You GO, Girl! Hang in there. Don't let the scales get you down.

I pretty much always gain at least 2 pounds (usually more) during the day and lose it overnight. In fact, if I weigh in the evening and show a gain less than that, it means the morning news is going to be lovely :D

The scale is getting me DOWN!! UGGGH!! Now i gained 5 pounds!

I am back up again.. This i think is water tho.. My feet n ankles are pretty swollen but 5 pounds worth!?

I wont let this ruin my diet tho!! The water has to go away eventually! Right?

I think maybe i ate too much salt this last week. I will do better this week!

I have to.

It could EASILY be 5 lbs of water. I can easily gain over 10 pounds of water. When I was having TOM monthly (not I use my birth control like seasonique to have periods only a few times a year), I gained 10 - 15 lbs in water weight every month (miserable!).

For some reason, I've really been retaining water badly over the past week. It's been really hot, and I tend to retain water when it's hot (I don't know if there's a scientific reason behind this, or I'm just imagining it), but I've been staying well within my foodplan, and watching sodium, so I know it's not that. I've even turned the air conditioning to as cool as I dare (due to the electric bill) and have been pushing the water. I'm with you that the water has to leave eventually, but at the moment it's being rather stubborn.

This is why I think my food journal helps me so much. I know that I'm eating sensibly, so sensibly that it's too early to consider dropping my calories (or in my case, exchanges), but it's hard to be patient. Though I've got to tell you, that for me, when the water releases, it does it suddenly, and it is cool to see a five or six pound loss within a couple of days. It makes me almost feel like a normal person.

It's hard to be patient, but hang in there. Being patient is the hardest part, because we're conditioned to thing "Agh, what's the use, I might as well eat what I want if the weight isn't going to come off!" Of course, we know that's stupid logic, but it's so hard not to fall into that trap when we're frustrated. So, do what you can to stay calm, whle your body sorts everything out.

Thanks for your post!! That makes me feeel ohhh sooo much better!! Seriously. It really does. I been so depressed ever since i seen that i gained! But i am stickin to it and this time nothins gona change my mind on that! If anyone has any secrets of getting rid of the water and keeping rid of it, please post!! XOXOX

I think i always retain the most water when its hot also! Air condition dont seem to make a difference in that for me either.. Strange aint it!

Yeah, seeing the scale go in the wrong direction, even if you know there's a rational and temporary reason for it, can be so demotivating.

Fresh citrus, I think does help get the water out. So a slices of lemon or lime in your water. Or a having an orange or some grapefruit (if you like them, and they don't interact with your medications...).

I think i am back on track now and i didnt do much damage this time.. i wish i knew what causes me these setbacks :( :?:

Its like me fighting against me or something is how i best describe it.. :?:

I will succeed! :carrot::carrot::carrot:
