I asked my hubby for it. He said "I would have never thought of giving you a Fitbit for Mother's Day. It would be like saying 'Happy mother's day, now go lose some weight!'" Hahaha! It's true, he knows me well.
I still have no idea how it works. I'm working on it.
This morning's weight in was a bit of a flop but I'm not discouraged because I know I had it coming the way that I ate last week. But at least I lost 8 ounces, which is better than nothing. And I reached the 35 lb weight loss milestone! Woot!
That sounds great, Pauli! I've always wanted one of those... They do require some special style attention, though.
Stars - I agree that one bad day here and there isn't gonna bring you down. So, same goes for you with Mother's Day!
I have some good news: I finally dropped some pounds! Woosh! They just flew away! I weighed in at 171.5 for the past two days, gym clothes on, no tricks. I couldn't be more excited!
LOL. I'll bedazzle my Fitbit just so I can wear it with the rest of my bling. Hahahaha!
Congratulations on your woosh, RVAScreenwriter!
On a completely unrelated note, don't you hate it when you do a certain new exercise that leaves you breathless and then when you enter your work out in your LoseIt!/Fitbit/MFP, find out that you burned very few calories? I was just watching some TV (my prize to self for finishing my second semester of my PhD with straight As) and I thought "heck, I'll do some jumping jacks so I don't sit on my butt all day" and when I entered the activity on LoseIt it was only 50 calories. Well, there's one exercise I won't do again. What a wash. Poop.
Ugh, Pauli! That's totally annoying. I hate doing jumping jacks. Burpees. UGH. Super ugh. I guess that you at least have an excuse not to do them on their own like that!
Welcome, AliMarie! I am looking forward to the 160s, myself! Congratulations on making it down to join us
...
On a separate note, I'm totally unmotivated regarding Krav Maga class today. I've been working out pretty hard, recently. I've been eating well... I just want to go home and work on my sewing project and to have some yummy dinner with my fella. How about you all? What is your plan for when you skip out on a workout? Do you?
I'm thinking of creating a little penalty system for myself, like where if I skip a scheduled workout that I'll have to do a double workout day sometime in the same week. Like, instead of just doing a morning gym session on Friday, do that plus 30m of treadmill later that day. Thoughts???
RVAScreenwriter - I don't have any scheduled work out. When do you have any scheduled work out time with kids!? LOL. Just kidding, I don't because I'm lazy. But if I've spent too long at the computer with work/school I try to get on the treadmill 3-4 times a week, and if I don't I make up for it sometime during the week.
I was 172.2 this morning. I'm loving my fitbit because it helps me work out a bit more, or at least keep moving. Last night instead of sitting to watch The Goldbergs with my hubby (yes, we LOVE that show), I paced back and forth. It paid off even if it wasn't much.
Supposed to be my weigh in day but we are not going into town like we normally do. And I dont have a scale here at home. I am anxious to see if I lost any this week! Maybe I will get into town tomorow or Sun.
how is everyone else doi ng??
I'm doing pretty great! I haven't weighed in a while, but I've been focusing less on pounds and more on inches and how "solid" I am, as of late. I feel really good. I've been eating very cleanly (I'm taking an 80-20 approach: 80 per cent of the time I'm perfect with calories and greens/complex carbs/lean protein; 20 per cent of the time I'll have like, a burger with a side salad or some such).
I can really feel how my eating has improved my energy!
Also, I went to the gym 5x this week, which is a far cry from my previous sluggish can't-be-bothered attitude.
