Impt Info for NEWBIES and EVERYONE!!

Hello and Welcome!!!

As the moderator for the "300+" area. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our area and share some navigational tips.

At the top of the 300+ Area's list of threads you will notice several "sticky" threads. All this means is that those threads are permanently stuck to the top of the list so that they are easy to find and don't drop off when they are not used as often as the rest of the forums.

You will find some very good stuff there: pictures, recipes, bios, weigh-in, monthly exercise goals, etc. When you enter each of them, the first post will tell you basically what the thread is about. You're welcome to join in and post in any of these.

Past the wide grey line you will find our conversation threads. The "300+ Weekly Thread" is our fast-moving conversation thread. Feel free to jump in, and don't feel you have to respond to everyone else!

The "300+ And Getting Fit after 40" Weekly thread (formerly "Old Hen's") was started because we realized that as we age, it gets harder to drop the pounds. If you happen to be 40, over 40 or near 40 you might want to join that thread.

The folks on the threads are from all walks of life, all different ages, following many different plans and are of all shapes and sizes. What we have in common is a genuine love of people and the willingness to share ups and downs, failures and successes.

Some folks choose to post on all of the threads, others find it hard to keep up with more than one thread. In order to post in either of these groups, just select the thread with the highest number and jump right in. Please feel free to join in wherever you like.

And then, of course, you can start your own thread if you want an issue to be more front and center in the discussion. Give your thread a name that doesn’t leave others guessing at the topic, though!

Weight Trackers: If you would like to add a ticker to your signature, first, you have to be a member for 25 days and have made 25 posts. Once you've crossed those hurdles, here's how to do it.

Go to User CP in the purple tool bar above. On the left side choose Edit Signature. At the top of that page is where you follow the directions to make a ticker. It will walk you through the process. When you're finished making it, the code will appear. There are actually several codes visible, choose the one that says for use on 3FCs. Highlight it and then hit CTRL and the C key. Then go back to the original Edit Signature page. You can do this by hitting the BACK button several times. Then on that page, scroll down and you'll see a text box. Click your cursor into that box and then hit CTRL and the V key. The code that you copied should now be there. You can add a name or message in that box too if you want and that will become your "signature". When you're finished you'll need to scroll down just a bit further and hit Save Signature. Then you should be good to go. Hope that made sense. If you still have trouble, PM me with the information you want included and I can do it for you.

I hope this helps some. We are always happy to see new-comers join us. Please grab a bottle of water, skootch in your chair and join us for some great conversation.

If you should ever have any questions or need anything, please feel free to PM me.
