Week of 3/28

Hi All!!

We had a great time last night at dinner with the in-laws and everyone. Peter had soo much fun with his cousin Blake, who loves him. He ate lots of bread (thanks Blake  ), some rice pilaf and some icecream (thanks Blake & Daddy, just what the kid needed...dairy. )

Today I am locking myself in my bedroom...and DH will entertain Peter...and I'm going through all the clothes. OK, I have to wash most of them first, but then I'm dumping most of them, because I don't wear them, they don't fit, or I don't like them. I came to this conclusion...when Peter wasn't eating well, I was still giving him a bottle of formula. The Dr. told me, well, why should he eat food, if he knows he's gonna get a bottle of formula? So I stopped the formula and he started eating better. It hit me last night (after a day of feeling extremely fat) that I need to get rid of all those clothes, because next season, then I won't have any...I'll have to lose weight so I can buy new smaller clothes!

That's the jist...Peter's crying...

KarenK 03-28-2004 10:21 AM

Hi guys,

Not much going on here this morning. I think we are just going to hang out. The boy is too funny. He loves to turn his walker over and lay on the back trying to bite the axel rod. At least he's playing with his toys and letting me type!!

Lauren: The invitations are going out in the mail tomorrow. Yeah! I can hardly believe he is almost 1.

Hello to everyone!! I hope you are all having a great weekend.

RoadRunner 03-29-2004 07:35 AM

Good Morning...
Yesterday, I lost my best friend of almost 18 years...My cat died yesterday..She was with me through everything and I am soo heartsick...Kaylee touched her little lifeless body and smiled and said "cat" as I told her how much I loved her..Only pet lovers know this heartache....

Hi All,

Vicki, I'm soo sorry.  I know exactly how you feel. :grouphug: Hang in there.

I went to Trader Joe's yesterday and bought some protein powder. This AM I made a shake with it and added some frozen mixed berries and icecubes. I made it with milk, but it says you can make it with milk, water, or juice. I bought a bunch of different frozen fruits, so I may try it with OJ and frozen mango tomorrow. It wasn't bad. I brought a banana to eat too, if that doesn't keep me filled til lunch time.

I told DH yesterday I am done being fat!!

Rabbit 03-29-2004 03:35 PM

hello.

A quick busy weekend. And I'm getting ready to leave in the morning. Unfortunately, it's supposed to rain almost everyday when we are gone. :p
It is gorgeous weather here today, wish it would stay like that. DH actually mowed the lawn yesterday.

Karen - hooray your room is almost done!

Jackie - sorry to hear your mom is doing so poorly. I must have missed posts about her before.

Lauren - I know what you mean! Best wishes with the new attitude. :)

RR - sorry to hear about your cat.

gotta run all. See ya next week.

Rabbit

RoadRunner 03-29-2004 05:22 PM

RR

JackBlack 03-29-2004 06:53 PM

Hi everyone.....................

Hope you all had a good weekend

RR: Sorry to hear about your cat.

Lauren: Good for you on cleaning out your closet. I just done that a couple of weeks ago and decided to get rid of all the things I could not wear at this time regardless. Believe it or not I could do it again. Sometimes I wonder where all the clothes come from.

Rabbit: My you are busy. This is the first time I have mentioned my mom to anyone on here. We are taking it one day at a time.

Hi Karen

Well FIL is here for dinner so need to run. See ya all later

RoadRunner 03-30-2004 06:36 AM

We saw the Neurosurgeon yesterday with Ms Priss's head and it is still just 50.5 cm..Still off the chart but hasnt grown but 2 cm since 9 months soo he was pleased..Still thinks all is well, but wants to repeat the CT scan and get an Opthmalogy consult before he releases us..I am soo excited but not gonna celebrate yet!!

Diet wise--ate 5 bugles, and 2 cheese puffs...I have to say, much better now that I am writing every little bit down..It is amazing how much U "snack" and dont realize until U feel that tablet and pen in your pocket!!!

Jackie--Still keeping her in our prayers..

Rabbit-U make me tired!!!! :dizzy:

Well...this is my favorite time of the year with crawfish season and strawberry season!!! We had Etouffe and cut up berries last night!! It was delicious!!!
Everyone else....HELLO!!!
RR

LBH 03-30-2004 09:55 AM

RR, good for you writing everything down! That was one thing about WW that I liked, was that you had to journal it and write down the points...if it was too hard to figure out the points, why bother?! I have to start writing the stuff down. I didn't have time to make my smoothie this AM, but I did resist the DD donut holes in the office kitchen! That's a big accomplishment for me!

That's awesome news on Kaylee!! :D You can tell in her pics that things are evening out. When are they doing the next CT scan? Hope he gets to release her soon!

Hi Everyone!!

KarenK 03-30-2004 12:36 PM

Hi guys,

Not much going on here. We went looking for nightstands for our room and an end table for downstairs last night. We came up with nada. I guess we will try Ikea next. We got our doors put back today so it looks more like a real room. Little guy has a hundred toys to play with down here but he's over there playing with two poles that DH bought last night. Kids!

