Week of~~May 28th~~

Good Morning Everyone.

We had plans to go to PA to a resort for golf and swimming today, but Alex woke up with a cough and fever. So we will be staying home. I'm sorta bummed, but I won't miss the two hour car ride.

Hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.

lppennington 05-28-2006 01:04 PM

Well I have nothing going on this long weekend. I went to the pool yesterday and got a horrific sunburn on my back, shoulders and face. I hope the burn goes away by Thursday, I have a job interview in Cincy. (wish me luck)

Lisa

Kath32769 05-28-2006 11:43 PM

Hi, new here. Not much going on for this weekend. We had a friends daughters b'day party today. Other than that it's pretty quiet.

LBH 05-29-2006 08:06 AM

Hi All!

We're having a great weekend here! Saturday we cleaned in the AM, then went to IL's for a couple hours for MIL's bday. Yesterday the kids were outside a good part of the day. They played really hard! First we have this crazy flower sprinkler thing that flings the water around...boys got soaked! Then DH put the kiddie pool at the end of the slide and the hose over top and Peter had a great time on the "water slide". Then I set up the slip and slide and they both had a great time. I took some pics, I'll see how they came out and post later. Today we have to go pick up that fridge at the warehouse. Unfortunately the credenza's went to the trash, because DH's boss didn't know he was going to take them. :( So we still don't have much toy storage. We'll have a BBQ later this afternoon.

This was not a good week diet wise. I just couldn't get myself OP. Going to try and get it back together this coming week.

Lisa, good luck at the interview!! :crossed: I got some freckles yesterday, that's about it!

Skyy1067 05-29-2006 08:11 AM

Hello!

Last Monday was the start of my "Life Change". I pulled out the ole Gazelle and could only do 15 minutes on it with MUCH struggling. Last night I did 25 minutes and was only a wee bit out of breath.

This is such a rush!!!! Who would have guessed that I would ENJOY exercise!!!???

Hope ya'll had a fantastic weekend!

Skyy

LBH 05-29-2006 09:04 AM

Hi Skyy! :welcome:

lppennington 05-29-2006 09:14 AM

:welcome3: Skyy!

Lauren, I will have freckles once my burn goes away. I still am in some pain from the burn. I knew better than to lay out in the sun. (What was I thinking?)

not much going on here today. My dad is going to mow the lawn, and that's the big excitement here. (I lead a really excitng life)

Lisa

KarenK 05-29-2006 11:41 AM

Hi guys.

Welcome Skyy!

Lauren: Sounds like the boys had a good time.

Lisa: Ouch. Sorry about the burn. Aloe it well!

We have spent the entire weekend in the house with a sick child. I couldn't get the fever below 103 yesterday. He would nap for a bit then wake up miserable. Poor baby. It was high again this morning, but the Motrin worked and it's gone for now. He wants to go outside to play, but I don't want to push it! We will go out this afternoon in the fever stays away.

LBH 05-29-2006 05:18 PM

Aww Karen, poor kid. :( Hope the fever breaks or goes away or whatever. Robby's been crabby boy for a couple days. Not sure why, because he's not acting like it's teeth, he's walking around pouting and whining and clinging to me.

We went to p/u the fridge with the old Caravan we got for almost free last year...and it died at the warehouse! Thank God I followed DH in his truck! So we have the fridge in the van, but have to go back later tonight and call AAA. Sooo close...

Stevi-rocks 05-29-2006 07:45 PM

Hey all....

Lauren, congrats on the close call...phew!
Lisa, Congrats on your interview. Sorry about the burn. I'm extremely fair so I feel ya!
Karen, Hope the baby feels better!(((hugs)))
WELOME SKYY!! ( Ivanna see my feet!!! LOL)

My weekend was as uneventful as I had predicted. Most exciting thing to happen is my 14 yr old son hates me......AGAIN. But thats a longggggggg story. He's with his Dad for the week to isolate his from his beloved friends. That'll teach him to lie and tell me I suck. (yeah right) Somebody tell me it gets better!!!! Lie if you have to.lol

Diet is fine, haven't weighed but there is no reason for anything but a loss. I'll weigh tomorrow.

lppennington 05-29-2006 10:28 PM

Today it was 93 degrees with a heat index of over 95. Mom and I went shoping and bought a grill, which I had to put together with my ded. (remind me not to do that again) We finally ate dinner at 9 pm.

