dogdays, I didn't see your post because you were posting when I was.

I agree no regrets with the picnic. I am SO glad that you are so much more healthier to have this surgery. Your recovery will be so much easier than had you NOT lost the weight. I am worried because surgery is a big thing, but you have a good attitude.

I have been busy cleaning all day, I took a green tea pill, and I decided I had energy and I was SICK of this place looking like a frigging dump. So I decided to do something about it.

Since I can't get the link to work I will just post here.

I stopped posting a while back because people became so negative. If anyone disagreed with them they would get very rude. I feel that this site should be about supporting each other and lifting others up in their time of need.

I am back and I hope that the negativity will be gone this time.

My story: I keep getting down to 200 and then something happens and I get back up to 225/230. At my heaviest I was just over 250 (I refused to weight myself back then).
I started a new journey this time. On April 11, 2013 I started to eat clean(er).
It was working!!!! I lost 8 lbs and it wasn't water weight. I was doing great and then on April 25th something very bad happened. My bulging disc in my lower back ruptured. The pain was worse than child birth. I had 2 sets of epidural spinal injections and they didn't work. Neurosurgeon said my spine looked like I had a baby in there (where the rupture is). So off to surgery I went (June 5th). I'm still in recovery, so no working out for me, yet I have still managed to lose 18lbs since April 11th. Even with 2 rounds of steroids. I only get to walk once around the cul-de-sac 4 times a day.
I refuse to weigh myself more than once a week, because this isn't all about a # on the scale, it is about being healthy and fit. I've learned that there are no magic pills, no crazy diet fads that are going to work. It takes hard work and a clean diet (meaning what you eat - not a "diet").
I've learned if you have time for FB or Candy Crush ... you have time to work out! Meal prep is key to successful healthy eating. Lifting weights won't kill you or make you bulky. And a positive attitude will give you success.

I'm sad that I got back to where I was before but I'm glad that I have gained this new knowledge.

I just wanted to share my story and hopefully find some new friends.

Sorry about the back. Wow that sounds so painful! I'm glad you are on the mend now and working towards recovery!

I just came back to 3FC after being away for a while. I've been back on the lifestyle change since November 7th, 2012 and I'm down 46 pounds and officially in ONEderland! (Just hit it!) It's been a struggle lately though. I feel I'm gaining and losing the same 5 pounds over and over again. Plateaus .. I hate them!

I really would like to get this group going again. I have lots of great info about eating plans and exercising. If this forum is dead then I might just delete my account. I'm getting a lot of support on a group on FB and I want to continue to share.

I'm hoping to break out of the 200s before I leave for Mexico on the 11th with my boyfriend. So stinking close I weighed in today at 201.8. bahhhhh
