" I want nothing but sweets!"

It seems no matter how hard I try all I want to eat is sweets! Even my drinks are loaded with sugar wether it be soda pop or koolaid or juice. Growing up my mother always fixed healhy meals and i ate till there wasn't much left. Now that I'm older I can't seem to keep up what I was taught when I was little. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to eat healthier without having to eat vegatarian burgers and tofu!

You could maybe start moving from soda to juice and then from juice onto something like smoothies. These are sweet and you get nutrients. Soda is just sugar mostly.

In terms of food I like fruit for sweetness. I also find carrots can be nice and sweet for me...

There is more to healthy eating than veggie burgers and tofu. I'm not a fan of tofu. I think it is worth finding foods you do like, what do you normally eat for breakfast lunch and dinner. Maybe find ways in making them healthily? White bread for wholewheat. Full fat milk to low fat or to soy milk. Add in more fruit or veg. Things like that.

I'm also a sugar addict, very bad. I think the approach to this really depends on your personality, and what you can do. The first thing I would highly recommend is ditching the soda. I think especially soda causes more sweet cravings - you keep wanting that sugar high. Like pp suggested, maybe switch to juice and wean from there.

Once you get rid of soda, it will be easier to resist sweets, I promise! I noticed once I got rid of the soda, other things like fruit tasted even sweeter to me, and hit that sweet craving. I think the soda is so overly sweet everything else pales in comparison.

I've done white knuckle, no sugar fasts too. It does help, but I can't keep it up long term. I like sugar too much :) I try to allow myself a little bit most days, even if it's just some nutella on whole wheat bread, and that helps keep my sugar monster tame.