Rest of day was uneventful. I switched from aloe (which wasnt helping) to cocoa butter - much better.

Lisa

LBH 05-30-2006 08:47 AM

Lisa, did you try white vinegar? My Gran has always sworn by it and it really does help. She always "pickled" us by soaking paper towels with it and laying it on out sunburn. It helps take the heat out.

mamabear272 05-30-2006 01:50 PM

:welcome2: Skyy! Glad to have you with us!

Lisa, good luck, I'm sending good vibes your way!!

Stevi, I don't know about it getting better...my oldest is 14 but also a girl! So I have PMS fits to deal with on top of "teenager" stuff! I think I'd have popped him in the mouth for telling you that you suck but that's just me. :lol3: I flicked Andrea in the mouth one time for smarting off to me. Not that it has stopped her...lol

Well I had play group with the man today. I had to go back early cause he was really upset! They said he did good for about 20 minutes then was off and on crying. They called me an hour later cause he was inconsolable. I went and stayed the rest of the time with the group. I think that's what I'll do from now on is leave for about an hour then go back till he gets used to it. All in all not a bad experience though!

Saturday I was down .6. I'll take it!! It's better than up .6. Well I'm off for now, the man is up from nap. Make it a great day everyone!!

KarenK 05-30-2006 09:32 PM

Hello everyone,

I am happy to say that the boy is finally feeling better. He was still wanting to lay around a bunch today, but he did play some. The cat has decided that she LOVES laying right in the middle of his train table. He has been so nice about it. Her tail will be laying across the tracks and he just picks it up and runs the trains under it and then lays it back down. I guess she likes laying on the table enough to put up with it :).

I'm still miserable on the 6 meals a day. I hadn't gained any weight the last time I wieghed, but I don't know how. I'm probably going to be starving to death once the baby comes! I wonder if it's going to be difficult to get back to no more between meal snacking.

Lauren: Did you get the fridge and the van back? Our home remedy that involves vinegar is for sprained ankles. You soak brown paperbags in white vinegar and then wrap the injured ankle and cover with ace bandage. You stink to high heaven, but it's supposed to help.

Stevi: Yikes. Hope things are settled soon. It's easier to put them in timeout at 3!

Lisa: Hope the burn is better and GOOD LUCK on the interview.

20 days!

Stevi-rocks 05-30-2006 09:51 PM

Hidy Ho Neighbors!
Down 1.5 this morning! ~Alright~ I had to refer to my fitday to see what I weighed when I found this site and I've lost 10 lbs since 5/10. Is that excessive? Not that I'm complaining but I don't wanna struggle to keep it off when I hit goal.
Karen, happy to here the lil one is feeling better, sick kids is no bueno!
Molly, I'm sooo sorry for wht you have been through. J/K.
Lisa, bet the heats not helping that burn!

lppennington 05-30-2006 11:48 PM

Hey if this burn isnt better I will go out and buy vinigar if we dont have it in the house. As for the temps, I've been in air conditioning, and actually I was less stiff when I was outside.

Karen, glad to hear that Alex is doing better. That had me worried.

Lisa

RoadRunner 05-31-2006 05:05 AM

Good Morning..It has been awhile..
Congrats Lisa on graduation!! Vinegar has been my trick for burns also..How miserable...

Karen--glad Alex is better..
K fell at Walmart on Sunday and hit the suntan lotion rack in the middle of the aisle and split her forehead open..I panicked when I picked her up and her face was covered in blood..Of course the b@$@# in the pharmacy says to me "I guess U let her fall out the buggy" before even getting me paper towels for pressure..I almost choked her since I didnt even have a buggy with me..(ok..for the Northerners here--a cart:p :p --my DH hates when I say shopping buggy!!)They stitched her up in the ER and she is back to the little daredevil self again...

Diet wise--about the same..No loss and no gain..I started excercising on the treadmill daily and really watching what I eat..I think I am going to the MD next week and have some bloodwork run to check my thyroid..Never had that done and I just feel tired all the time...
Ok..off to work!!
Hello to all the newbies!!!Congrats to the weight loss to all!!!

Stevi-rocks 05-31-2006 03:57 PM

Welcome Angie!!! Everyone here is just fabulous! Ladies can you believe that both my bedroom TV and the front family room TV went out at the same time!!!!! Going shopping when it cools a bit.

lppennington 05-31-2006 04:36 PM

Angie, we mainly do our own thing, as well as talk about other things going on in our lives. Most of the ladies are married, I am divorced (2yrs- June 1), and I can't recall if there are those that are single.

