I tried to PM you but it won't let me send it to you. So we're match for biggest loser partners. Hi, I live in Kansas and just turned 30 this past December. I teach special ed in a high school but hope to go back to elementary next year. I getting married in June so I fully motivated. Today I went to boot camp at the YMCA. I'm calorie counting and trying to workout a least one time a day. :carrot: Is there a way to PM you?

Hi Teacher,
I tried to change my settings (and checked the FAQs) but doesn't seem to have an option for PM. I'd rather not post my personal email in the forum so... what am I missing? Sorry for the complications. BTW: I am also a teacher but of undergrads. Its my first year on the job and my learning curve is HUGE. I turn 35 at the end of the month -- which is a bit fraught for me -- and I don't look anything like my wedding photos any more! Which is my motivation these days -- I'm too young to look and feel this frumpy. Looking forward to TBL project over the next weeks. Thanks for your help with the PM. B. |

Thurs
Long day today on campus. But did five Tabata intervals plus warm up/cool down on the elliptical this morning. Is it possible to have a heart attack at 35 yrs???
Also walked a total of 20 minutes to and from far parking lot. Bloody cold! How did your day go? B. |

Hi Teacher1:
I did my 32 minutes today but had to decrease the HR intensity at about 17 minutes because I had an asthma attack coming on. I was ok to keep going at 70% (instead of mistaken 95% I did for first half! dumb). Taking the day off tomorrow to be with family but trying to build in some outside play with my children. Lifting, carrying, running, climbing toboggan hill etc will be my "exercise". Have a good weekend! B. |
Ah well, I did a wii fitness game- Golds Gym instead of the elip. Tomorrow I have boot camp at the Y which I'm dreading. It's a great workout but I'm the weak link and so it's kind of embarrassing. Enjoy time with your fam!!!

Sat: big fat nothing. unless you count carrying laundry up and down 2 flights of stairs.
Sun: 32 min elliptical (intervals); outside with kiddies in snow (pulling both on toboggan so that's 75 lbs weight through the snow); 15 min dance with kids after dinner (our "get them tired out before bed" technique) Ok food days. slipped a bit on sat (out of routine; easily accessible and tasty carbs) but today was good. B. |
Monday plan
1. I've packed a healthy lunch so food is covered
2. Will do 30 min on ellip before work (in anticipation of dept meeting frustration) 3. Will park in far lot so that adds 10 min walk both ways. See you at weigh in! B. p.s. how go the wedding plans? (only if you feel like sharing.....) |

Wedding plans are in full swing. I have my marriage prep retreat this coming up weekend. How'd your department meeting go? At work it's so crazy and I'm taking some spring classes. Ahhhh I'm counting down to Spring Break :) |

sounds like my work is like yours: crazy. crazy. crazy. Is it something in the education system? How long have you been a teacher?
I came home to a tantrum (my 4 year old, not me). So I ate three chocolate chip cookies (did I mention emotional eating???). But -- I did drag myself to the elliptical and did 30 min. Not my best work out but something. sigh. Tomorrow is another day. And congrats on your 1lb! (not "just"! It's a lot of calories burnt off!) 'night. B. |

Not sure about tomorrow yet. My future hubby had a death in the family and is getting ready to leave town so no marriage retreat this weekend. It might be a crazy couple of days to stay on plan. |

Sorry to hear about the family situation.... I would say though that dealing with this with your future hub *is* almost like a marriage retreat. It's this stuff that really tests the relationship. (sorry if that sounds all marriage-preachy...). Good luck with staying on plan. For me: - Did my 15 minute tabata routine and it almost killed me. But it is done for the day. - basic cool down stretches -- plan to do some real stretching about midday today to get the computer kinks out; maybe a walk with kiddies after dinner outside. Today I did a turbo jam DVD for 50 min.
I weighted in the same as last week- 201.Sorry :( My week was off with the death in the family. But I'm back and on track even making a big crock pot full of yummy veggie soup for the week. |

Hi Teacher 1,
Good to see you back. Unfortunately though, the similarities in our lives seem to continue: I'm on my way down to Family Land to say goodbye to my grandfather. He started to get "sick" after christmas and has declined really (really) fast. I'm hoping to make it there by Friday and be in time.... ug. I also have a funeral -- unrelated -- tomorrow. I'm about finished with the kleenex, let me tell you (trying to be stoic).... Anyway, all of which is to say that there has been some Emotional Eating on my side. I made bread....the scale still said 175 Monday morning but I think it was just being kind. I have exercised (Sat, Sun) but missed Mon and Tues. I don't need to go to campus Wed or Thurs so my plan is to catch up those days. Probably TMI but that's where I'm at right now. Best, B. |
Yikes, that's a lot going on in your life. I'm flaking tonight my leg hurts from yesterday so I'm taking a 1 day break.
