Doing Great..I Think..Need Input

Hello Ladies.

I need some input from you losin ladies. The last time when I posted when my scale drop..gotten discouraged and sorry for not explain ..so I am going to explain my efforts and need some input if am doing great or what. I have no one to talk to on this..since my household is having a stressful time now.

Okay.. The picture on my siggy is how I look like and never changed. My overall high weight through the years been at 400, according to my own doctors scale.

I gave up on journaling, counting or being on a famous eating plan...My new efforts now is choosing low or no sodium foods..since I know am retaining water. My morning meal that I choose is puffed rice w fat free milk and banana or oatmeal with yogurt. I am a fruit eater, and not much a veggie fan...but do eat frozen spiniach when tom arrives.

Have started drinking gallon ..half or 2 gallons of water to flush out the salt. I stop drinking coffee and diet coke and water is my choice now.

I am rarely active.. I climb stairs daily, walking, or do my fitness videos when I have time spare.

I do have candy, but the right portions when I crave..since candy is low in sodium and do need a pick me up sometimes. I don't have diabetes or other major health issues.

Doing all this and am seeing the scale move.. I am a daily weigher, weigh myself in the morning and late afternoon before dinner. I am aware of the fluctations due of eating salty foods. My current weight at the moment is 335

I don't have a doctor at the moment.. my current one that was seeing is not taking my insurance now and am in the process of searching. Nothing is wrong with me..I do feel lighter and have energy,,but look the same..

Am I doing great?

Lil,

Sounds like you are doing some intuitive eating. I know there are some people who are very successful at this! They might even be able to direct you to some links that explain it even further.

I would not call -65 lbs of that water weight!!! I'm sure everyone else here will agree. There's no way on this green Earth that someone carries 7.8 gallons (1 gal = 8.3 lbs) of water and loses it preferentially over fat.

I hate veggies too. It's one of my healthy eating goals to add at least 1 a day. Bleh.. hehe.

Hugs to you!

Luv,
Rat

My goodness, 65 pounds is awesome! For me, a big step in the process was becoming more aware of what I eat -- not just eating mindlessly.

Sounds like you're doing well!!!

I think you're doing great Liliann!! If you can find SOME time to be active, even in 10 minute spurts, it will help you even more!!

Have you taken another picture and compared them side by side? Because I thought I looked the same until I saw a picture of myself. Where did those cheeks go! Check it out, look at my avatar and my pic in my profile. I see the difference now, but looking in the mirror, nothing.

I wish I would have taken a pic of my belly. To me it looks exactly the same, but I bet it was bigger 4 sizes ago.

And you are doing great. 65 pounds is awesome! Keep it up! Keep it up! Keep it up!

YES, 65 pounds is great!! I don't think there's any way of knowing how much is "water weight" and how much is fat. Either way, 65 pounds is 65 pounds!

I like your approach of eliminating caffeine, too. It shows you're trying to be healthier, not just thinner.

"Before" and "during" pictures are incredibly helpful, as are taking measurements periodically. Keep it up! Sometimes it's hard to see our own progress.

i would also cut out the diet soda. its just chemicals. go for sparkling water mized with fruit juice to cupb your carbonation craving. it works. i cant STAND soda now. it makes my teeth hurt. even diet. but juice and sparkling water i can drink all day :)

i dont think that you are just retaining water. im sure that may have something to do with it, but like Ratkitten said, 7.8 gallons of water is a lot of retention. maybe looking at the real factors, like not getting enough excersize and eating more vegetables (they have less sugars to burn than fruits). look in the recipes section for inventive ways to get your veggies. i made pumpling cupcakes last night (see the 300+ thread) also, roasting or making veggie soup.

at any rate, you are doing amazing. dont get frustrated if you plateau, just try changing some things up.
