A little about me and my journey. I am 36 and have battled weight my WHOLE life. There was about a year and a half in high school where I lost a lot of weight and could be considered "normal". But since then, it has been a steady upward climb in the weight. I remember vividly weighing 310 at the doctors in the summer of 1994, and my highest weight was 390 about 2 years ago. I have been following the Ideal Protein protocol since the beginning of Dec. and have lost almost 55lbs since I started. The premise of the protocol is to provide an unbalanced diet for a short time to allow your body the opportunity to heal the pancrease and liver. I eat an IP packet 3-4 times a day and these have the needed nutrients of protein, carbs, and fat. I also eat 5-7oz of lean protein or fish, 4 cups of veggies, and unlimited lettuce each day. I miss my pasta and desserts but the results are worth it. I loved participating in the challenge and look forward to the next one. Although I don't post often, I always read posts and I was cheering for each of you as you worked on your journey too. Have a great weekend and Happy Easter! |
