Disappointed!

  • I went over my recommend caloric intake today by 200!! I haven't hit the gym yet, but am planning on 30 minutes of elliptical torture, 10 minutes on the treadmill with a 3 minute cool-down and then reintroduce myself to strength training.

On a good note, my carb intake was still under the allowed amount for me (according to myfitnesspal) and I went over 1 pt on my protein intake. I am trying to change but man, Justin brought home Smith's (Kroger) delicious garlic bread and I could not resist! I let my frustration from today get to me and I devoured close to 3 servings worth. Not to mention I had more soda than I planned on. I ended up tossing the last 1/3 - 1/4 of the can though.

So bummed. I can't let myself go over much, especially with a two week vacation coming up. I have dropped six pounds since I started working on changing, but this just sucks!

I want to be ready for the 5k Dirty Girl Run in February! Mistakes like this, I know they will happen but I have to be careful because I want to have fun and not worry about possibly having a heart attack while tackling that wicked obstacle course.
  • I hear ya, I went over today by 625 calories. Yikes! I think I knew I had to be smarter, thought about food all day and just caved. Luckily I have worked out today more than usual. Still thinking of doing more to combat all those unwanted calories I had today. I just think I have to think tomorrow is another day.

I to am going on a vacation in 4 weeks. I need to stay focused on that, but also know my change have to be a long term thing for my health. Stay strong and good luck tomorrow with getting back on track.

Thank you, and good luck to you on vacation. I'm going with my family to Disney, and I have to say I am glad that they have fruit to snack on. I won't lie, I all ready know I will be getting some churro's.

Here is to a healthier tomorrow!
  • 200 calories is nothing so don't worry too much about it. Also I'm sure you ended up burning more than that at the gym.
  • Don't worry too much about it Yes of course you need to be aware of what you did and need to be careful not to let it happen too often but it's not the end of everything! Just means a little extra work at the gym and you're all set
  • I have already gone way over my carbs for the day. Calorie count is fine, but I've managed to devour about 90g of carbs, coming around to 40% of my day's calories. I try to keep it under 40g/20%. Oh well. I'll keep the calories good and try again tomorrow.
