30 Somethings Daily Chat Wed 7/29

  • Morning all!

Today we are going on a field trip to the museum of natural history here on the college campus. It's a relatively inexpensive adventure ($10/family) and will go along with our history unit for my 2nd grader. It will be nice to get out!

Lunch will be left over spaghetti from last night. I made it with ground trukey and shredded up a big zucchini to hide in the sauce - Heh, heh - they never knew they were eating it!

I hope to get out and down the trail a couple of miles this afternoon. We'll see if the weather holds!

    Have a wonderful Wednesday!!
  • Mornin' ladies!

Mortonpixie - You're so , I love it! I like zucchini so it wouldn't be a problem for me Have fun at the museum!

TODAY is my LAST day of work for the week. I'm off tomorrow to entertain a friend who's visiting and then Friday morning I'm OFF to the BIG APPLE!

I haven't started to pack yet but my packing list is almost complete!

3:30 is NOT coming fast enough!?!?!
  • Mmm zucchini in spaghetti sauce! brilliant

Yesterday evening was quite fun for me. I got the Wii Active. Me likey! And I got pink highlights put in my hair. I've had them before but missed them. I feel so spirited and ready to conquer all
  • I'm off work tomorrow as well... today I am going to plan another canoe trip tomorrow. Sunday, I took my 12 year old on a 9 mile canoe trip to an Indian mound out in the Delta. Saw a gator, snakes, lots of Blue crane.
Best of all, I spent 5 hours burning calories.

Perhaps we should wait till Saturday and go on an over night trip where you sleep out on the floating platforms along the Bayou.
  • Hello everyone!

I am new here but I wanted to say hi

Ok, I'm 29, but I see more myself here in this section than the 20 something one. Am I alowed?

Yep - grated that puppy up and sauteed it with the onion while browning the ground turkey...muah ha ha ha ha!
  • Good morning ladies! I am proud of myself, I have been trying to get back in the mode of getting up in the morning to get ready to go back to work (I teach) so have been setting my alarm in the morning to get up and exercise. I am 2 for 2 so far! I am going to push it back an hour next week to see if I can keep it up, I have always had a hard time transitioning and keeping up with my exercise when I go back to school, but this year I am going to do it!!!!!!

I love the idea of grating zucchini!! I have put it in sliced up before, but the kids (and my husband) can always pick it out. I have also put broccoli in spag sauce, it's delicious!!! Can't hide it very well though...

Wifey, have fun in NY! I've never been, it sounds like a great time

SlimmingDownSouth - I can't imagine canoeing by a gator! *shudder* up here we worry about getting too close to a moose when we canoe, but they don't have huge teeth!

Everyone else, have a great day!

Hahaha I know, Samantha is so funny
    That episode was hilarious
  • Willa, what is that from? I don't recognize it.

    Mamatoni, Welcome back!!
  • It's from Sex and the City
In an episode where Samantha is jealous of girls in their 20's
The melon part is because she's about to cut it but replies to the girls that they should go away with their big ''melons'', and throw one to them, and it ends up in a window
  • Welcome, Willa - you're cracking me up!
  • Thank you!
(I know it's for yesterday, but I wanted to say thank) :P
