Hi all - I'm back!
I will try to catch up on all the posts! Today is ds' 21st Birthday!:hb: I've only read this week's posts so far. Karen - hooray on the excellent loss! Pryia - I like your idea for the week. Elisa - Hooray on the 140's and also on the house - so cool that you are 10 minutes from the beach - I love the beach. L&F - great that you know how to sew - I'm trying to learn. Lyssa - I have said a prayer for you. Jul - good luck at your show this week. I am happy to be home again - I've got tons to do, but will catch up with everyone as I can. OK - I read some more posts.:) Lyssa - hooray for the 2 pounds lost and on the wrap skirt! ~ I bought my lemons this morning for my lemon water. L&F - Like the idea of your BIRTHDAY MONTH! RR - enjoy your cruise!! Pryia - Woohoo on the super loss!! Rabbit starting over on this - OP since |
Hey all, I am back up to 165. Maybe my scales have a catch in them that won't let it weigh less than 165. I am not worried, because I know I am doing everything right, including exercise, and besides, I think I am shrinking even if the scales are frozen. Muscle weighs more than fat!!! And muscle is what we want instead of the fat.
I am however having a hard time with increasing my calories. If you aren't hungry, it is hard to make yourself eat. But I am working on it. Maybe, I will just combine my snacks this afternoon. Eggs, FFcheese, FFham, and salsa, that would be a great snack for me. As a matter of a fact, I think I will eat that now instead of my lunch, and have my sandwich later as my snack. :) Thank you all for your prayers, I am sure it is nothing, but I do need to have it checked out. I will tell you what's up as soon as I know if it is even anything to really worry about. Rabbit - Don't worry about catching up, we are just glad you are back. BPB - Please post, we love you. Nanci - Hope you are feeling better today. Elisa - I did look at the rest of your house, it is really nice. And so close to the beach!!! I think any property, anywhere, close to a beach would be high, I think you got a steal. I am sure you are going to love it. I would give anything to have a house of my own. I am part owner of my house (my brother the other owner), but since I don't own it out right, it really complicates doing anything to improve the house. Someday though, I will be posting about where ever it is we will move to. Congrats, and good luck. Jul - Have a nice trip to Oklahoma. I bet those shows are fun. I know I enjoy going to art shows, just don't get to do it as often as I like. Hope everyone else is having a great day. I better go eat, or I never will!!! |
Wow, y'all - just reread the beginning of this post and it is pretty sad and sorry, but this is where it's at! Gonna just hold my head high and plow onward!
Sorry not been around more. Bit of a slump here. My company is in serious trouble. Plus, still don't like the job. (So why don't you get a new one???). Hey great idea - must get on that. Have a genetic eye disorder in my family which causes progressive loss of sight. They think I may have it. Have to go to the specialist, but it takes a few months to get an appointment. There is no treatment, there is no cure. Been eating a ton - no exercise (including running) since saturday. Behind on everything. Up about 3 lbs. Went to see a condo open house. $243K for 600 sq feet of basement ugly. Hmmm. Other than that, things are great:lol: I know that there are some things I have no control over. Others, however, I can do something about! So: Plan is to get in all my H2O (the secret key to a great life) and 2 fruits and 3 veggies and a 1 mile run tomorrow. Plus, spend 30 min working on the "job thing". Other than that, I am giving myself the day "off". My life is good in a lot of ways - must focus on those and do what I can about the areas that need improvement - don't dwell on the negative! Jul: great on the exercise! Woo hoo 171 - I can hear the 160's sneakin up behind ya! Have fun in OK Karen: Yeay on the loss! You are doing great. Nanci: Congrats on the maintain! 28 WOW - I was just there but have creaped back up a little. Will join you again soon (although I hope you will be gone) Lyssa: You are in my thoughts. Yeay on going down in size! Keep up all the great work. Don't worry about 1 bad w/e - you are making so many improvements. (RS = richard simmons tape) LBH: Beaches in NJ? Never heard of such a thing - that would be like saying there are beaches in canada  BPB: Just keep shoping - when in doubt - always go shoping! Rabbit: Happy bday to ds! Best of luck on the new start RR: Have a great time on the cruise! LOL - the tickets to MY emotional rollercoaster are outrageous - and I am not even pg! Hope the recital was fun. Elisa: Yeay on the 150's!!!! You have deserved it for a while - the house looks great. Enjoy. Meikka: Oh - it is not easy when you have so many events going on - enjoy the anniv and mothers day. Remember - if you drink enough wine, you will forget to eat! Pryia: Congrats to ds for bball game. Great op and losing!!! I know what you mean - I don't like to force the points in late either - I save them for "weekend treats":D LOVE the rasp ice stuff! Have a great week all! |
Lauren: They did send her home with me same day because I have a crate for her to stay in on the front porch (or in the house) and because I promised not to put her in her kennel which is currently full of mud because of all the huge rain storms we've had. Shes doing very well. She is going to board at the vets for the weekend while we are gone to Oklahoma. She really hasn't been up to walking so I fear that I've lost my urge to get out and walk.