RR: I'm so sorry about your kitty. I lost one last year. DH printed out a beautiful pic of her and we have it on the entertainment center right between a pic of us and one of my nephews. Good news about Kaylee!! I'm so happy that things are evening out. Does she like crawfish?

Lauren: Yeah for you on eating right. It's so hard sometimes.

Jack: Your mom is still in my prayers. Hope she is feeling some better.

Rabbit: You are one busy woman!!

Hello to everyone else. Hope everyone is having a great day.

JackBlack 03-31-2004 08:36 PM

Hi to all............... Where is everyone????????? You all must be busy today.

Not much going on here lately. Been busy as usual at work, and at home. Still waiting to get connected at home. Should be in a couple of weeks or so. Nothing more has changed with my mom, she is still the same. She goes to the dr tomorrow and they will check her kidneys again and maybe will know something different. I am still planning on leaving next Friday to go visit her for the weekend.

Hope everyone is having a good week so far.

KarenK 03-31-2004 10:12 PM

Hi guys,

Hope everyone had a good day. We had a good day. Not much going on.

Jack: Hope your mom is feeling better.

LBH 04-01-2004 08:20 AM

Hi All,

Just popping in quick. Had my hair done last night. I like it, but it's not as drastic a change as I wanted, so I will probably go back next week and have him fix it a bit. Cut off a couple inches and had it highlighted.

Have a great day!

JackBlack 04-01-2004 11:15 PM

Hi everyone.................

Just a quick update on my mom. Her dr appt went okay. She has lost 12 lbs since last week. Blood still shows kidneys elevated, but dr thinks that might be because of being a little dehydrated, so he told her to start drinking more fluids, which has always been hard for her to do. I got to talk to her tonite on the phone and I have to say she sounded like her old self. I feel somewhat better after talking to her. I am still planning to go see her next weekend. I am looking forward to it, but dreading the long drive. I want to get me a new swim suit, mabye one of those tankini one's with the little shorts. That way I am not to exposed when were hanging out at the pool. LOL

I have lots to get done before I go. We hired another person at work this week that is going to help me in my dept. So maybe there is light at the end of my tunnel. I am very excited about the new person.

Lauren: It's always nice to get your hair done. I know what you mean about not being drastic because I have been there too. Although about a year or so ago I chopped all my hair off in a cute short style, and I love it. I will never go back to long hair. Actually the short hair is easier to do in the mornings.

Hope you all have a good Friday

RoadRunner 04-02-2004 07:54 AM

Good Morning all!!! Jackie-great news about your mom!! I hope she continues to improve...U R right, dehydration will make all the kidney function tests go up...Hopefully, all will correct itself!!

We go for Kaylees CT of the brain at 10:30...No sedation!!! Wish me lots of luck that she will cooperate!!!!The worse is, that they will strap her down, and that is gonna hurt me...I go to work at 1pm and work until 9:30 soo DH will have the girls all evening..He will never make it!!! He cant multi-task soo multiple childcare is hard for him..We shall see!!!!
RR

LBH 04-02-2004 08:07 AM

Hi All,

RR, I will be thinking about you all at 10:30 your time this AM! Hope everything goes smoothly. I'll say a little prayer for DH tonight too!

Jackie, Glad to hear things are a little better with your mom. I hope she's able to get the fluids in that she needs.
I really needed a change in hair, but I'm always paranoid, because my hair grows pretty slow. I like the way it looks now, but I just need more of a change. I'm gonna call him this AM and see if he can cut more off tonight. I may just stay happy with the highlights for now.

Having a smoothie this AM. It's sooo yummy...OJ, frozen mango, ice cubes and protein powder. I could drink these all day...but I don't have a blender here!!

Have a great day all!!

JackBlack 04-02-2004 10:26 PM

Good evening all...............................................

Hope everyone is having a good Friday. Not to bad here. I am so glad it's the weekend.

RR: Hope Kaylee's CT scan went well, and hope that DH did okay tonite. We just have one child, and it's hard sometimes for my DH. Thanks for the kind words for my Mom. Sometimes I'm not sure if the report I get from my Dad is exactly word for word, so glad you confirmed what I said. She seems to be excited about me and DS coming to visit her next weekend. Hope you have a good weekend.

Lauren: Sometimes I wished my hair grew slow, but it grows so thick and bushy, that I have to go about every 4 weeks for a trim. I did highlights one time and really loved them.

Karen: How's the room? Hope you are having a good day.

As for the house, we are getting to the end of our money, and we still have things to do, so not sure how it's all going to work out. It sure would be a lot more enjoyable if the money was no problem, especially if money grew on trees.

KarenK 04-02-2004 11:46 PM

Hi guys,

Lauren: I had my hair done two weeks ago and it is AWFUL. I have a big ol' fuzz head. I've been using deep conditioners for the past two weeks and they are not helping. After I wash it I have one huge tangle. It hurts so much even to pick it out. I hope yours is better. Did you get the invite yet?

RR: Hope Kaylee's CT was OK and that DH didn't have too bad a time with all the kids.

