We are all where you are. I have had a couple of good days. My usual pattern is to do well for about a week and then to fall off of the wagon...hard. Tell us a little bit about yourself. I would like to lose some weight, but right now things are hetic in my life right now and with the holidays ahead etc. I would like to get on track come the 1st of the year. I do try and drink lots of water though and that always help. However, the support here whether you losing or not is nice. RR: Love the pictures. She is a cutie pie!!!!! Karen: Hope you guys are having a good day. Hello to everyone else. Off to do some more packing etc. Shooting for next weekend, but it might be the following weekend. I want to get it over with. Have a good week everyone. Jackie |
Thank you all for the warm welcome! A little bit about me huh? Ok! I am single again, no children. I am living with my parents and it doesn't help that my mom loves to bake and bring home goodies. (I don't have very good will power.) :o I am back in college going for a duel major so stress is high, and I have one late class that lets out around 11pm. I eat when I get home too and that doesn't help either. I can't think of anything else so if you have any questions just let me know. :coffee: <-- That's me
|
Hi All!! I'm baaack!! ;) We had a great time in San Francisco!! Although I will say right off the bad, prego or not, I would NEVER live in a city, nevermind one with soo many hills!! :lol3: We thought, oh, it's only .7 mi. from the hotel to the Fairmont, where the reception was...NOT! I was exhausted after walking 2 blocks to the Walgreen's! The wedding was beautiful though, it was at the Church of Saints Peter & Paul. Unbelievable how gorgeous this church was, I'll post pics when we get them developed and scanned. The reception was equally as gorgeous! It was at the Fairmont, which is the "Gone with the Wind" hotel. It was on the top floor (24th, I think), in the Crown Room. It's all huge windows, all the way around, with the most gorgeous views of the city. My BIL sure knows how to party too! What a reception! He had a whole group of his buddies from Boston come out for the wedding and they are a rowdy bunch! FIL kind of ruined things by drinking and getting all pissy, making MIL cry...which drives me insane because no one will say anything to him...but overall, it was an awesome event! The only sightseeing we got to do was Fisherman's Wharf on Friday. The weather was gorgeous, in the 70's and sunny. The Sea Lion's were a hoot to see...and hear! There had to be hundreds of them all hanging out sunning themselves on the docks, and barking away! Of course I forgot to bring the camera, so no pics.
I miss my boy, and can't wait to pick him up tomorrow at daycare! Mom's had him since Thursday. She's been having a blast with him, I don't think he misses us much! :( DANI!!!!!! What a pleasant surprise to come home to see a post from you! I have been thinking about you and LE and Setina also! Whoa!! I'm soo glad to hear that things are going well for you! AWESOME on the loss and good for you going back to kick boxing! Congrats on the new job also, I can just imagine how lucky those kids are to have such a loving person like you as their teacher! I'm just thrilled that you checked in! Please check in when you can! Lisa, WELCOME! Maybe you can fanagle your mom into cooking healthier treats?! Good for you going back to school, I've considered it a few times. Jackie, hope you're not getting sick. :( I'm still a little sick, mostly just the darn post nasal drip annoying me, but it's getting better. RR, awesome pics! She just soo cute! to everyone else! I'll check to see what I missed tomorrow! |
Good evening!!!
Lauren--Glad U made it back safely!! I would go nuts without K for any length of time!!! Trick or treating was a blast..I dropped the candy off first thing today at work so it is no temptation to me!!!Out of the house and out of my life!!! Lisa- Sounds waY too busy for me...I cant see myself going back to school any time soon!! I respect any one who can..Maybe drink water after that late class and lock yourself in the room!!  WELCOME again!!! Gotta run..my best friend is miscarrying and I am worried sick..Unfortunately,. I can relate all to well.. RR |
Hi all,
Lauren: Glad that you had a good trip. Sounds like you had a lot of fun. I can't imagine being without Alex that long. RR: I'm sorry about your friend. Aunt Flo played an awful trick on me yesterday. She decided to come 4 days late. Let me get all excited and then Boom. I'm just about ready to stop trying. I can't believe that people do this for years. How on earth do they do it? |
I am at work and I could really use some chocolate! Today has been one of those days where everything goes wrong. I am however not going to get any. I know that it is not good for me. I also have to eat out tonight so I was thinking Subway, cause it is healthier.
|
Hi All,
Lisa, good for you withstanding the chocolate beastie!! You're better than me! Subway would be fine, as long as it's a nice lean sandwich! I think they have a turkey sandwich that is low in fat (6 gm. or less?) Karen, Ugh, old hag, she's just rotten! Karen & RR, I cannot tell you how much DH & I missed Peter!! I swear he changed while we were away!! I kept getting up last night to check on him, was surprised that he slept all night! My mom called me this AM to see how he was...she missed him and was up half the night waiting for him to come crawl in her bed! RR, I'm sorry about your friend, how's she doing? to everyone else! |
hi all. I'm having a few problems with the thread today and I'm busy so I'll try to make this short.
