Hi chicks,

I was feeling a little down as I can't go to my spin class tonight as the baby has a fever so I shouldn't drop her off at the gym daycare. She seems okay, just hot and very sleepy.

Being able to get a 3 fat chicks signature and ticker has really cheered me up though. As did the fact that my new scales said 139.2 today! I am really pleased that I have lost 6 pounds in 4 weeks of dieting.

gracesmommy, congrats on your loss!! hope your LO feels better. It is so sad when they are sick. :(

yana, :welcome2: About a month ago I started using a sticker chart for myself. It has worked really well for me personally. I get a sticker if I exercise that day and a different sticker if I stay OP (eating-wise) that day. I had a hard time defining OP, but decided that the easiest, most flexible way for me is calorie counting.

I am amazed at how active everyone is and wanted to say good job.

Yana welcome I myself am still new but I love it!

ok to my dismay I can not find any of my pictures newer than Dec. 2006. I'm trying to not freak out until my Hubby can take a look. Anyway here is a pic of my son and his best friend from Dec. of 06. they had just turned 3.

Sunshine, have you done the water aerobics before? I did it when I was pregnant the first time...lots of fun, but felt very whale-like at the time (I was 8 mo. preg. and DS ended up being 10 lb 7 oz so I was HUGE). I'd like to try it again now that I'm not preg. anymore. Is your pool an indoor or outdoor one?

Hi MamaToni. :)

Yes, I've done water aerobics before. I rather enjoy it. I just need to do it on a regular basis.

I have 3 kids. Each time I was pregnant, I kept up with my swimming. It was the only activity in which I felt light. :) I did a lot of water aerobics then as well.

10lbs. 7ozs.??? Ouch! My last one was 9lbs. 13oz. so I share your pain. ;)

I say go for it. I give the advice and need to take it as well. I'm gonna check their schedule ASAP. The pool in my area is outdoors. My cousin has one near her house that's indoors.

It all depends if I'll do this alone or with my cousin. Either way, I need to "Just Do It!", as NIKE says. No more excuses.

I got my siggy approval today!!! YAY!!! I thought I would post and test it out. Sounds like you all had busy a busy day. The good news is my throat feels better... the bad news is that I have such a pain in my lower calf, I feel like I'm gonna die. I called the MD and they said that if it didn't feel better soon to go to the ER for some tests. I started the pill about 4 months ago so I'm praying it's not a blood clot.

Anyway, I'll see how I feel tomorrow morning. If it's still killing me (sharp burning sensation) I will go to the hospital.

Hope you're all doing better than me... LOL :)

Good Evening Chickies!!!!

Today was a much better day for me... went on an eliptical machine for 30 minutes ... quite the experience I must say. I think I may try it again tomorrow.
I am staying in my range for calories too... this calorie counting is addicting... I should have started doing this a loooooooong time ago, and I might not of been in this boat.
My brother and his family came over tonight... and brought pizza. I was a good girl and only ate 2 small pieces. We are going on vacation w/them next month and were chit-chatting about our plans. Getting excited about that.

Welcome to the newbies... I am a newbie as well. It is lots of fun here. The ladies here are a great bunch.

Hi chicks, Had another b-ball game tonight, we'll play for the championship Thurs. night then we start All-Stars, woo hoo, I'm beside myself with joy:cry:

Got a couple of good runs in last night and tonight, my shins are still killing me and the knees are weak but I think I'll make it through it. I worked in the yard all day, mowing and pulling weeds. Power was out for a few hours for road const., had to move power lines I guess, so I had a great excuse for staying out all day. Plan to pull weeds and work on clearing the other side of the creek too the rest of this week, but we are expecting a heat wave, so it may not be quite as much fun as I think.

:congrat:, to all the newbies, you found a great place to be!

Toni, good for you getting your ride in with the kids, thats a heckuva workout!

Pam, sounds delish, my family isn't so big on meatballs, I don't know why, I love em!

Alicia, I wonder if you and I are related. We are both so accident prone. I "fall" up the stairs all the time, my DH thinks I'm losing all capacity to function normally:crazy: what does he know? Hope you don't hurt too long

Kerry, I Love to mow, my body doesn's love me to do it neither do my sinuses but I do it anyway and then pay the piper later.

Gotta go, dogs are moaning, probably means no one let them out while I was gone to the game and running, funny how I'm the only one that knows how to work a doorknob:chin:

Hollymommy, sounds like you are off to a good start on your weightloss journey! 20 minutes is better than none at all. So what is Family Fun Walk?
Kerry,

Sorry! I called it a Family Fun Walk - I guess the real name is Family Fitness Walk. Recently our town decided we were all not very healthy people (based on statistics) and had a Health Fair and different activities. The fitness walk is a bunch of people who signed up to walk every Monday and Thursday. We have a log we are supposed to keep track of our miles, and everyone is supposed to wear these free TShirts they gave us. We have only made it 3 times, but we try. Our town has a concrete bike path that runs all through it that is used for the walk. We actually walk on the path from our house to the park to sign up - it's about a 1/4 mile. Last Thursday my kids and I walked 3 miles. At the end they are having a celebratin and giving prized for the most miles walked, etc. It's kinda fun. Just hard fitting it into my schedule.

Holly, nope no low fat recipe...it actually is the veal, beef & pork mix like Karen said. My son & DH love my meatballs. I usually only eat one. And the sauce I make only has the fat from the meat in it (which I skim off the majority of) and I only use EVOO in the beginning to saute the garlic. I make it about once a month & freeze a lot...makes dinner easy.
Pam,
Is this recipe posted in the recipe section? It sounds like it would help me, we have spaghetti about once a week, but it's just the stuff in the jar...

Kerry, enjoy mowing the lawn (did you know that cut grass is an aphrodisiac?) I read that somewhere, though it was kinda funny. Never has that affect on me.
Toni,
I don't know if it has that effect....but since my husband rarely mows the lawn (we have 4 boys, he usually makes one of the older boys do it) when he does I will joke with him "You have never been more sexy to me than you are right now" when he come in sweaty and covered with grass. And then he'll laugh because he knows it's not him all sweaty that I'm talking about, but the fact that he's actually mowing the lawn!! :D
