Just awful
LBH-Hope you are okay and so is your DH!
I called Setina she is okay too. She it in Atlanta. My building was closed down at noon. I work next store to the Federal Courthouse in Milwaukee. Jul-Sorry to hear about Levi. I know you are sad and my prayers are with you. Take care all- DANI-Is your family okay? |
Man, what a day. I am home now, they told us all that if we wanted to go home, we could. The office did not officially close, but it was pretty much a ghost town there. A few people around me were pretty upset because they knew people or family members that work in that area. I just can't believe it, I remember feeling this same way when they announced the Gulf War. I remember I was at the bowling alley during leagues that night they announced it. It's kind of like being in a fog...but soo much closer to home! I mean, that's like, a half hour away from me!! DH is still at work, but said he'd probably be leaving early. I don't know when he'll be home though, he may go to the firehouse for awhile. They're not on stand-by yet, but they maybe. I know Flanders, the next town over from us, is on stand-by, they were all outside hanging around when I drove by on my way home earlier. I don't know why though...we're kind of in the "boonies". They've closed all the highways going east towards the city...thankfully DH &I both go west!
I've been watching the news since I got home and I just can't belive what I'm seeing. It was one thing to here about it on the radio all AM, but to actually see it on TV is just devastating. |
Sick
So hard to focus on anything. I know I am a half a day behind at work. Unless they cancel one more conference. We had to cancel the one that starts tomorrow. Because noone can fly here.
I have a headache from all this. Going to get Brandon from school and talk with him about this. I am sure he has heard it all. But I just want to reasure him that he is safe and sound. 2 of my neighbors are fighting. It is like shut the darn windows and shut up. Today is not the day to fight. We have enough sorrow in this world. Take care all B Barbara Olson from Fox News Died in the crash at the Pentagon. :( |
IT is soo amazing the sickness and hate that people have..My prayers and thoughts are with the poor innocent people on the planes, the buildings, families etc....

sadness
Yes, Pryia we are all fine. There are many people here in the area who work in NY. I feel such sadness because they are all so worried.
As some of you know, I teach on McGuire AFB. Security is very tight. Today was Dominoes Pizza Day and they were unable to get the pizza on base. Families pulled their children out of school. There is just shock and sadness you can see on everyone's faces. (as I am sure is everywhere) I cannot believe the towers are not there anymore. I cannot believe this could happen. I am trying to see the news since my son is not here right now. The pictures are so awful. I hope you are all well and that your families are safe. love, dani |
Hi Everyone!
Jul-Sorry for you loss! I know that has to be hard on your family. BigFatBooty-Hope your migraine is better. I definetly know your pain. Happy and Lauren-Glad you are both ok. Pryia-Thanks for the phone call. You are such a sweetie to check on me. I have family that work close to the WTC and at the Pentagon and they are all ok so I am very happy for that. My prayers are with everyone as we try to cope with this tradgedy. Please stay safe. Moments like this make you take time to say THANK YOU for being such wonderful friends. I am so glad to have each and everyone of you in my life. Love Setina |
thinking of you....
I just wanted you all to know I'm thinking of you here in Toronto. I have cousins in Manhattan but thankfully they're okay. I'm so glad to hear from all of you.
My prayers are with you, Elisa |
Unbelieveable (sp) day. Stunned. Went to work in the North End of Boston, right across the river from Logan Airport. Watched them move the tanker ships loaded with natural gas to decrease the odds of a major explosion should "anything else occur". Went home early to miss traffic and have been watching the reports on TV. This is just so tragic. Hope all of you with children find some way to help them make peace with this.