Lisa - welcome to the group! RR - great pics! Hoping surgery goes well tomorrow. ~ I also got rid of the candy the day after halloween. I sent it to work with dh. Jackie - have fun moving! :) Lauren - sounds like you had a great time in SF! I loved going there. Rabbit :D don't forget to vote! |
Hi everyone......cooking dinner so will try an keep short.
RR: Hope your friend is doing okay. I will keep her in my prayers. Hope things go well for Kaylee's surgery tomorrow. Lisa: I am also a chocolate loverl. I have to have some every day! LOL I commend you for not giving in. I love subway too. Although I sometimes don't eat the real good healthy stuff there. Karen: Sorry about Aunt Flo. Lauren: Sounds like you had a good time, glad your back safe and sound Rabbit: Hello, and yes I voted today! I still miss DS who is 12, when he's gone. Especially this past May when I went to visit my Mom for a whole week. I remember Brandon primping up and crying for several hours after I left because I was leaving him home. That was the 1st time we had ever been apart for that long. It broke my heart to see him so sad, but at the same time knew I had to be there for Mom. Well, more delays with the house, needless to say we won't be able to move this weekend, we are hoping for next weekend. Keep your fingers crossed. Gotta run and take up dinner. Jackie |
Good Morning Everyone,
This time change has really messed up Alex's morning schedule. He used to sleep until 8-8:30. Now he's up between 6:30 and 6:45. Ugh. I need just a little more sleep! He did nap for the better part of 3 hours yesterday. I took the opportunity and napped with him. Here is a pic of his NON-costume for Halloween: http://ajk.apkweb.com/costume.jpg And this one is all dressed up for the wedding. He would NOT look at the camera: http://ajk.apkweb.com/wedding.jpg I hope everyone is having a great week! |
Karen, CUTE PIC! Love the little dress up outfit! He's looking like such a little boy now.
Jackie, sorry about the house issues. >:( Hope they get you in there soon though. Rabbit, Hope the problems are straightened out! RR, check in as soon as you can!! |
Hello all..Just a quickie update..When we got to the hospital, her fever was 100.1 so they contemplated cancelling us but decided to go ahead..They redid the tubes, removed the adenoids and irrigated her sinus clean..He cultured everything so we shall see if any thing grows..She has been in bed since we got home..She screamed, cried etc and refused to drink anything so I begged a friend to discharge us so that we could leave and hopefully she would be less scared at home..She has not eaten anything and just been sleeping...Mom is watching her tomorrow....
Off to recheck!! RR |
Hello all.......
RR: Thanks for checking in, glad they were able to go ahead with the surgery. Sending get well wishes that she gets back to normal soon! Karen: Cute pictures, especially the one in the dressy outfit. Well it looks like things might be getting better with the house. Boy I am glad. THey are going to finish tiling the island in my kitchen and the back porch tomorrow and Friday, and then we have to get one more coat of varnish on the doors, and then the plumbers have to come back and install the misc parts that were not included with our special order shower kit. So hopefully, next Tues or Wed we can get our final inspections and get power on. Talk to you all later |
Karen - really cute pics!
Rr - glad surgery is over with and hope she gets feeling better soon. I have piano lessons tonight and have been very lax about practicing this week. uh oh. Rabbit |
Ok I have to admit it was a really bad day yesterday so instead of stopping at Subway I went to Burger King, and I got a chocolate milkshake. Today I did much better though. (No chocolate) :D
RR - I know how bad ear aches can be. I used to get them all the time, still do every now and again. I also had tubes put in my ears twice, and all the other stuff too. I eventually out grew them. Not that its very comforting. I loved the picture of the little boy, I'm sorry I didn't get the name. I was wondering how to get my goal and progress on a line like some of the other people. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appriciated. Thanks :^: |
Hi All,
Lisa, that's from tickerfactory.com. I will warn you though, there's been an overload of them recently, and it's been slowing the loading time (ticker factory & 3FC) down for some people. Glad you did better yesterday than the day before! Rabbit, when did you start taking piano lessons? Did you ever play when you were a kid? I begged my mom for piano lessons when I was little, around 9 or so, and she bought me a used piano and sent me for lessons...well, I hated to practice, so she finally stopped! :( I regret not sticking with it, I wish I could play. Jackie, glad things are looking up with the house. RR, glad everything went well! Hope Kaylee is feeling better today. :grouphug: Peter's entering the clingy stage I think. :( Either that or it's leftover anxiety from us leaving him for our trip. The past two days at daycare he is freaking out when I try to leave him! :( He cries and says Up Mommy, Up, Up!! It's heartbreaking. |
Good Morning All,
I hope everyone is having a super morning. Alex decideed he didn't need sleep last night, so guess who else didn't get any. I'm a grumpy bear this morning! Lisa: You can go to your user CP and create a signature. You can put whatever you want in the signature: your goal wt, current wt etc. It would look like Lauren's signature. The same thing will appear everytime you post a message. Lauren: Are the tickers really slowing things down? I'll take mine down. I didn't know they were causing a problem. Ohhh. What an awful way to start the morning. That would be so hard. I hope he gets back into the routine soon. Gotta go. Little guy needs me. |
Karen, there was a discussion about the tickers, basically, whenever a new one is added, it just takes longer for the page to load, because it's a picture from another site, you know? Once it's cached, everytime you load, it's right there...KWIM? Apparently tickerfactory is getting a lot of traffic these days and it's slowing them down. It's really an individual thing. I personally don't notice any difference...no need to remove yours!!
