How many here have read...

How many in this forum have read the "You: on a diet" book by Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen? (I know there is a thread in another forum but wanted to see in this forum how many there are).

I got this book for my b-day(a friend asked what I wanted and I told her that I wanted this book) and so far it's a great book. I am about 2 thirds of the way through it. It makes such total sense about everything.

So if you have read it or are reading it, what are you thoughts?

I haven't gotten it yet, but it is definitely on my list!

I liked most of it, didn't agree with the "don't eat 3 hours before bed" thing. If I don't get home from work until after 8, am I just supposed to skip dinner? Anyway, that's just a rule I always thought was unncessary, just based on my own personal experience. Dinner has always been my biggest meal and I ate it within the 3 hour deadline the whole time I was losing weight and during my 2 years of maintenance with no noticeable impact on my weight. Just don't get that one!

For someone like yourself it might not be the best advice, but for someone like me it is good advice as I eat supper around 5 or 6 pm...so I try not to eat after 8pm.

Greetings all. Thanks for starting this thread:angel: Jen. I am reading this book. I really understand my body better now:flame: . I have givin up weighing myself constantly because it is so :stress: disappointing most times. I started measuring just my waist. I lost 3 inches  n less than 3 weeks. I feel so much more confident in what I'm doing now. I haven't finished it,:goodvibes but I am enjoying it. Also I am not on Oz's diet but funny thing is that the diet I made up for myself is sooo close to his. That makes me:chin: more confident that I am learning what will work. I added eating a small handful of nuts 20 min. or so before I eat once a day, and it has really helped :ziplip: curve the hungery monster that lives in my gut. The thought :yikes: of the big ol' apron on drippy fat hanging on my stomic just about :barf: gags me. I figure I have another 20 inches  to go to be close to what is called normal sized waist wise:hat: . that sounds good to me. AMMI has lost 100 lbs :cp: and that was 20 inches for her:bravo: . Maybe I will do :crossed: as well. I want to hear feed back on this book also.:comp: Please continue to post thoughts on it. :cheer2:

:woohoo: Have a super strong on plan day:woohoo: .

Hi guys,

I am reading the book and love it. I am not doing the diet just enjoying learning about my body more. I am on WW and measured out almonds in little snack baggies to have when I feel very hungry. They are only 2 points each baggie and they really satisfy my hunger. I hope you all enjoy the book as much as I am.
Blessings,
Annie
