OK, let's try this again... :D

Lisa, Hang in there!

PJ, Sounds like you made the right choice. Enjoy your "me" time.

Karen, Good for you staying out of the chocolate! :nono: I don't mind Peter taking a shower with me, except when AF is here...TMI. It's just getting Robby to "play" quietly in his crib while I'm in there that's impossible! My recruiter just had knee surgery Tuesday, so she's out for awhile, but her partner is supposed to be getting back to me about a job. And someone else in the office is supposed to get back to me about the other job that I interviewed for.

Rabbit, Congrats on the loss!! :cheer: Hope you're feeling better soon.

RR, Yeah, didn't think of that...oops. Stay safe! Hey, do you work at that women's hospital they are talking to people from in BR? Sucks about daycare. What the heck is the curriculum fee for?? Shouldn't that be included in the tuition?!

OK, off to have dinner! Hi everyone!

Good Morning!!!
Lauren--I dont work at the WOman's Hospital but that was were K was born..I work at the largest hospital in the state that was Command Central...Dh fussed at me for "bringing my work home and being sad all the time" I got sooo mad--how do U not get upset admitting a baby for surgery whose mom is in a shelter in Tx, a lady who tore her ACL fighting in the Superdome to live, a lady with a detached retina that was hit in the eye, everyone U come in contact with(visitors, family) that have lost everything, People walking around lost in the stores, hospital etc that U know are in a shelter from the colored bands on their arms...He is just way too selfish sometimes...Now it is the left behind pets..When I saw on the news about the dogs and cats sitting on flooded cars and porches crying for their masters, I almost lost it..I will volunteer this weekend to be a dog walker in the temp shelter for pets until owners are located....It is just alot of grief and now Hurricane Ophelia is comming for Florida...I think everyone has had enough for now....
Off to work...Good Morning all...
RR

RR, I think I was almost more upset seeing them rescue all those pets, then the people that didn't want to leave! :( If I was down there, I would definitely be volunteering at the shelter! You are closer to it than DH, he just doesn't understand...but I'm sure when it comes down to it, he is supportive.

Morning all! Just a quick check-in.

Good news is, I lost 3.8# this week! :) First week back OP so that was nice, now I've just got to keep it up! Only got 1 walk in this week, and I need to get better about that, but for now I'm pretty happy with last week.

Rabbit - Congrats on the .8 loss!

RR - Hang in there. I appreciate what you're doing, and I'm SURE the people you're helping do too!

Hello to everyone else! I'll be out of town for the weekend camping, so no computer, but I'll check back in Sunday night or Monday.

Hello all, I don't have much to report. I am busy with school and work. As a matter of fact, this week has been extremely crazy. Now all weekend I have homework, not that I am complaining, it is keeping me out of trouble. Anyways, just thought I would say "Hi".

RR, stay safe and I am still sending prayers for you and your family. I think your DH is just as frusterated as you, and he just took it out on you. Don't worry about it. I'm sure he realizes that you see much, much more of it on a day to day basis - and that it will effect you. Just remember - you can vent to us. It helps us understand, you can only get so much from the t.v.

Hi all!

I have missed a few days - I even missed my WI - but I will do it later today - we finally got rain here - a blessing since no rain since July 6 and we were so dry - major fire waiting to happen.

RR - I really feel for you and yes please - share with us everything - your experience puts us there with you - and I know what you mean about the animals - to me it seems wrong to not encourage people to keep there pets with them in a crisis - most people - I know I do - treat they pets like children and if they all had there "babies" with them in the shelters - there would be less sadness and fighting because they would still have that unconditional love that only a pet can give - and whe you have lost everything else - you need that. I for one would have to be drug kicking and screaming - probably at gun point- to leave my dogs behind - even the cats - the horses I would set loose and the chickens - well they are kinda dumb and hopefully would find a safe place to roost - but my dogs are my babies and they need me as much as I need them and I couldnt live with the thought of them stranded without food or water or me. The image of the little boy being ripped from his dog still kills me -

Lisa - sounds like you are in full school swing - hang in there - at least if you are studying you arent eating - LOL

LBH - Hope you got a shower in - a friend of mine used to strap her baby into his car seat and put him on the bath room floor so she could see him and talk to him while she showered and a toddler would have fun if you give them some toys and let them sit at the other end of the tub in the shower with you - but it depends on the space and the kid and like you said no AF. Good luck with that - my dogs like to shower with me but they cry the whole time acting like they are cold - big babies (little babies)

Best to everyone - chat later.

LL- what do you guys mean by reading only by the mid-terms. Maybe its an idea that I can check out. I have also been getting good grades. My GPA is 3.6 I am really surprised because usually the less classes I have the worse I do. I am taking 2 classes per semester but its 11 credits. 7 for nursing and 4 for Chemistry. We will have to have an online party when we graduate May 6 together!!!! :woo:

Karen- what is your expected grad date?

LBH and Rabbit- thanks for the encouragement!!! :cp:

RR- My co-workers name that went there is Judy Jax. She is our trauma cordinator. Maybe one day you will run into her. You never know. Nursing is a small world. :high:

wow so many of you have posted since I have been gone. I didn't realize how much time had gone by without me posting. I've been busy with school and work and of course the family I really haven't been online too long except to read mail and check my blackboard notes for school. I have started a personal website for myself to "keep myself in check". I try to write everyday, with people reading it I feel accountable. But even with that I haven't been able to write everyday. Anyone interested in checking out the site its http://melis92270.blogspot.com . Let me know what you think. :listen:
