Good Morning Everyone!!

I wish I could demand to have baby! The hospital rules are I won't get baby until I'm out of recovery. So, they will have to finish up the surgery (I'm having a tubal done), last time it took an hour to put me back together, then two hours in the recovery room. I will be demanding to have her as soon as I am in my room, you can be sure of that. They also strap your arms down in the delivery room and I've been trying to talk DH into letting my arm loose so I can touch her before they take her. He wasn't too keen on that, 'cause he thought I was going to be under anesthesia. I explained it's only a local, so he might do it for me. I'm already anxious to hold her!

Lisa: Good luck on the interview! I hope it goes well for you.

Lauren: I know what you mean. If you find motivation from somewhere, please point me in that direction. I don't know how it's going to go after she gets here, but right now I resent eating so much! I hope it carries over.

Karen, did you have an epi last time, or general?? Doesn't he remember? :lol: 2 hrs. in recovery? That sucks.

They tie your hands down??? Oh my, I don't think I could handle that. (Of course Ive never had a baby).

Lisa, :lol3: yes, when you have a c/s, you are laying flat on your back, arms out to the side, and wriste strapped down. :)

Isn't that like, oh I don't know, tourture?!? I don't think that I could do it. You women are better than me.

Trust me, it ain't easy. I'm claustrophobic and it REALLY gets to me. There's also a sheet hanging in front of your face. I asked the anesthesiologist to push it away for me last time. I hope I get a nice one this time. She was great. She got hot towels for me when the reaction set in last time that makes you feel so darn cold. I was about to shiver off of the table. I bought some funky fuzzy flag socks to wear. My toes should be fashionable and warm at the same time!

Lisa, If I had to have a c/s, they would have to give me general anestesia (I knowthat's spelled wrong). I'm a total whimp! I just put myself through natural childbirth!

Lauren: I had a spinal last time. If I understood correctly, with the epi they leave the catheter in place so they can add more meds without another stick. The spinal is just the original sticks. And they make your legs jump. I kicked the nurse in the knee, totally out of my contol. Andy said she deserved it tho 'cause she forgot to take my IV bag and nearly pulled the needle out of my arm on the way out of the prep room.

Hey guys, Had my 1st gig last night post-baby. It went well, the turn out was better than expected considering we did not advertise and we have been on hiatus for about 10 months due to my pregnancy. We (the band) tryed to keep our obligations to gigs early on but my voice was not cooperating due to severe allergies the entire time. But It's back now! I'm a little tired this morning (MORNING its noon!) I had three beers to take the edge off (I still get nervous) and I haven't drank in awhile. DH is going to Atlanta on business on Sun. Then theres the Damn Cat...thats his new name. My eldest son found a cat last Oct. he was about 4 weeks old and VERY sick. Took him to the vet immediately (he looked like he'd die any second) he had pneumonia, both eyes where infected, mang, and so on. couple of days ago the buttface cat went AWOL (AGAIN) for three days and came back with a gnarly wound on his tail. Tail was swollen and totally limp. DH says take him to the vet. Ok....FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY $$$$$$$$ later, I get back a cat with a shaved tail (pretty funny at least) and a bag of antibiotics. They may still have to amputate his tail if it doesn't heal and regain sensation. The Dr. said it looked like he was bit by either another cat or a possum maybe a raccoon (cuz of the severe infection.) Did I mention how much the Damn Cat cost the initial vist to the vet. Believe me you don't wanna know. We will call him Steve Austin the 6 million $$$ cat! :D
Lauren, some of the higher end department store carry nylons without the toes. It think its Donna Karen and Calvin Klein. Have fun!
Karen, Ds#2 was only gone for a very little bit at me hosp. just to get a shot , a bath, and various screenings maybe 2 hours. Good luck and congrats!!! Are you using and pain meds??

Karen--that is horrible about strapping your arms down..I am glad they didnt have to do that with my C-Section..I was able to even hold her in the OR suite the when they were sewing me up..DH had to give her some ENfamil since her sugar was so low...They I held her all the way to the recovery room and that is when they took her..