Stevie, did you buy both tv's at the same time? or was it a power surge? That would be horrible. Maybe homeowners ins. will cover it??? Just a thought.

Karen, how are you holding out? Is there the oppressive heat that we have had there yet? I cant even imagine!

Hello to everyone else.

Lisa

LBH 05-31-2006 06:00 PM

I plan on doing another TJ dvd tonight & staying on plan with my eating.:D
How's everyone?

LBH 06-01-2006 10:39 AM

Hi All, just popping in again. I'm home for day 2 with Robby. He's been running a fever non-stop. :( It did seem to go down a bit finally this AM, but he's crabby as all ****!

2CMEAGAIN 06-01-2006 10:52 AM

I hope Robby kicks the fever today!

KarenK 06-02-2006 08:50 AM

Good morning everyone.

I feel awful, Alex gave me his cough. My throat hurts so much from coughing. I have a doctor's appt today so I'm going to ask if there is anything I can take. Probably not! Sudafed and Tylenol are my doctor's answers to everything. :dizzy: I'm going in for a Non-stress test today and the little darling was up ALL freaking night long. It felt like she was kickboxing. So, of course, she is quiet as a mouse this morning. I will have to drink some OJ (forbidden treat!) to try to kick start her when I get there.

Lauren: I hope Robby feels better.

RR: Yikes, your little one is truely adventuresome! I hope her head is better.

Angie: WELCOME. Yup, jump right in and post away.

Lisa: The heat hasn't been too bad, but I stay in the house as much as possible, with the AC blasting. My DH goes around wearing a sweatshirt. Sorry honey!

Only 17 more days!

mamabear272 06-02-2006 10:25 AM

:lol3: Karen, too funny. DH is just going to have to deal with you freezing him out! At least you don't have to go all summer. I had to 2 out of 3 of my pregnancies. YUK! :p

Lauren, I hope Robby feels better!

:welcome2: Angie! Jump right in!

Ricky has had diarrhea for a few days. I think it's just teeth (getting close to 2 year molar time). I called the Dr and talked to a nurse and she said as long as there's no blood and he's not running a fever (no to both) to just keep with the BRAT diet and Pedialite. He had a bad rash on his butt from it. He's doing better this am, no more diarrhea and the butt is clearing up a little. (whew) So that's been my excitement for the last couple of days. The poor thing screamed bloody murder every time I changed him. He's still a little squeamish thinking that his butters is going to hurt when I change him. Poor man!

Well I'm off to the shower while he's napping. Make it a great day everyone!

LBH 06-02-2006 12:29 PM

Hi All,

I hate my life right now...DH is home with Robby today. His temp was down yesterday afternoon, after I found the Ibuprofen he hid on me in the pantry! It was up again overnight, but he felt cooler this AM. Then I called the Drs. office to find out if they'll still do his surgery tomorrow and had DH take his temp again...101.7. :( So it's rescheduled for 7/5. Peter's is still on though...as long as he doesn't end up with a fever.

Apparently this fever thing is going around. 2 other kids in the infant room, and 3 in the toddler room were down with it. Plus a few of the girls at work had to p/u their kids because they had it. Most don't have any other symptoms except the fever, like Robby, but some are showing coughing and snotty noses.

The diet has gone almost completely out the window....I'm mentally adding points in my head, but it's "pointless" really, because I'm probably consuming about 50-60 at the rate I'm going. :o

Stevi-rocks 06-02-2006 05:12 PM

OK It is hotter than a whore in **** here!!(Pardon my lang) We where doing so well!! Maximum temp was 82 or so...not any more!

LAUREN, (((hugs))) Just for general principals, you poor dear!
KAREN, Baby day is right around the corner! I so want a girl next. What are you going to name her?
MOLLY, Ricky's poor lil bottom! Rashes are the worst! When I was BF #2 ds he had a terrible rash for a week due to passing a lil doody everytime he passed gas! And you guys no you can't smell bf baby poo....I was changing him 10 times in 8 hours!
ANGIE, Good for you! I wish I was modivated to get off my arse. I want what your having!
LISA, Thanks for the idea but they where both about 13 years old! The one in the Family room was purchased when ds #1 was 2! (He's 14) So we are still looking. Prolly tomorrow.

