Water

How much water do you drink daily?

Debbie54 06-16-2007 02:41 PM

I drink about 1 gallon a day and boy oh boy, am I headin' for the bathroom towards the end of the day:o

HeatherAngel 06-16-2007 03:24 PM

4-6 liters, every day.

NotTheCheat 06-16-2007 07:03 PM

I have 24 oz bottle that I carry with me all the time and I try to get through at least 4 a day.

AmmiUK 06-16-2007 07:34 PM

I drink anything from 5 - 10 pints a day depending on how thirsty I am. And yep, I practically live in the bathroom

Hugs,

Ammi :chicken:

Water is important

I was amazed, but the more water you drink, the more weight you loose. I guess that's why the experts keep telling us to drink water. I discovered this (luckily) early on, when I had one week of low water consumption and then the following week of enormous water consumption. The 1st week 1 1/2 lbs lost; the 2nd week 7 lbs lost. I find that I always do much better, though 7 lbs is extreme, in the high water consumption weeks. :D Drink as much as you can ~ (some days you'll feel as though your kidneys are floating, but its soooo worth it).

Deb ;)

jillybean720 06-27-2007 02:33 PM

I typically drink about 2-3 liters of water a day when I'm doing well. That's not including anything else I drink, as I usually have 1-2 cans diet soda and occasionally some sugar-free Kool Aid, but I don't include those in my water count. When I'm in a nutritional rut (like right now), I drink much less, and I sure feel crappier for it!

Ratkitten 06-27-2007 02:39 PM

The line between hydrated and dehydrated for me is a fine one. When I'm dehydrated, I get dizzy. When I'm really dehydrated, I have a pulsing sound in my inner ear when I turn my head plus being dizzy.

Minimal intake is 60 oz, not including my morning tea or 1-2 caffeine-free sodas in the evening.

I like to hit 80oz during the day. Makes me wear a path to the little girls' room, but I feel better.

When I exercise, I drink about 16oz average additional water for every 30minutes (especially if it's outside summer bicycle riding). I've been known to consume over 72oz on a 25mile ride (a little over 2 hour ride), and then drink another 72oz after the ride. I didn't mention that I sweat like a piggie (as the saying goes).

BTW, I have to make a conscious effort to drink water! If I were only that way with food...... *sigh*

Luv,
Ratkitten

100 ounces a day, as recommended by both my nutritionist and surgeon.

HarpoChicoGroucho 06-27-2007 11:23 PM

I'm the rare case of drinking relatively no water -- at the beginning of my change, I drank the default 64 oz, but that only lasted 2 weeks. I'm just not a big water fan. I do drink alot of diet pop though -- and crystal light. Water consumption never seemed to have any effect on my weight loss. I can't imagine myself forcing down X oz of water every day for the rest of my life. I'm not undermining its importance, but everyone has to find what works for them and what they can live with.

RoyalAthena 06-28-2007 12:36 AM

Hmmmmm. I'm not sure about the liters and pints conversions. I drink 80 - 100 ounces. I guess I could drink more but if I eventually do, it will be a gradual increase.

TheStorySoFar 06-28-2007 11:52 AM

I tend to drink about 64+oz. Depends on the day though. During the summer that number tends to go up as it is hot on the desert in the summer. :)

luja 06-28-2007 02:05 PM

I TRY to get 64 oz in. Water isn't my thing. I'll drink more if it has lemon in it. I do drink lots and lots of iced tea year round.

StormieAngel 06-28-2007 02:15 PM

I am horrible about water... we have well water and I think it tastes nasty. Can't afford bottled water. But have had more than one Doc in the past tell me , I can do crystal light as a replacement, not as good for me but if that is all I will drink then do it. SOOOO Since I seen this post , I been reminded I have not been drinking it as much as I should so this morning I left the soda in the box ( I hate warm soda) and fillled my sports drink bottle with CL. And made a new container of it as well... I've drank about 20 ozs so far this morning and even had breakfast... I plan on drinking at least 2 more of my sports bottles of CL today if not more. I am not a big drinker of anything n general.

THANKS! for the reminder to drink healthier!

i shoot for 4 litres a day. I usually get about 3 and then a tea/water mix with dinner..

Motivated74 06-30-2007 01:39 AM

I usually have from 4-5 liters. I love water and have it with every meal except for breakfast. I sometimes will squeeze a bit of lemon into it just for a little kick.

MarinePrincess 06-30-2007 02:14 AM

I carry around a 25.7 fl.oz. bottle with me. I freeze it each night and drink that, then refill it and drink it again. Sometimes I add a Crystal Light On The Go to mix it up.

Vortex_VVV 06-30-2007 09:55 PM

I can't count the ounces... it just doesn't work for me, I can't remember, I don't want to have to check ounces all day. Counting calories is enough work for me. What I've done instead is to cut out caffeinated beverages (well, mostly... some days I have ONE cup of coffee) and try hard to drink water whenever I'm thirsty. A lot of times when I think I'm hungry I drink some mineral water and realize... hey, I was actually thirsty, not hungry. I'm probably drinking 64 oz. or more a day, but I guess you could say I'm an intuitive drinker.

StormieAngel 07-03-2007 06:53 PM

ok ok all this water weight stuff got to me.. that and walking thru Walmart and seeing the breast cancer awareness 1 liter water bottles.. I bought one yesterday and have almost drank 2 liters today... WOW that is a first for me.. I really am one of those rare water drinkers.. But I thought about it and I want to be healthier and I am bound and determined to be skinnier. For some reason it is easy to drink it down today.. Maybe I good day?? I hope everyone else is doing well.. not sure how much I will end up drinking.. but I am making a start and some is better than none.

miradoblackwarrior 07-11-2007 01:20 PM

I too add Crystal Lite. Actually, I dilute it, and have a great big gallon jug in the fridge. Then I tap it, and tap it, and tap it....

So, I really don't know how much I drink, but I'm sure it's more than a gallon a day!

WinterStarzz 07-11-2007 03:56 PM

I started out with 48oz a day to ease myself into it, so I wouldn't spend half the day in the potty.

uniqueusername 07-11-2007 08:00 PM

I have always done so much better when I have been drinking a ton of water.. You could really tell in my losses when I had all the water I needed.

I just need to get back in the habit of having that at every meal..

mhuppert 07-11-2007 09:07 PM

:) I usually drink around 64 oz. or so each day, it really helps with the weight loss! I didn't realize it until I had a week of not drinking very much and only losing 1.5 pounds, and the week after, drinking the 64 oz. and losing 4 pounds.

going to lose 200 07-11-2007 09:28 PM

i aim for 5-6 litres a day. half the time I get there, the other half I will get about 3 litres in. Today is a 6 litre day!

MugCanDoIt 07-13-2007 09:25 AM

Ok, after reading all this, I am chug, chug, chug.....gulp, girgle, chug, chug!

balloonlady 07-13-2007 09:37 AM

A gallon or so. I don't keep track as well as I should. My cup holds 32oz and I drink between 4 and 6 of those a day.
