Talking Closet of smaller clothes to fit into

So, I have held on to alot of clothes over the years I was gaining weight and as I was losing I would have certain things I would try on to judge my progress by. I seriously had stuff ranging from size 0-14! Does anyone else do this?

Anyways, for the longest time I have had these size 10 Ann Taylor pants that I used to love the way they looked on me. Yesterday morning on a whim, I decided to put them on and they zipped so easily. I was in a hurry so didn't really pay attention to the way they looked, but they felt good. Once I got to work, I realized that the legs and butt were saggy and the waist was huge! They looked terrible, but it felt great that they were big when I couldn't even zip them the last time I tried them on!

When I changed into my gym clothes at the end of the day, I threw them away!

I have boxes of clothes that are too small and I'm loving the fact that I can already fit into some of them! Such a cheap thrill/motivator for us! Congrats!

I'm sorting through my closet as we speak (the closet containing my business clothes). I've been taking accumulated vacation time this summer, so I haven't been to work and I've been wearing shorts & exercise/track pants. I haven't even tried to wear any of my business clothes until this morning.

I started with the pants. Good news and bad news. The good news is most are too big...the only ones that fit are the size 8's and some of the size 10's (depending on the cut). The bad news is I thought I'd have well over a dozen pairs that would fit...nope, I'm down to perhaps a half dozen. Some of them I can probably alter, but I will need to go shopping!

Next I have to try on my jackets...

Tuscany-- it's kind of a wonderful problem to have to go shopping. My problem is that I have lived in Florida and just moved to Chicago, so I have ZERO cold weather clothes. I have one rain jacket and one pair of closed toe shoes, lol. The last time I needed winter clothes was 4 years ago, and I am back down to the weight I was then, but I have also had a breast reduction, so I have no idea how to dress my body. I am finding that the old standby styles don't always work, and I am having to try on things I always thought would never work for me. Fun times.

Wow, Im jealous.....I have clothes that are smaller but I am not fitting into them quickly enough....I have had such a rough job, 4+ deaths, fights with relatives, etc that I just cant seem to stay on track. I have been hitting the gym on almost a daily basis and I notice a bit of a difference but Im still not happy....I should have lost at least 30lbs by now, but nope. I am so discouraged

Missys Mom, summers can be rough, especially with everything you have gone through. I'm so very sorry for your loss and I hope you will find a job soon and that things settle and you find peace with relatives.

Take all the negativity and put it behind you. Fight for yourself because you are worth it. I'm actually impressed that you were able to push through so many difficulties and rather than gaining, you were still losing. You're headed in the right direction and that's a wonderful thing. I think most people give up because they might be losing but not at the rate they would like and if they would only be more patient, then could eventually reach their goal. Instead, they end up giving up completely and gaining more weight.

It took me a month of plateau to actually see a one lb. loss and I think normall I would have been very disappointed, but I was actually expecting to see a gain so I was delighted (I even posted about this on Weight Loss Support) and many people confirmed that they had similar experiences.

Little differences (that you are seeing) end up adding up to big differences so please be kind to yourself...keep up the good work and make sure your calories are in a good range.

Yeah I know what you mean....I have kept clothes all the way from high school. I sometimes miss the chance to wear old clothes because by the time I try them on...I'm past that size and its too big.

Sadly, I have an entire bottom drawer filled with smaller sizes, and also some in the closet. I didn't expect to gain back so much weight after battling with the move across the country, but I did. So now I am working my way back down into the smaller sizes, and while they are snug, they fit.

Going through the closet is the best reward! I can't wait to fit back into some of my skinny clothes. This time when I shrink out of things, they're going to be donated immediately-then I will have nothing to expand back into.

Argh I'm in the stage of trying on all the smaller stuff - and still not fitting! I can't wait to wear it all again so it's great reading your success stories :-)