RoadRunner 06-02-2006 06:36 PM

Lauern--I don't hang out much anymore--but what is the surgeries????
When K went in for her stiches to be removed yesterday, she had another ear infection and is now on zithromax..This is 4 since the tubes fell out and 2 in 6 weeks. The pedi wants tube set #3 so we are scheduling it...
Hope #2 does well tomorrow..Keep me posted!!
Hellooo to everyone else!!
Stevie--I saw on the digital thermometer at the bank 107 here today!!! We are in for a hot summer..Just keep the hurricanes away and I can tolerate the heat!!!!
RR

I hope everyone has a great day!:D

LBH 06-03-2006 11:11 AM

Hi All,

Angie, you're doing great!

RR, Peter had meatal stenosis, so they fixed that. Even though Robby was "technically" circ'd, you couldn't tell because of the dumbarse that did it. I even told him ahead of time to get it right, because my MW warned me that he was conservative. It's always bothered me, because he doesn't look circ'd, but at his 15 mon. appt., the ped showed me that the skin had started to "heal" or attach or whatever around the rim, and when he pulled it down, Robby screamed bloody murder. So we went to the Urologist with both of them and he said he could fix both, no big deal.

Peter did great! He kept asking "what are they going to do to me?" and DH told him they're going to tickle him. DH went in with him until they got him out, and when the dr. came out like 15 min. later and brought us to the recovery room, Peter was awake. He was a little whiney, but the nurse said he came out of the anesthesia well. He immediately wanted to go home, but they had to monitor his vitals for a little bit and they wanted him to drink...I guess to make sure he didn't throw up.

Anyway, he just pee'd for the first time and cried that his pee-pee hurt. I gave him some ibuprofen and then made my mom put the creme in...I was cringing at the thought. DH & I must've had the weirdest looks on our faces when they told us we had to put the little tube tip in there and squeeze some antibiotic ointment in, but my mom just did it for the first time and Peter didn't even twitch...in fact he held his pee-pee in place for her!

OK, enough about that...sorry if that was TMI for some of you!! :o

It's rainy and cold here today...staying inside and watching movies I guess.

Stevi-rocks 06-03-2006 01:34 PM

Lauren, I thought I was the only one that happened to! My #1 ds had a 5cm attachment after a crappy circumsicion, also at the base of the tip....took him to the Urologist when he was nearly two and the dumba$$ suggested he just pull it (TEAR IT) right then and there...I was like , ummmm how bout NO! The Dr. said the head was too porious and he could not administer a local anisthetic (sp?) , he advised me to pull at it several times a day until it released but this ened up being extremely uncomfortable to DS, so I waited til he was older and had an out patient procedure done when he was 9. It just had to be done before any real growth happened. This procedure they used a local (!!??) and he had two stiches and its like it never happened, with DS #2 I was sure to check him in the Hosp. for any attachments and he is perfect. I'm really glad your ordeal was short lived! :)

RR, My lord thats HOT....I will now refrane from complaining about my meager 85 degrees.:)

LBH 06-03-2006 07:43 PM

Stevi!! OMG, that's insane!! :faint: I can't believe the dr. suggested that!! DH & I are having mixed feelings about having it done at this point, since it's not *necessary*, but it drives me crazy, and the thing that sealed it for me is that my DCP's DS, who is 20, recently asked her why he wasn't circ'd. She was like, HUH?! Same thing, didn't take enough off. So she told me she wanted the Urologist's name. She told her son to have it looked at, she doesn't want to see it at 20 y/o! :lol3: BTW, they will do it under general, not local...not crazy about that, but after seeing how well Peter did today, I feel better about it.

RoadRunner 06-03-2006 08:48 PM

Lauren--From a surgical nurse viewpoint--We have men 20's to 50 's comming in for circs because of infections etc..U R smart to do it now..I would say that a circ revision and the meatotomy are our most common procedure--We have more redo's than anything..

Stevie--what a jerk MD!!!
Take care...glad that Peter did good!!!!
RR

lppennington 06-03-2006 11:24 PM

Woah, thanks for sharing all those lovely images in my head! :p That is more than I will ever need to know, I think.

Well, I am back from the interview, and didn't get the job. I have my resume out to a couple more places though, So I am not feeling too desperate ~ yet! :) Once those are exausted, I think that I will have to go to a recruiter. I honestly don't know of anything else. Hopefully something comes along soon.

Lisa
