Hello everyone :)
Just thought I would pop on before bed and share my day. I hope everyone is doing well, and I hope tomorrow is an OP day for everyone! :) First off...the dvd I got was "The Biggest Loser Workout"...its set up pretty nice. There is a warm up and a cool down...there is a low impact cardio, a high impact cardio, a strength training and a bootcamp (hardcore) section. You can either pick a premade group (warmup, low impact, cool down) or you can pick and chose which of the workouts you want to do, and it plays them in the order you pick. The people in it are the season 1 and 2 people, and Bob the trainer is the leader. He is very motivating and I find him enjoyable, not annoying :) I was talking to my friend today and he told me his wife would be interested in joining a gym with me...I am going to talk to her more about it this weekend. It would be nice to go, as I went to one many years ago and loved it, I just dont like going alone! As for the job hunt... still nothing. I have put in another 10 or 12 applications though...hopefully SOMEONE will hire me! Heck, I even got denied from PetSmart because I have a tattoo bracelet! I mean, come on! I cant sell dog food cause I have a "visible tattoo"? Its not like its tasteless, it looks like a bracelet! Oh well, their loss :) I do have my hopes up for Midwest Express Airlines though...they are based here and hiring for customer service reps. Not the best hours or pay, but free flights :) I could really use those! Today I went to a meeting for a club I belong too...the Shamrock Club of Milwaukee. I joined the Color Guard/Pipe and Drum group a few weeks ago, and the first real meeting for the guard is next Tuesday....well, today after the Shamrock Club meeting, the leader of the Guard fitted me for my uniform! I was so excited! I thought for sure it would be a while before I got one, seeing as how I havent actually started yet...but in a few weeks I will be the proud owner of my very first kilt :) I tell ya, if marching in 25 parades a year, and doing various other functions, all while carrying a flag (or soon, playing the bagpipes or drums), and having to wear a kilt arent enough to push me to lose weight, I dont know what else will! The hardest thing I have to do right now is decide if I would rather play the bagpipes or the drums...I love both!! I have until Tuesday to decide....HELP!! :) I wish I could just do both LOL Well, its 1am and I guess I should really get to bed...I stayed up till 2 last night and ended up taking a 3 hour nap after getting the kids on the bus..not good!! I think tomorrow I will do my dvd instead of a nap if I feel tired :) Talk to everyone soon!! :) Heather |
Catherine: I absolutly relate to you. I was such an athlete until I started putting on the pounds. I can still throw a saddle on my dad's horse, I can still beat anyone I know in a swimming race and I can still beat my young men nephews in arm wrestling. lol so, under this fat somewhere there are muscles that I can't wait to see again. Heck I can't wait to see my toes again. lol
Aengusmommy: okay, I'm totally biased because I am a percusionist. Play the drums, play the drums! lol Have fun with all that. Sounds like fun. Very hard work too. I recall marching in parades carrying tri toms or a xylaphone and it is a workout and a half. Good for you. Well, I got all my exercises in again today. I am so pleased that I have all of last month exercising daily even on Christmas day and Eve and now I haven't missed a day yet. I think I'm on a roll. The best thing is now my dear sweet hubby is riding the bike every night and the Gazelle. Blessings all, Annie |
One more thing.
Zelma: if you or Neil is lurking, you are in our prayers and thoughts. Bless you honey. |
I am ecstatic!!! I have met my second goal AND at a total of 25 pounds lost. I haven't been this low in four years!!!

Christie -- Congrats on the weight loss! :woohoo:
Wow, any other athletes here (former or current). I never would have considered myself an athlete. I did play volleyball in HS, am 5'5" and wasn't a natural. It did help keep the weight off in college. I feel that finally, as a 40 year old, I am starting to make a mind/body connection I never had. That's one of the things I like about weight lifting, learning to appreciate and control the things my body can do -- something I never had before. Maybe one of the many reasons I never liked exercising/working out??? |

I read a quote once that went something like "anytime a woman exercises, she should consider herself an athlete.." Men do. Why shouldn't we? :boxing: :lifter: |