Its been crazy around here this week. I've packed 10 orders so far and will probably have 5 more to pack tonight. Thats alot for one week. I'm headed up to the Springfield Library in a little while, they have a local artist gift shop and need a few more items. I'm going alone so I plan to spend some time in the magazine room and just relax. Rabbit are you anywhere near Mt Vernon IL??? Is that town very large? Bailey: Sorry about the eye situation. I understand your fear concerning it. I have a condition too and so far have 2 blind spots in my right eye. They are small so I don't notice it very much, except when reading, but there is a chance that I will continue to develope these. Take care. I better get on with the day, jul |
Hi everyone, I'm still having a hard time keeping up with all the posts. Work has been kind of busy so haven't had a lot of time to play on the computer. My scale is not moving but I'm hoping to see something by Sunday. This weekend is going to be crazy. Friday night we're going out for dinner and drinks with friends. Saturday is the annual Beach Bike-a-Thon to raise money for Ovarian Cancer. We get around 200 bicyclists together to go from bar to bar and get wild and crazy. It's an all day event but I promise I'm only allowing myself three drinks and the rest will be water. Then Sunday I'm flying to CA to spend 1 1/2 weeks in Sacramento for work. I'm looking forward to getting away but it's going to be a real test for the diet. Nothing like per diem and an awesome steakhouse next door to the hotel to screw up my plan. Did I mention the hotel has free breakfast (anything you want) and free alcohol from 5-7 pm?? I'm in big trouble!!!! At least they have a small gym where I can get some treadmill and stairclimber time in. :D
Pry, thanks for your inspiring post title this week. My good deed for myself each night so far has been to take a 40 minute bike ride around the neighborhood to explore some new areas. Karen, Wow!! 4 lbs?? How do you do it? Don’t you just love allergies?? My gardenia bush is blooming like crazy and I cut off a bunch of flowers to bring inside. Of course, they make me sneeze but they smell so good. Elisa, congrats on breaking thru!! Doesn’t it feel great?? I can’t wait until I can see 149 on my scale. Only 8 more lbs to go. I loved your house. The floors are beautiful and I like the wild green color. I wish I were brave enough to do some colors in my house. Meikka, I love Super Walmart!!! It’s the best place to make money disappear. Lys, my prayers are with you. I hope everything is okay. Sorry about the off weekend but just realize that life is going to be like that. So long as you can remember to go back to your healthy ways as soon as you can you’ll be fine. Don’t let the scales get you down. That was the most frustrating part for me when I started exercising. The important thing right now is to watch your measurements and the scale will catch up. Jul, where at in OK?? I’m originally from Tulsa. I still have my family there so I go home to visit every once in awhile. I like FL much better though. Nanci, hope you’re feeling better. I was like that last night and DH had his softball games so the house was quiet. It was wonderful. BFB, put the ice cream away and get back on it!! At least you’re still checking in so we haven’t completely lost you. Rabbit, did DS survive the big 21? How big is his hangover today?? Bailey, sorry to hear you’re in a slump. It happens to the best of us. Remember it was you just recently being the posting queen and inspiring so many of us. Thanks to you I’m reaching for new goals. I’ll keep you in my prayers regarding your vision. One of my good friends has that disease. It hasn’t slowed him down much and all of his friends are very understanding and helpful. He’s got a great sense of humor about it. I'm missing you over in the exercise/food posts. It's awful lonely. :( Hi to everyone I missed!! |
Hi All
I found a 44 oz. mug at the $1 store. I have figured out that if I drink 2 of them every day, I will more than meet my water intake, and besides, it is dishwasherable. Maybe that will help me remember to drink my water every day.
