Committed to working out, eating well.. gained 7 lbs
Okay.. I am hopping mad.. I have been working my butt off.. and I gained 7 lbs in 3 weeks.. I am so frustrated.. I am doing a low glycemic diet.
I have cut out soda and ice cream (two trigger foods for me).. and I gained.. I should just go buy the darn ice cream.. grrrr.. |
Weighing every day really helps me stay on track. I can see where I am going wrong and it helps clarify when I am doing something right. It sucks that you have been working so hard and not seeing the progress that you want to see. Do you feel better overall though? More energy and whatnot.

Actually I do
I do feel better... but frustrated.. The first few days.. I was insanely crazy.. I told my boyfriend if someone came into my office at 4pm I could literally eat them.. but that seems to have passed...
Additionally, I ate something yesterday that I should not have.. Potato salad.. (but not 7 lbs of it) and I felt really sick and over full (and I only ate about 1/2 of what I would have eaten a month ago).. and I took that as a good sign. I wonder if its a 33 year old's metabolism or the beta blockers I am on.. I just used to see more action in the first few weeks when I have lost weight before... maybe I am just facing that reality. Oh man, tcphd, that sucks! But don't do buy the ice cream, DONT DO IT! It will just create a bigger set back. Maybe it's as simple as reevaluating what you're eating or how much. If you are feeling better, than it maybe be the meds, so best to talk to your doc. Don't lost hope!

I think I am off the "sugar ledge" so to speak.. MS had a good idea.. focus on how I feel which is actually good.. (except for the accidental fart I let go last night in pilates.. EEEK)
You know.. I used to dream of ice cream at my desk around now.. but right now its not sounding so good.. btw.. did you guys notice the prevalence of cats in our profile pictures.. kind of funny! |
Hi TCPHD, I know you say you are eating better, but that can mean sooooo many things. Are you counting calories? I wonder if you are eating too little, or if you are eating more than you realize - if you aren't actually tracking what you're eating. Can you maybe track for a few days the amount and the foods that you're eating? Some of us might be able to offer some suggestions for you to tweak, if you are interested in that, and if you can give us some specifics. Eating better is great for our health, but what that means to everyone can be so vague that it may or may not lead to weight loss. Good luck. :)

Good Point
That is a good point...
I have to say.. your pictures are so inspiring... Wow.. T |
Hey TC, i know how you feel.. I almost feel at times that i am watching every little thing i eat and exercising for nothing! Then i tell myself it has to be doing something good even if the weight isn't coming off very fast.. right? It sure is discouraging i tell ya. And i do get off track at times because of it but i keep getting right back on again.. What else can we do? Hang in there, You're not alone. I am retaining water no matter what i do so i guess that is probably my problem with why it is coming off slow. Hopefully once i get past that it will come off faster. Is that possibly your trouble right now? I wish i knew a way around that, i have tried everything to get rid of that water and nothing does the job, i guess i'm just too darn fat right now and my body is hangin onto it. I take lotrel for my blood pressure, i'm not sure if that causes water retention or not but i know at our size that alone causes water retention. I didn't start retaining water until i got past like 340, i sure wish i had paid more attention! Ugggh. Oh well, we can do it!

should stick to weekly weigh in
So Monday morning is my weekly weigh in day..
and I was down a lb and 1/2 from last week.. Maybe it was water.. it was my time of the month. That is a helluva lot of water though Terri |
