But she is a sweet thing and is patient with me learning about the machines. When I look into the room I honestly see a room full of modern art metal sculptures! LOL. I guess it wont take long for me to distinguish what machine is for what body part and how to sit on it! The gazelle is much easier. Very obvious on how to use it. The machine rotation does a whole work out in 20 min. Then I want to do 20-30 min cardio after wards. As well as cardio at home the other 2or 3 days that I am not at the gym. Slightly confused about what my goal weigh should be. The people I was working with from march to sept said my goal should be 150 lbs. But today the trainer and her fancy computer program said 189-195. She said that it is higher cause the computer accounts for denser bone mass. Does that make sense? The first group did not have that computer. They based it on only bmi. Anyone else have any info or input on this? Well kids are in bed and I am headed to the couch for some relaxing. DH is not home from work tonight. So the tv is mine! Sweet dreams everyone! |
julia_ dont worry much about your goal weight. I just chose a number out of thin air. I figure I can always lose more or less depending how i look and feel.
angie_ hope you are able to sleep tonight. I am glad you love your bodybugg. I am happy that your hubby is getting healthy also.Mine is dieting right now as well.he has lost 9lb in 9 days.He is pumped!! debbie- sorry you didnt find more at micheals...i swear those stores overwhelm me!! hugs to everyone one else... I am all 2s today......222.2 which is a 1.8lb loss for the week. I cant wait to be out of the 20s and also cant wait to see the amount left to lose go down below 50lbs. going to do my exercise video then get my shower before the bridal shower. hugs to all and drink your water!! |
Hi Ladies
Good afternoon gosh it still remains biting cold :brr: here today. Braved the weather wrapped up like a snowman :shocksn: to go the farmers market. It is a small outdoor market so I do not envy the poor stall holders having to stand there for hours on end in this freezing cold weather. Did not get very much as unfortunately a few of the stalls was not there. I do not know whether it was due to the weather conditions or the fact it was not there on the normal first Saturday of the month. I wondered whether some stall holders have another market to attend to on the 2nd Saturday of the month. I normally get my ostrich burgers from here as they are low in fat and very filling for a meal. I bought some bread, blackberry and apple jam and some wholemeal sugar free scones. I started to watch a television drama started on the BBC ( television channel here in the UK) it was a 6 part television series about the Anne Frank diary. I can say honestly it is a brilliant drama at the minute and shows what it must have been like for a teenage girl growing up during such turbulent times in confined space with all those hormones racing around. At the same time there has been a one of documentary on another diary written roughly at the same time by a girl roughly the same age in the ghetto in Bedzin Poland. It covers a 3 month period of her life. Unfortunately the girl in question went on to die during the atrocities of that time but her father did live and remarried. He had one other child a daughter and it is her journey to find out more about her half sister whom she did not know about until she was 14 years old herself. This diary came to life in 2005 and it has now been publish and is part of the Polish curriculum of school children of about 14 years old. This is very sad but at the same time compelling to watch. Not done so well on choosing the right foods yesterday I went and pigged out on nuts. These are my downfall I know they are. A few are not enough I really have to be careful around them. I suppose they are always going to be my nemesis no matter how hard I try. These where brought to the house by my parents that is how they came to be here. I had not opened them until last night in a weak moment I gave in. Looks like it is a hard session on the wobble machine to pay for my naughties :D Looking forward tonight to the start of dancing on ice. Not sure if you have this programme in your parts of the world but this is like dancing with the stars but on ice as the name suggests. I love the razzle dazzle I suppose and the costumes. Nice to have a programme that is not peppered with bad language for once. So I know what I will be watching tonight ;) Not sure what else is on or whether that it is it for my taste. gggirls I love to walk also and it is an excellent form of exercise. It is free also which is a big bonus. There is something about exercising outside that is great and I love it. Looking forward to the warmer days so I can enjoy it again regularly. I have a couple of small parks virtually on my door step they are great to walk round with the dog. I use to be able to walk to the nature reserve which is close by but to far for me now. If we drive round I can manage a bit of a walk round it. Now that is lovely walking in the woodlands by ponds very peaceful. You get to see some wildlife too which is special too. Debbie54 Yes a wise idea not to mix with folks who are poorly so it was great idea that it was cancelled. Now whist is a card game which I think is English in origin. It is a game played by four people, all 52 cards are dealt out and so you have 13 cards. Each had "trumps" are different starting with heart, clubs, diamonds and spades. You have to follow suit and try and win that trick if you have not got that suit then you may trump. Not difficult to play but there are tips you can learn over time. You write down the number of tricks you have won with your partner. The winner moves to another table the losers stay at the table. The person playing gent position moves to the left and then the winning gent plays with the losing lady. Some whist drives are small and have maybe 5 tables ( 4 people at each table ) where others are big at 18 tables. It is difficult to explain but I hope it has given you the gist. We play 24 games over the night after 12 stop for a cup of tea or coffee with biscuits :o Realist The bodybugg sounds wonderful and it is great that it has changed your focus. Plus highlighted the fact you were not moving as much as you though you were. I bet you soon see the effects of moving and doing more exercise has done for you. I hope everything goes OK with the sleep study with your DH. I am sure it will give you peace of mind with the cpap machine if it is prescribed. If the breathing issues are weight related ( not all are there are many reasons) maybe the bodybugg will help the issue as well. JuliaHood Sounds like your personal trainer at the gym is wonder going at your pace so you feel in total control. I don't pick things up like I use to when learning something new. So I would need someone patient with me whilst the penny dropped. I am with dgramie when it comes to goal weight really don't worry too much about it. I like dgramie just put a figure down as my goal weight. I did not see that as gospel or anything but decided I would see what I looked like when or if I was at that. I am now a few pounds away from that. People are regularly telling me your not going to lose any more weight are you ? So the next time I visit the doctor I need to ask his opinion where he thinks I such be for definite. One thing I do know if you are weight training your muscles will be toned and they weigh heavier than fat. So you may find that you choose the heavier weigh as you look a million dollars like that any lower and you look gaunt and unwell. Take it each day at a time and decide whether you where you want to be. dgramie You are doing wonderfully on your "diet" I am sure it will not be long be for you see the figures less than 50lbs to lose. I imagine your doctor is so please for you and how well your doing. He knows how difficult like the rest of us how hard it is to lose the weight and keep it off. Your DH is going well with his diet losing 9lbs. It must make it easier for you with preparing meals as they both with be healthy like mind. Not so many luring tempting foods in the home either as your both treading the same road. All my news :blah: and gossip :gossip: for now I think ;) A big hello  to those MIA due to busy schedules at the minute. Till next time take care all :wave:purpleorc  |