LBH and Happyface: Glad to hear you are OK. This type of situation makes me think maybe Salt Lake City was not so bad.... On to other matters Rabbit: Thanks for the encouragement! Great job OP for 6 days. I see that old record going down. Hope the H2O and exercise increases are going well. Pyria: Good for you! You can do the OP thing (although it is sooo hard!). Sorry to hear your little man is causing strife. Hope things went well with your talk about todays events. I PMed you, but am not sure if it went through. Thanks for your concern, will go to the dr soon. LBH: So glad to hear of your grandparents party! Sounds wonderful. Talked to "the houseguest", he should be gone soon. Thanks for answering my low points question. I thought that was the case, guess I will have to try to be "less good" durring the day! Seems I am always under or WAY OVER... RR: Good luck at the dentist! That is always a challenge with little ones, especially the most special ones! Jump back on that horse and send those 10 lbs packing. You can do it! BFB: YUM... Corn on the cob smothered in butter! Keep up the great exercise. Sorry to hear of the inlining mishap. Hope you are feeling better Sonya: Had a talk with the houseguest. Hope it works! How are things with you? How was the start of school? Let us know! Juldiet: So sorry to hear about Levi. I hope you are doing better. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time. There is a site you may want to visit, called www.rainbowbridge.com. It may just make things hard, but I found it extremely helpful when I lost my four-legged friend. Happyface: Welcome back! Wow- kindergarden, big step. Best of luck with the housing Elisa: Hope your husband can stick with you. You should be VERY PROUD - only 2 lbs in vegas! That is the HARDEST town! Take care all - hope tomarrow brings brighter news. |

LOVE YOU BUNCHES   For all the familes and friends of those in DC and NY! |
Hi All,
Don't have much to say this AM...just trying to keep it together...so glad to hear everyone I know is safe though. Pryia- Did you notice that it says "jazzy2b" under Last Post By...? I know that is what you have as your status, but it's weird that it came up as that, instead of Pryia!! Is that something you did, or a glitch?! Have a good day all... |
Hi. Just like the rest of you, I am stunned and sick over what's happened, thankful that my family is okay, somewhat scared about the future. I'm so glad everyone here is well. Jul, sorry about your dog. That's a miserable feeling. Dani, thanks for checking in; I was thinking of you yesterday.
Well, this seem frivolous to mention today, but I've been OP all week, feeling good about that. I've been drinking lots of water and staying under 25 points. I hope to see a loss on Friday. I NEED to see a loss on Friday :) I will post that soup recipe for everyone, but I need to find it in the huge piles of papers that are scattered all over my office. Bear with me! As far as school, we've only had it for one day (this afternoon is the second) and while I think I'll like it, I am one of the only people who doesn't have a design or programming background, so I'm starting from scratch and I keep wondering how I even got into the program. If you don't see me around much, it's because I'm lost in some cyber world I hope I can figure out how to control. Keep your chins up, everyone. And stay on whatever program you're on! Love, Sonya |
Hope today finds all of you well
Truly frightning. Logan airport is closed "indefinately". In this area, we are used to having a lot of air traffic all of the time. Now, it is just the fighter planes. They seem to be just circling the city. I guess it means we are safe, but it is eerie.
Been OP for 11 days and am completely "stuck" at the 159-160 point for this whole month. My thoughts go out to all of the friends and family of the victims of this tragedy, as well as to the innocent lives which may be lost due to retaliation. |
HI ALL.
I could not get on the internet yesterday and am so glad to see so many of you have checked in to say you are okay. I don't know how to say how saddened I am about yesterdays events. God Bless the USA. I am 8 days op and hope for a loss this week. Will try to respond to the last few days posts now. Pryia - yeah on the cheetos.:) Elisa - welcome back!:D Bailey - sorry I didn't see your point question until now. I agree with what Lauren said though, you should probably try to atleast have the minimum points everyday or you may be doing more harm than good. I have a very few days like that - few and far between. But I think on a regular basis, you should try to stay in the range. Jul - sorry about Levi.:( Sonya - yeah for staying op for a week and drinking your water. You are turning things around and the loss will surely show up on the scale soon. RABBIT |
One sad story to share - and I'm sure there will be so many - way too many. An aquaintance had a best friend who worked in the WTC. He called him when this happened on his cell phone to see if he made it out. The guy said - I'm on the 67th floor, it is engulfed in flames, I have no way out, I'll see you in the next life.
God help us all. Rabbit |