You know, you guys can add custom siggys too, like the signature cards you see on other boards. I don't see many here, but I do have one on the other board I post on, a parenting board. |
hello.
Lauren - I started taking piano lessons in the summer. No, I had no music lessons as a child and have never even read music before. So I've got a lot to learn! ~ Hope Peter gets over the clinginess. Sounds like it could be from your trip. Rabbit |
Thanks so much for the info I think I got it.

Just checking in: been super busy lately ~ my parents when to the Oregon coast for a week, so I am short babysitters. DH took DS to "the golden dragons" chinese acrobat show last night and I fell asleep nursing Anna, didn't wake till they got back at 11:00. Scot said Wil(2) was really good and sat in his seat through the whole thing.
Welcome lisa! - I'd give you a bunch of tips, but none of them are working for me so far. I can at least say that I haven't gained any weight in the last 4 months. This week I bought a bunch of cliff bars. I have been eating one just as I leave school. My biggest problem eating of the day is when I walk into my mom or grandma's house, haven't eaten anything all afternoon, and graze for 2 hours till I take the kids home. They both keep lost of junk food, candy, and homemade treats all over. My idea with the Cliff bars is that if I walk in there house 20 minutes after a snack, I will be less likely to eat. It is kind of like the theory where you have dinner before you go to a party and then make sure you do not stand next to the food table. So far I haven't been that successful. About 1-3 evenings I have the cliff bar and still eat when I get home. Rabbit: We are getting ready to go to a wedding in April. We will be gone 10 days and are leaving both kids with my parents. I am still a bit freaked out about leaving them behind, plus I am going to have to either wean Anna, or pump the whole time I am gone so I can continue nursing when I get back. She will be 10 months at the time. The wedding is going to be on the carnival cruise ship "miracle". sorry to hear about your friend miscarrying, it sounds really aweful. My friend ~ the one who I made the baby quilt for ~ just had her baby, but something is wrong. At first it wouldn't breath, now he is breathing and eating, but has no muscle tone. They are sending the baby home, but said he might not live to be 2. I guess it is a genetic problem. The whole thing is terrible, I have been getting updates from her best friend and neice almost everyday, but I haven't called her. For one, she has been at the Ronald McDonald house in a town 2 hrs away for about 2 weeks, but also, I just don't know what to say. I almost feel guilty for having such perfect little kids of my own. Still really struggling with eating. I have been as off track as almost possible the last few months. I have been haphazardly keeping a journal to watch for what all the trigggers are. I know what they are, but am still overeating. |
Hi All,
Morrigan, Sorry to hear about your friend's baby. :( I will pray for them. Good for you putting in the effort with the Cliff bars...I'm sure eventually they'll win out! I can't imagine leaving Peter for 10 days!! That's a long time to be pumping non-stop also. I honestly don't know if I'd do it. I mean, I nursed/pumped for Peter til just over a year, but I don't know if I could do it like that. Just remember if you decide to wean, you'll have to start at least a couple weeks before you leave, so she's not going cold turkey and both of you are miserable! Had my 31 week appt. this AM. Have only gained 12 lbs. soo far. :D BP was great as usual. I passed my GTT w/flying colors (109). I start going every 2 wks. now, until 37 wks., then every week! WOW, time is flying!! :yikes: |
Well I am proud of myself. I have two of my Christmas gifts out of the way! Also I normally wear a size 18 or 20 depending on the cut and today I put on a top that was a size 16. :D :D Anyways, I thought I would share my joy.
I am so sorry to hear about everyones losses, or at least losses to friends. :sorry: I have a suggestion for anyone that eats alot of (or a fair amount) of fast food. There is a documentary out called, Super Size Me. I had to watch it for a class, I would highly recomend it. You really don't want to eat it for a while. Plus the documentary isn't gross like some can be. |
Lisa, CONGRATS!!!! Going down a size is a huge accomplishment!! :D
I'm going to start the new challenge thread today...we'll make it a New Year's Challenge, OK?? |
