I ate the whole thing!

So I have been so good for the past month about staying on my eating plan I decided to treat myself and the kids to DQ. I got a Blizzard and was going to eat half of it...next thing you know...the cup is empty! I ATE THE WHOLE THING! my tummy hurts! But now I know why I don't eat DQ anymore. Lesson learned!:dizzy:

A deiciously painful lesson. I think I will stay way from the DQ. :)

That would set me off on a continued ice cream craving that would really be hard for me to get under control. So DQ is definitely out for me -- probably permanently!

If you are a calorie counter, there might be room for the occasional treat! I cycle my calories like this:

M - 1700
T - 1400
W - 2000
Th - 1700
F - 1400
S - 2000
Su - 1700

It equals 11,900 calories for the week which is the same as having 1700/day for 7 days. The 1400 days were tough at first, but having Saturday be a 2000 cal day is well worth it. Check out this link to figure your own Zig-Zag pattern:

Let me say though - that the saturated fat in DQ ice cream alone is enough to make me think twice!! I find more satisfaction in eating "extra" calories in nuts, lowfat cheese, whole wheat toast with almond butter, etc.

After the way my tummy felt when I was done - I don't think I will be doing that again any time soon. And to think I used to not even blink when I would eat a Blizzard...after I had eaten a 1,200 calorie combo meal (that's right - the chicken strip basket at DQ is almost 1,200 caloires!) GROSS!!! I still can't believe I used to just eat crap without even thinking about calories. I can't believe I didn't weigh 500 lbs. It is amazing the calories they can pump into that food. There should be a law againts it.

Thankfully I am not a big ice cream person. My husband's birthday is tomorrow and he requested a DQ ice cream cake - no problem - I can say no to that! However, I used to love the chicken strip basket but didn't realize all of the calories!!! I guess DQ is off limits for me. The fudge bars are supposed to be an ok treat but my location doesn't carry them!! Best for me to stay away!! Don't be too hard on yourself - you learned from it. And you also gave all of us a great reminder...thanks! :)
