Curious.
For all of you that are around 300 (or up) how much weight did you lose before you REALLY began to notice it?
It's been easy for me so far, and in just over a month I've lost 17 pounds, and I can't tell any difference, just curious as to when you can really see the difference. |
Notice in what way? In pictures.. I couldn't even tell until minus 70. People didn't make remarks until minus 50. I could FEEL it after 10. My clothes felt it too :)

I'm down 15 or so, and I can tell a little bit. My clothes are looser, and my face doesn't look as bloated. But when I look in the mirror at my naked body, it looks pretty much the same.
No one has noticed the 15 lbs. A few have said I'm looking well. I think there must be a tiny difference in the way I look, but not enough for anyone to see it is related to a weight loss. |
The last time I lost a significant amount, it was 30 pounds before anyone else noticed.
This time around, I've only lost 10 pounds so far, but I'm starting to notice that my pants are a bit looser (hips are my widest area) and I can FEEL (but not see) my collarbones without trying. The GOOD news: The more you lose, the more of a difference each 10 or 20 pounds makes, both in clothing size and visual appearance. So, we all just have to HANG IN! |
I still haven't noticed anything significant. No one else has mentioned anything, either. But I see little things that catch me off guard. Like last week, I noticed that my legs were looking and feeling different...I actually had some definition and could tell...even if it was a tiny bit. And today I noticed that my arms are getting flabbier. Which sounds like a bad thing...but the fact that I can see my muscle a little bit more than I could, and some of the skin is actually a tiny bit loose (gross, I know...but at least it isn't filled with fat!!!). My pants are getting looser, too. Finally. But generally speaking, I don't see a big difference...not yet, anyway.

I took pics of myself every 10lbs. It was very hard to notice at first but it took 40-50lbs before I really noticed everything myself. I am now 86lbs down and I am getting compliments from people left and right! At times it makes me feel good (like when my own lawyer didn't recognize me) but it can also be overwelming!
|
I don't notice any difference for the most part yet. I've been lax in my picture taking, but am going to rectify that this weekend. I want to document this so I can look back and see how far I've come.

I used to weigh 352 lbs. When I got down 20-25 lbs I noticed my pants fitting much looser but when I looked at myself in the mirror I didn't really see the difference. When I lost 50 lbs then my friends/family started noticing.
|
Me noticing was about 25 pounds. Other people was at least 50. However, I wear really baggy clothes so it is harder for me to tell from that angle. More than anything I noticed changes to my fitness levels.
|
I noticed after 10 pounds. It all seemed to come from my face, at first. My husband could see it too.
Other people, it took 30-35 before I got any comments. |
I couldn't tell much difference until I had lost about 50 lbs. I was still wearing the same clothing even, although it was very baggy by then. At 75 lbs gone, more and more people started noticing it, although many of them told me they noticed it because my face looked thinner. (! - 75 lbs to be told your face looks thinner!!) Soon after almost everyone started mentioning it.

I notice all things I had issues doing before I started working out and loosing weight. I'm sitting right around 20lbs lost and look wise no change. But I can now walk 5 miles one way non stop. 2 months months ago. I was ready to drop dead at 1/2 mile.
I'm also faster. |
I'd say after 10 pounds or so I started feeling better and my clothes were fitting better - my physical fitness was definitely better. I've lost about 20 and people like my daughter and a good friend have noticed. I've lost a lot of inches from working out, so I think I look a lot smaller in the mirror. I think sometimes people don't want to say anything until they are "sure" so they don't offend.
|
Just a thought about the baggy clothes. It's interesting they "hang" (pun) around for so many sizes. No wonder people don't/can't tell there's weight loss. I've been hiding in fluffy clothing all my life!
In luv and fluffiness, Ratkitten |
I felt so much better when I had lost 30 lbs, though couldn't see a change in how I looked. It took me losing 50 lbs before I could notice and before people started noticing.
