Measurement day...

  • I have been measuring myself every 2 weeks. Here are the results from the past 2 weeks:

    I LOST 9 1/2 INCHES!

Total loss: of 11 inches since January 2nd.

Now the humbling part of my thread....

Mel gave me some really good advice a few weeks back and that was to incorporate weight/strength training into my work out. I got all offended and took some things the wrong way, when she had the best of intentions in her advice. So I want to say I am sorry Mel and thank you for the great advice. I lost 9 1/2 more inches with my weight training the past 2 weeks then I did the first 2 with cardio alone. I bow to the master!
  • Congrats, that's awesome!
  • Awesome results!! Weight training will do it everytime!! Keep up the great work and keep us posted!
  • Hi Libby No offense taken here, and I'm thrilled for you!

    Mel
  • Thank you for being so good about my previous behavior.

I simply can't believe what a difference strength training has made. Can't wait to hit the weights again tomorrow.
  • Today was measurement day again. In this past 2 weeks I've lost another 8 3/4 inches. I have lost a total of 20 1/4 inches since January 2nd.

Wish me luck, weigh in day is Tuesday.

Just got back from the gym and I'm feeling GREAT!!! I hope everyone has a blessed and happy Saturday!
  • Question for you.
I have heard a lot of people say that you should measure yourself instead of weigh yourself. What parts are you measuring to keep track? Just bust/waist/hips?
Any tips would be great. I often get frustrated when I don' see the results on the scale. I think I might try the measuring instead.
  • Angel, a lot of people measure all of those plus thigh, upper arms, and anything else that you want to reduce. Hope that helps.
  • What I measure

    Angel:

I measure my waist, hips, thighs, upper arms and neck. Eventually I will probably measure my lower arms and calves as well. Also, I give myself a weigh-in day every 3 weeks. That way I am bound to see some progress. I was addicted to my scale and had to have hubby hide it on me. Never did I think I could have that kind of problem!

I measure myself every 2 weeks. It gives me goals to achieve. Like...I want to lose 2 inches by next measurement day or I want to lose 3 lbs by next weigh-in day. I don't beat myself up if I don't achieve those goals, but I tend to aim lower and make them more obtainable.

    Best of luck to you.
