Hey all. Quick fly-by post. I only skimmed the thread so I'm sorry if I miss something important.

The doctors have decided the most likely cause of my chest pain is acid reflux or ulcer. Seems like an odd pain to be caused by that - not like gas or indigestion at all and so high up in my chest and neck and not worse when I lay down or anything...but they have the degree. I'm now starting some big dose of something and if it doesn't improve Doc said in 2 weeks he's schedule a time to stick a camera down my throat. I said, "Let's make that a month. I've had enough cameras where they don't belong, thanks." :p We'll see.

Terri, I know how frustrating the animals can be. With my two it's our coffee. We put a lot of creamer and sweetner and they LOVE it. Mac dumped Jim's entire cup when he left it on the end table the other day trying to get it. I sat mine down once and started dusting, and heard this lap, lap, lap - Little snot was drinking it down like he owned it!

Work was  today. Gotta run!!!

Hi Ladies
It's been a long while since I was last here, but ya'll have been in my thoughts. I finally got wireless internet for my renovated home, and I just got my yearly checkup done today at the doctors. So I am beginning Again, but this time at my highest weight ever 327 and with a diabetes A1c of 7.5 which means I need to get moving in my exercising and planned eating.
You all inspire me with your posts, so I know I am not alone. Have a blessed week ladies and I'll check in again soon.

Just a quick note before I head to work -- I went to the fitness center last night and was able to do 8 rounds of 75 seconds jog/75 seconds walk. I calculate that is 10 minutes of jogging -- I haven't run that much since a walkman was a walkman! :) Woot!

Welcome back Joanne!

Good Morning Gal! :)

I hope everyone is off to a happy & healthy day! I'll admit it - I'm feeling a little blue today. I don't know why....maybe because I'm at home working alone (which I used to enjoy) or maybe because DH is oblivious to my needs, maybe I just want to get to the gym for my 4pm appt. I don't know...but I know my buddies here can understand. Anyway...

Elaine - WOW! Great job on the jogging! I can't wait till I can do that. I've started jogging little stints here and there...like through the parking lot to the car. Just to see what I can do. ;)

Joe anne - Welcome back! I was gone for quite a time as well and have been back for a few months. Stick with us! The support and encouragement around here is awesome!

I guess I should get some work done. :dizzy:

Make it a great day!!!
:)

Hi ladies,

Today is unpacking day. Lots of dust flying around again.

I think I'm having a stress attack of this CPA exam. At least I'm not trying to eat everything in sight. Just having panic thoughts about whether or not I know enough to pass. I need to slow down and breath and keep my thoughts positive. Part of my brain is screaming that its too old and what the heck was I thinking about doing this?

The weather sure turned crappy this week. What happened to the beautiful fall days! Looks like time for hibernation. :yikes: The weatherman actually said the "F" word on TV last night. Yep, FLURRIES, possible this week.

Joe Anne - Welcome back!

I need to run for now. Maybe more replies later.

 to all!

Good morning ladies, How are you this morning?

2 lbs down and umpteen hundred to go. :p My eating plan has changed to "what the devil can I eat"! LOL! In light of the fact that meat or red meat is pretty much off my menu, I have tried to cut down on some of the bread etc. that I was replacing it with. That doesn't work for me. I love carbs and I would like to eat more of them, boo hoo! I am a little sick of poultry. and the way I like fish is fried, natch! I like some of it broiled, just not as well. Whine, whine!

I am cooking pork chops for DH for lunch today and he better appreciate them.! LOL! They are so good fixed the way I am doing them, but fattening! WOW! You dredge them in flour, fry them, add onions, tomato sauce with a can of water, cook for about an hour or until very tender and yummy! :T Sorry about that. I should keep that to myself huh? :^: I will be having a salad.

JoAnne, hi, good to see you!

To everyone else, sorry no replies this morning. I am taking a break from housework. UGH! One bathroom down and two to go. Anybody want to swap jobs? Scratch that! :p Have a wonderful day. Ruth

Good Morning Chicks!!! I'm on the way to a meeting, but I wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY & HEALTHY day!!!

Morning all!

Joe Anne - glad to see you back. :) We're all just putt-ing along! You know you will get all the support you need right here!

Terri - YIKES! Flurries! We're supposed to be 50 and rain all week. Glad I'm not as far north as you!

Elaine - Good going with the WO! :bravo:

Barb - Hope you are in a better mood today! If not -

Ruth - 2 lbs down! :carrot: Those chops don't sound too fattening to me. If you fried them in a non-stick skillet with Pam instead of oil, you'd only add about 1 Tblsp of flour to the total calories. Lean loin chops wouldn't be so bad at all. And yes - I'd gladly clean your house in return for you doing my office work!

Gotta run....busy, busy day!

BarbPA 10-23-2008 10:41 PM

Hi Ladies -
How was everyone's day? Mine was good...busy. After work DH wanted to meet at a diner for dinner. I don't really like eating out these days, but at least I didn't have to do dishes. I had 2 eggs, turkey bacon and 1 slice of wheat toast! (had fresh strawberries when I got home...wasn't paying $4 for a fruit cup) Twice lately I've ordered ala carte breakfast and ended up with a big ole pile of potatos which I promptly remove. I've got to remember next time to tell them the nix the taters. After dinner I got in my cardio while DH watched the boys. Now we are watching the Philles! :)

I am in a better mood today - Thanks Lilion. Not sure what was up with me yesterday. I felt much better after my workout and hanging out with my trainer...then had a nice night with the boys.

Tomorrow is normally a work at home day but I have to go into the office for meetings. The laundry pile is just going to get bigger. I don't think I've gone through mail in 2 weeks...the house is a mess....but I'm getting in my exercise!!! :dizzy:

I'm about to head up to bed. Sweet dreams to all!

Just dropping in to say hello! Hope everyone is doing well. Got places to go and things to do today. See Ya later, Ruth

Heather 10-25-2008 08:13 AM

Morning, ladies!

I'm hoping to do something other than work today -- we're thinking of going to our favorite apple orchard. The drive is really pretty and APPLES at the end ... and cider and donuts... hmm....

BarbPA 10-25-2008 07:50 PM

Hi Ladies! What's everyone up to this weekend? ;)

Heather...The Orchard sounds like a great day. How was it? I'm sure you managed to control yourself around the donuts and cider. :D

It was a nice day around here. I had a training session this morning. It was a great, challenging work out. After that I picked up Subway for all of us for lunch. It was supposed to be naptime after that, but our 3 year old is being a stinker about naps. I put the baby down for his nap and then Carlton and I snuggled up on the couch to watch TV. We both ended up falling asleep - I was half sitting up and he was laying on me. It was nice, but I woke up with a sore back. :^: I did lots of laundry today and putzed around the house. It's a gray, rainy day here. DH wanted to get Hibatchi for dinner. I didn't want that kind of meal so I picked up soup/salad from Panera. It was delish. I was a little annoyed that I ordered Iced Green Tea and didn't realize it was sweetened and 130 calories. I have it covered in my calories today, but expected unsweet tea. Next time I know to double check.

Tonight we'll be cheering on the Phillies and the Buckeyes in my house!!!

Catch ya'll later!

Heather 10-26-2008 08:36 AM

Barb -- It was nice! It's all about getting out in the country and enjoying the day. I did have donuts, but kept it under control.

More grading for me today, but I'm going to get in an upper body workout too.