Liz - I guess busy is better than bored. I definitely remember that I am shrinking even if the scales don't reflect that. Dh is getting smaller too. I think we are the incredible shrinking couple  . You just remember the same. Good luck on your up coming trip. Remember to make as wise of choices as you can while you are away. And I think your exercise will help make up for it all. Have fun. Jul - Ginger will be well soon, and then you can go back to running. Sounds like your business is keeping you busy anyway. Hope you enjoyed your trip to the Library, sounds relaxing. Bailey - I am so sorry you're having a rough time. I will keep you in my prayers. Maybe the dr.'s are wrong. I hope the tests show up negative. Keep up when you can, and don't worry about it the rest of the time. Just remember that you are loved. Hope everyone else is having a wonderful day. |
Liz: I have family in Odessa and Tulsa. We'll be going down to Lawton - maybe. They are expected to have thunderstorms all weekend and I'm scared to death of tornados (they just don't mix well with a light dome tent and glass). - jul

Hi all! I am back OP now that I am home - once again I did not count points while I was gone. And I'm back on my workout routine - did my hour this morning.:)
Lyssa - sounds like a good snack idea you had yesterday. ~ Good luck on your water. I measure mine out every morning to make sure I get it all in. Bailey - sorry to hear about the eye disorder - hope you don't have it. Hang in there. ~ Good luck on the job thing! Jul - I'm not sure about Mt. Vernon - I will check the map. Liz - good luck on your trip! Sounds tough, but you can do it. ~ Florida is a beautiful state - I certainly enjoyed the beach & the ocean while I was there. ~ DS did survive his 21st fine, I imagine. I have not talked to him today, only emailed. Anyway, he doesn't drink so I'm sure there was no hangover (I am not being a naive parent :) although it may sound far-fetched to not drink on your 21st!) Also he is in the middle of finals (that probably would not stop lots of kids, I know!)-he had a final on his bday, but he said luckily it was his easiest one, Logic. Have a great day all! Rabbit OP since 5/7/02 |
Hi everyone!
BPB, We miss you! You need to start visiting us more often :-) Rabbit, I bet the DS had a fun bday. Bailey, I am so sorry that you are having a rough time. It is hard when it feels like everything is going wrong. Jul, Boy those orders are keeping you BUSY. Liz, Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. Be careful when you are out of town for work. That is always hard for me. Lyssalou, Good job on getting the H20 holder. That will be nice to just have it out of the way. Take care everyone! |
hello everyone,
I'm new here, so thanks Lauren and Pryia for inviting me here! I am starting this week with what I KNOW (ahem) will be my final 20 pound diet stretch towards my goal (which is an ideal 56 kilos, how much is that in pounds?). After my holiday last week, I consider this new start my special thing for myself, because I know it will make me healthier and leave me feeling good about myself. Fortunately, my boyfriend is supporting me, too but he thinks I should be able to lose 16 pounds this month: This makes me kinda   , because I know it's not healthy and anyway it's easy for him to say because he's a former athlete and although he's in comparatively mediocre shape right now, he's still THIN THIN THIN!!!!!! It's not fair! Anyway, I am gonna do it. I've just been away for a week, it here being Greek Orthodox Easter week to the island of Santorini (if you ever have the chance Lauren, go! it's one of the most beautiful places on God's earth that I know!) eating just about anything (lots of salt and junkfood). This made me feel awfully bloated and bad-tempered. Anyway, This month I want to lose 10 real, non water pounds, so I can finally wear my nice skirts agan that keep staring at me from their hangers in the closet.... BigPhatBooty, YOU CAN DO IT! let's do it together and keep each other posted on how we're doing. Love to you all from overseas (it's a small world!) and God Bless! Greekgirl from Athens, Greece |
Hi Everyone!
