Grief = Emotional eating, not motivated to exercise.

Please someone kick me in the *ss. Tough love welcome. Sitting here feeling sad isn't going to change anything and I can feel myself slipping back to old habits.

You asked for tough love....

When I was in boot camp, there was one cadet training officer (those who made our lives h*ll) who used to get right by my ear when I was doing pushups...he would say "Are you quitting on me? I know you're quitting...Are you going to quit?" Years later I could still hear him in my head when working out.

Soooo, I ask you the same thing... Are you going to quit? Are you going to take all your postive progress and thow away all your hard work and have to start all over again at some point? Are you going to channel all your energy into eating? Are you going to not exercise just because you feel bad? Are you going to ignore that endorphins will make you feel a little better just because it takes a little work to get them? Acknowledge the bad feelings and then do things to control them. Exercise when you want to grief eat. Scream at fridge if you have to, vent at your snacks but don't eat them. Use the bad feelings for good. Use them to motivate you to workout.

OK, tough love done. Nice love now. We're all here for you if you want to vent. Stay strong! You can do this.

:kickbutt:

Was that enough or do you need another one? :kickbutt:

Sitting there feeling sad and eating by emotions will not get you the results you want to see!

Shake it off, get back on track. I know you can do it.

wow. that worked.

Ma'am! Butt kicks received Ma'am!

Read the posts, realized I would never survive military training and so the elliptical was the better option.

I report back that, although I did inhale a p&j sandwich, I've completed 45 min on elliptical, basic upper body free weights and basic stretches.

And I feel better. Not perfect. But better. lovely endorphins.

So thank you all. *Really*

Cheer up! If you mess up today just shake it off and start fresh again tomorrow. We all hit road blocks, but we all seem to get over it some how. Sending you lots of :dust:
