Can anyone recommend a good scale that goes up to 400 pounds that will not break the bank?

When I was up around 600, I used 3 regular scales with a small piece of plywood across them. The plywood kept me from crushing the top of any of them when trying to get on and off. It wasn't the most accurate, but it did a good job of telling me how much loss from week to week. It was a lot better than going to the salvage yard to use the truck scale. I can't even imagine how much a home scale would have cost. I eventually got down to using two scales. I have a digital scale now that goes up to 390. I think weight watchers makes a good scale. I got mine from Amazon. If you access it through this site, a couple of pennies goes to the fat chicks.

I really like the Tanita I have, but it was fairly pricey at around $50. Unfortunately most of the ones that go up higher are more expensive.

Health o Meter physicians scale Goes up to 450 pounds. $163 A bit pricier, but looks nice.

I have a Health o Meter with a large platform that goes to 400 lbs. I bought it at Wal-Mart for about $35. It weighs me the exact same weight as the scale at my doctor's office so I think it is accurate.

Ok so I went to Walmart last night and got a scale for about 25.00. I hated to see the numbers but atleast I know exactly where I stand now. My friends scale I have been using is weighing low. But now that I know where I am at I can start and really track that I am losing. Seeing that number go down really motivates me to keep going and I needed that!

If anyone else is in need, Amazon has the Health o Meter that weighs up to 400 pounds on sale today in the Friday Sale for $29.

I just got a mailing from Costco and they have a 400-pound capacity WW scale that will be $18 with a coupon if bought in the store. If you are a Costco member look out for the little coupon book in the mail. I think the offer starts on Monday the 7th and goes for a week or two.

Do a google search for "My Weigh XL440" I do not have the appropriate post count to post a link yet or else I would, that scale goes to 440# and is $50 they also have a 550# scale for $79 google "My Weigh XL550" for that one. these scales have a 30 year warranty and are made in the US. this is the scale I am getting.

There is always eBay! I'm sure there are plenty of scales for sale there.

i bought an escali scale and it goes up to 400 pounds it only cost me 32 dollars it mesures body fat and water percentages and u can program it for up to ten people...i got mine off of amazon.com but u could just go to their website..if you go to amazon you'll have to type in high capacity scale to find them...good luck
