Unhappy Starting my journey today

Well today I went to my first meeting at LAWL. I am very nervous about this journey...scared that I can't do this, but at the same time, if I don't try I will never know.

Hoping my family will help with this process...otherwise I am toast!

Any encouragement I can get will be helpful!

I'll send loads of encouragement your way then!

to the groups, make yourself at home. There is a LA Weight Loss forum here... somewhere. Biggest thing to remember is that if you have a couple of weeks where you don't lose much or you gain, realise that it's not the end of the road; occasionally there are potholes and bumps which test us and our resolve to lose the weight. Just pick yourself up and move on.

Have you told your family that you're starting LA Weight Loss or that you're going to eat healthier (never try to eat healthy, just eat healthy). Once you get them on your side, it'll be easy and you'll have your support system in place.

I have told my husband, and he is supportive, but he works out of town most of the time so it's just me and my 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter...and it's hard to try and explain to my kids that I need to lose weight, without stressing them out about their body image. *sigh*

Thanks for the encouraging words...I know I will need them, especially at the start!

Don't talk about the losing weight if that's your worry. Just tell them that you've got to eat healthy to stay healthy, and so do they!

Good luck!

I did LAWL some years ago but the center closed and I would have had to drive for an hour & a half to get to the closest center. It's a good program that works if you follow what they tell you. I did get tired of eating the bars after a while, I just couldn't force myself to gag them down. They do have other options than the bars, shakes, soups etc but eventually it got the same way. My advice to you is that once you go off the plan that you continue to eat healthy and don't over eat, otherwise you'll do like me and gain all the weight back.

Wishing you much success on this new way of life!!

Like Eumie wrote you do not need to talk about it if you do not feel doing it.
