Same song, another verse . . .

Hi All!

I'm happy to be back in on the boards, though I wish I didn't need to be, if you know what I mean!

My current weight is 175 and I'm terribly down about it. I had a baby in March of 2013 and just never really got the weight off. I have an older child, too, so between the two and driving around and being the major home-taker in my marriage, there just seemed no time to "get skinny."

So now we have a new baby in the house (I was not pregnant, so no excuses there), and she is wonderful, but, wow, I really, really feel the need to weigh less. Yes, I don't care about healthy, or cute, or fit, or anything. I want to weigh less.

My plan:
Get up every morning and dress for the gym. Waking is usually at 4:45 due to the babies who wake up at that ungodly hour. I can drop off the kids by about 7:30, then I'll head to the gym. Every single weekday. NO EXCUSES!

Eating will be modified paleo/low-carb/local/veg heavy. I would like to get the bulk of my protein from eggs, with 2-4 meat servings a week. My joy will be to get oysters on the half-shell every Friday.

What can I not have? Alcohol. I will also limit myself to dessert on weekends only, though sugar is never my problem. Salty, junky over-processed food is.

Major problems? We have a TON of carb-heavy, fat-heavy food in the house and freezer thanks to the sweet generosity of people and our new baby. Yay for loving family and friends! Boo for lasagne, casseroles, starches, and sinfully-happy, pound-packing sauces.

I don't feel like I can throw it all out, so I just have to eat it going forward. I feel like I'm not going to do well as long as we have it. Makes me terribly anxious.

Oh, and in other news, I just ordered our CSA veggie box! We will get great fresh, local veggies every week, so that cheers me up no end.

Thanks for reading, and I hope I can be as supportive to you all as I know you will be for me. :carrot:
