What plan do you follow?
Just interested what plan everyone does? Do you do ww...count calories etc? And how do you think its worked for you? ( i know i know - im nosy !) ive been lagging with my weight loss for a while...so just interested...

I count calories, heavy on the protein and fiber.
It's worked well so far. I'm at a bit of a stall now, but that can happen on any plan. I'm cutting back slightly on the calories to jump start the next round of losses. |
I am just starting and I am counting calories. This fits best with me and let's me kinds know where I need to tweak it at..plus it allows me to see exactly whaty I am putting in my mouth.

I count calories, trying to keep my fat under 25% and the protein over 20%. At the moment it seems to be working well. I don't plan specific counts/meals, but I always leave enough that I can have a good sized snack (because late evenings are traditionally bad for me).

Sorry to have so many questions - but how many calories per day do you stick too - and how do you keep track? In your head or a program or a diary?
|
I do between 1800-2000, trying to keep it on the high side since I should probably have started a little higher. If your current weight is stable probably the best idea is to track what you eat, then reduce it until you get the weight loss you want. The claims are that 500 a day will get a loss of a pound, 1000 will get you the loss of 2 pounds a week. It's not that simple, but not a bad place to start.
I use FitDay (the purchased, downloaded version), but there is a free online account option. There's also the Daily Plate, and another one that eludes me at the moment. |
I'm working the WW atm. I keep track with a pen & tracker notebook. Making sure to write down what foods I'm eating as well as the points. It's worked wonders for me so far. :)

Oh i tried the fitday site...that site is great...im gonna stick at doing that for a while i think...

Kazz-
How about trying MyPyramid.gov. It tells you how many servings of different types of food-then you can find the foods in that group that have lowest calories/fat/carbs/etc. Seems to make sense, then when you reach your goal, you already know what's healthy and what's not. BTW, I have not been sick in 14 months because of the healthy eating off of the pyramid. |
Kkazz--
I'm just having a bowl of special K cereal for breakfast and lunch with fruit and veggies for snacks if I get hungry during the day. And then a healthy meal at night. Honestly, it's the best diet I've ever been on. I've counted calories, which for me is pure torture! I just can’t keep track of things all day every day. I feel like my whole life has become my diet when I do that. It consumes me and I run out of steam fast. I did Weight watchers and lost 40 pounds when I was 18. But it was pretty bad for me. I was the only person there who was under 40 and the only person who hadn’t had kids or some other excuse. I couldn’t believe I was the loser at weight watchers too! Some women even told me I ought to really work hard, because they would never have allowed themselves to get like me at my age. I was being shamed as a fat person at a fat person convention! I couldn’t stand to sit in my car and cry before going in anymore so I quit. But hey, I DID lose 40 pounds. I did L.A. Weight loss, pretty much didn’t lose more than 15 pounds, but I did lose about 2000 dollars. So that was a bust. :P But now that I’ve given you WAY more information than you asked for….hahah yeah I eat cereal . That’s the short answer! :D Dusty |
I count calories and focus on staying full with whole grains and veggies. My doctor told me to join ww last year but this way is more affordable for me :)

I know. But honestly, I just wanted to get out there! My mom thought I was being oversensitive. I don't like to make too many waves I guess! |
I did WW I lost 130lbs, then I got in a finacial prob and had 2 stop, when I did that I got in a slump and ended up gaining back about 40-45lbs, now I have decided its my time, and I am trying the Counting Calories, I just started this week so we will see how it goes, good luck to you.