Jack: Hope your mom is better. Good luck with the house!! Our room is coming together pretty well. The handy man is coming on Monday (YES!! I'm going to have a laundry chute!!) to finish all the work. Then we just have to wait on the furniture.

We took the boy to Chuck E. Cheese tonight. He was so cute on the little rides. He was so tired but he seemed to enjoy it. Ours is the only CEC that does not give tickets for winning the games. The mayor of Edison considers it gambling so you have to buy the prizes!!

Hello to everyone!!

RoadRunner 04-03-2004 07:45 AM

WOW--CT on a 15month old is a disaster!!! OMG--they papoosed her and strapped her in the machine and she went ballistic..Moving her head forward and backward..At 11:30, we gave up and I put her to sleep in a dark room..Tried it, she woke up and screamed, 12:00 got her sleeping again--no go..Finally she drank Chloral Hydrate and 10 minutes later..was snoozing away..The scan was completed and then she didnt want to wake up..I finally pretended that she drank her juice and they let us leave..My mom had to watch her since daycare was no longer an option..She was high as a kite!!!
Giggling and calling "kitty kitty"..I had to laugh..I then ran to work and sortof kind of accidently saw her report that said.........ALL IS NORMAL FOR HER AGE!!!! NO FLUID, NO MASSES, ALL PERFECT!!!except for mucus in her paranasal sinuses but I knew that already!!!I am soo excited!! I have to act excited when we go for our results!!!
I got home after 9pm--all were fed, #2 was asleep and Kaylee was building with Legos while he was watching hockey!! I snuck in, bathed and then sat next to Kaylee and she laughed and squealed!!!
Have a great day...Off to the Easter egg hunts!!
RR

JackBlack 04-03-2004 08:53 AM

RR: :cheer: :dancer: :cheer: :dancer: Congrats on Kaylee's CT scan. I know you are so happy!!!!!!! Now remember, act surprised! Have a great weekend.

LBH 04-03-2004 06:05 PM

RR< that's awesome news!! Congrats!

Karen, How cool that you're getting a laundry chute! If I ever got a house w/laundry in the basement, I'd definitely want one!! Was it a big thing to do?
YES, got the invite, I forgot to call you, sorry! We'll be there!

We're going to see an open house tomorrow...or at least I am! The house is just a few blocks away from us. Here's a link to the house: http://www.realtor.com/Prop/1034501336?lnksrc=00045 It's a lot more than we want to spend on a house, but in this area, it's actually a good price...how sick is that?! We're hoping FIL will give us a down payment.

I don't think I updated you guys on our situation here. You know that moron that was living upstairs that I always complained about? Well, last Friday, the 26th, they found him dead in his bed! So the cops were here at 7:00 in the AM. Still not sure of the cause of death, but I'm guessing OD or something. The guy was 34. Anyway, the next day, there were some people here. We thought it was his family or something. Now, less than a week later, I think it was Wednesday, 2 new people have moved in!! A woman rents the bedroom above us, and the main bath. Some older guy rents the master br and bath. How sick is that, they couldn't even wait til the 1st of the month!! I was pissed, because I was going to ask them when I brought the rent check down, if we could talk about renting the whole house. Now I'm just pissed, and so is DH. These people are just slum-lords.

So that's where we stand. Hope everyone's having a great weekend!!

JackBlack 04-03-2004 10:56 PM

Lauren: That is awful about your housing situation. I agree with you on them not waiting until the 1st. It sounds like a strange set-up too. I hope you guys can find a house that you like. Buy the way, the house you are going to look at is very nice. I love the inside, especially the windows and the trim around them. Are houses really that much up there? I could not imagine paying that much for a house, but understand a lot has to do with the area you live in. Good luck and keep us posted.

Karen: Somehow I missed the part about the laundry chute until Lauren mentioned it and then I went back and re-read your post. Do you think you will have any problems with Alex throwing his toys down the chute? I was thinking if it were my DS, he would definately try that!

Okay you guys here is my excitement for the year!!!!!! I am in the garage doing laundry, (this is one reason I can't wait for our new house to get done because my laundry room will be inside the house) and DS is at the door and yells "MOM their's a mouse in the garage! Needless to say I dropped everything and ran inside the house. He says he was a little bigger than "Chester", (the deceased hamster we used to have) brown with black eyes and a long tail. I am so freaked out by that and don't know if I will ever be able to go back out in the garage to do laundry. (wishful thinking because who would do the laundry besides me  ) DH is sitting outside in the jeep to see if he comes out. I sure hope he comes out of the garage. Wish I had a trap right now, because I have plenty of cheese. I will let you all know what happens.

JackBlack 04-03-2004 11:28 PM

DH is back in the house and did not see a thing. I think I am going to get some mice/rat traps tomorrow. I hate to kill something, but I have to do something so I know we got him and it's safe to go in the garage. We just remembered that we picked up our toilets and sinks from Home Depot and put the boxes inside the garage. The boxes have little gaps in the side to pick them up so we are thinking that's how he got here maybe. We have lived here 12 years and never seen a rat or mouse.