My crazy week continued!! We had the house then we didn't then we did and now it's finally a done deal. The short version of the story is just that we had the house inspection and overall it went very well but there were some roof problems and we wanted to get some money back for that and anyway it looked like it might be the end of it but now it's all taken care of. The paperwork is unbelievable. I'm working on the mortage papers and then we have to decide on life/mortgage insurance and get the proper house insurance. Then we meet with our lawyer and then maybe that's the bulk of it??? It's okay because it's quite exciting. Thinking about packing is scary and it's so soon!! The weight's going okay still. I'm floating around 148 which is so great for me. I really never want to cross that 150 line again. And since I tend to be able to gain 3 or 4 pounds easily I'll be more comfortable when I get to 145 (which was my first goal!!) knowing I should never go back again! Greekgirl - good luck with your goals!! Drop by anytime for help or motivation. If you only need to lose 20 pounds in total it might be tough to lose 10 in one month but you never know, it's certainly possible. Let us know how you're doing. Rabbit - glad you're back on doing your workout - how's it all going? Lyssa - how's the water drinking going? That's something I still struggle with. I drink more than I used to but it's very sporadic and it's nowhere near what I need to be drinking. Bailey - how are you doing these days? You've been so inspiring and motivating in the past I hope that we can help you. You've done so well on the weight loss front that I know you can get back on track. I sat at the same weight for 3 months but I didn't give up and neither should you. I really hope you receive some better new soon about the eye disorde - sounds very scary. Do many of your family members have it? I really should get some work done so have a good day! Elisa |
HI. :)
Had another good op day - I do so much better at home & have been gone a lot lately. I'm having family over this weekend for mother's day & ds' birthday. :D Greekgirl - Welcome!:D Good luck on your goals. Santorini sounds beautiful. Elisa - so happy for you that your weight is going well! Would LOVE to be in the 140s! One of these days.:) Rabbit OP since 5/7/02 |
Hello all!!!!!I am back from the land of sleep and nausea!!!Took a 2 hr nap when I got home from work and feel revitalized!!!Had my appointment on Tues...all is well..baby growing and doing good!!!!!My due date is now Dec 19th!!!!
Hello to all....off to pack and get ready for my ANniversary with my husband!!!!!!! Vicki |
:) Vicki I am glad that you got that nap in! I hope the nausea goes away soon. That is the wosrt part. My doc said to eat crackers dry. LOL and how do you swallow them without and water?
Greekgirl what a wonderful place to live. Nice sunny weather even. I seem to do alot better with the better weather. Rabbit way to be OP. Isn't it a great feeling? I seem to do better when my hubby is out of town. I guess because then I make the DS a quick dinner and with hubby here I make real food! I do love it when he notices that I am losing it is a great feeling. Elisa I am so happy for you getting the house. You will be so happy having your own place. DH and I just bought a place so I can be closer to my son. I love having a house that we bought together. The other place he bought with an ex gf. Bailey I am sorry about you having a hard time. May I ask about the eye problem? I am concerned about my sight. I am having a hard time with my right eye. Even with glasses it is blurry all the time. If I close the left eye even with my glasses I can barely read the post. It has gotten alot worse the last couple of years. I was told that I will eventually lose site in it but no guarantee when that will be and no name for it. I don't have dark spots but blury is still bad. It scares the He** out of me at times. Ok I hope everyone else is having a great day. Oh I did a 3 mile walk yesterday. I was going to walk today but babysat at 7 am and the when she left had my kids here and Jason DH wont be home until late. Grrrrrrr Oh well, Daphne |
well we just got back from ww. I was down 3.4 and dh was down 1.4. We are doing well!
Greekgirl, Welcome! Greece is somewhere that is definately on my travel wish list. We are talking about 2 yrs from now. I will probably be picking your brain. Elisa, It sounds like things are moving right along with the house. My advise is to start the packing now and as Lauren said PURGE! Rabbit, I am so with you. It is much easier staying on plan when you are at home. I am really looking forward to our two weeks in Mexico but I am starting to get stressed about it as well. I really want to do ok while I am there. RR, I am so glad to hear that things are going well with the baby. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest. I am crossing my fingers that the nausea passes quickly for you. Dabrat, I do much better in the nice weather as well. If it weren't for my family and friends I would definately be living somewhere that got sunshine for more than two months out of the year. Hope everyone has a great friday. |
