Children...

Can you return them if you still have the receipt??? lol

Sorry but they can just stresssssss me out. I have a pre-teen who knows EVERYTHING. His lamp has been on for 2 hours and now he wants to change out the colored bulb. I told him to wait til the bulb cools but he swears it wont burn him. :?:

Hey man, live and learn. Let him change it.

(This is the wrong forum for me...because I am, technically, still a children [18] BUT I couldn't resist.)

I thought the same thing. He argued with me and said he did it before. I told him to go do it then and find out. He didn't. I guess Mom DOES know a thing or two.

Let him burn himself.

Sooner or later, they have to learn themselves and you just have to sit back and say "OK, make an *** of yourself."

TracyB73 08-23-2009 07:44 AM

Yep I would have let him do it or tell him to hold your hand over the top of the lamp do you feel the heat rising off of it think what that will do to your hand, sometimes though they have to learn the hard way.

I have a pre-teen too! She can't believe I made it without her all these years. I told her I just stumbled around for years waiting for someone with infinite knowledge to tell me what to do... sheeshhhhh...

I have 2 teenage step daughters and let me tell you what - they know everything!!

Sometimes you just have to let them do something stupid and let them figure it out on their own.

Mine is 10 and he is so super smart. Reads anything and everything he can get his hands on. He is already taller than me and a large boy (he's almost 5'7 at 10!) so I get a bit lost and have to remember Im talking to an almost 11 year old. He LOVES to argue with me. *sigh* I know it doesn't get any better either.

And I thought my 3 year old had all the answers! lol She's one sassy little pumpkin.
