noob!

i've been lurking on here for a few days now and thought i would drop in and say hi. i've never really been a part of any message board or anything but i'm glad i found this one!

i've struggled with weight my whole life and i have no idea what it's like to be thin. but i'd like to. so it's nice to know there's this whole community out there that's so understanding and supportive! it's enough to keep a girl motivated!

:welcome:

This really is a supportive group! I've learned tons of tricks and received a lot of inspiration and support since I joined.

I had been overweight my whole life (well, I am still, I suppose) and was morbidly obese most of my adult life. I am revelling in all the things that are easier now, even as I constantly try to maintain a balance between doing what I need to do to maintain my weight and keeping up with my life. It's worth it, though!

Welcome Midna! :wel3fc:
I would offer the following advice: stay very active on this website and post often! You'll be amazed at how supportive and therapeutic it can be to talk to other people going through the exact same situation. No judgement, great advice, inspirational success stories, thousands of ideas for working out/eating right.

Hope to hear more from you!

Thanks for the welcoming! My ventures into weight loss have been so frustrating. To be honest, I didn't know how much I weighed because my scale goes up to 396, and my doctors scale didn't go past 350lbs. We figured I was in the 375-410ish range. The not knowing was the worst part because you don't know if all the dieting and killing yourself in exercise is even working! So usually I'm strong for about 6 months but give up because I'm not seeing results.

This time has been different however, because I'm back on my scale at least. I guess seeing the evidence is motivating in itself. I'm thrilled anyways. It's a start. And I never knew this website existed before my past failures. So I'm feeling good this time around.
