  • Morning everyone,
Just a quick note to wish everyone a Happy Hump day! Hope you all stay op and cool. Have to get a quick workout in and then get ready for my interview this morning. Not much else planned for the day. Want to finish cleaning house today. But dh told me that when his kids and him are here that I am not to be cleaning. So guess I will have to wait until after their ball game this evening to clean. Seems that when it is my TOM, he has his too!
    Well have a great day!
    Later,
    Kerry
  • Morning all...walked the mutt again...to answer your question Kar...our walk is about 1.5 miles. Not very far...i really need to get back to the gym...but its nice to have a walk with the hubby and mutt in the morning. Its relaxing.

Work is ok. Its been very very busy but what else is new.

Wanted to say hi to the newbies. You'll find it a great place. As for what does everyone uses to help loose weight..i've been calorie counting and exercising a lot. It really has helped so far.

Hannah-glad to hear Sean is doing so well. I remember last summer. What a change from last year. Glad to hear. Take care of yourself and remember to take some time for your health.

    Alright...got to run. Bye all.
  • here again
Thanks for the nice hellos! Kerry- I am finding the same thing with Slim Fast so you have just reinforced my thoughts. I knew I was hungry- a lot more than usual. My husband and I talked last night and he agreed I could start paying for WW again. I have the stuff but I really feel I need to start out with the meetings again.

Alicia (I believe that was the one): I used to teach in Herndon, now in Fairfax. But we live out in Bristow in Prince William Co. Busy place, lots of people, lots of stress. We would like to move as soon as the housing market changes again.

Thanks for all your support and kindness. In a few weeks, I will begin WW meetings again so we will see how it goes from there. Once school is out, the little kiddos will still be in daycare 3 days a week so maybe I can finally get in some exercise too.

    Thanks to all, Erin
  • 362638 - Welcome!

    Mcmommy - Welcome!

    Glad you both joined us!

Kerry, Uh, OK, is that a good thing that you're not to be cleaning? Does the house clean itself?

The heatwave is over!!! It was 70 in the car this AM and it's going up to the 80's. Still hot, but bearable. I didn't start melting the second I got out of the shower. Had some nasty thunderstorms last night, a lot of lightning, but mostly heat lightning.

    Have a great day all!
  • HI Everyone!

362638 welcome, make yourself at home!

GG I am sorry Work is crazy!

Welcome Mcmommy this is the best place to be!

Lisa sorry work is so crazy! do you have a couple of days (in a row) off coming up?

Hi Lauren I am glad the heat is over!

Yesterday I did go to the cooking class, I felt so bad, I had to pick my friend up and I was late, I was rushing, I hate to be late! the class was very good, we made a raspberry upside down cake among other stuff, it was so good! it had almond paste in it. The other stuff was good but nothing out of the ordinary, I was very happy the class was only $29. The afternoon was good too!
I was very happy to find a vintage knitting pattern I have been looking for for ever!
Food wise I am doing great! I didn't feel like doing something to time consuming for dinner and didn't want to go out either, so I defrosted some chicken breasts and I found in the pantry a bottle of salsa verde, I don't usually eat salsa verde, DH got it and I didn't even know it was there! so I poured it onto the chicken and baked it, it was so fast and simple, and omg it was wonderful! DH really liked it too!

Today I am just going to take it easy and I have a bipolar support group meeting at 12.

    I will be here!

    Hanna
  • Hi Everyone,
Sounds like everyone is having a good day today! I went to my interview this morning. It ended up being a 90 minute one. I go back tomorrow for training for the next three days. It is selling Cutco products. So I guess I will see how well it goes. If not, I have nothing to lose.
GG, a walk is a walk in my book. Especially taking your mutt along, great restatince with the leash. Hope work goes well for you today!
Lisa, sorry to hear that work has been a pain here lately. Hopeful it gets better soon. Thanks for the info. I will see how this other one pans out. If not, than I will try the Chillicothe store.
Hanna, glad that you enjoyed your cooking class yesterday. Your chicken for dinner sounds yummy! Those recipes that are fast and just thrown together sometimes are the best ones!
Lauren glad to hear that your heat wave is over too. It is 82 out there right now. It is really nice out. Might just enjoy the boys' ball game this evening after all. As for the house cleaning, I guess I am to do that when no one is home but me. So I guess that would be in the evenings sometimes.
Erin, I am a teacher too. I teach Multi-handicapped students in grades 6 through 8th. What grade do you teach? I am starting my 11th year teaching. Glad that you are going to start going back to WW's in a couple weeks. That should help with your weight loss journey.
Welcome to our group, 362638! Looking forward to getting to know you in the next few weeks!
Hi to everyone else. Hope you are having a great day!
    Later,
    Kerry
  • back again...
Kerry- I currently teach 4th/5th grade learning disabilities...I taught AUT, MR and severe disabilities for three years but when I had my first child, I needed something less demanding...diapers at school and then more at home was a little taxing. Good luck with the Cutco products...I thought about a summer or side job but can't handle the stress right now....

I hope WW meetings will help me get on track again. I had started reading some books by Geneen Roth- don't know if anyone is familiar..she is actually anti-diet but basically she talked a lot about emotional eating and issues...well, I just plain like food...so it didn't really help me because I didn't have any deep dark pain to reveal. Thanks so much for all your support. I look forward to learning more about you all on this site.Take care everyone! -Erin
  • Hey all,

Just a quick pop in. Been very busy lately, since Cady is done school. Thankfully it is a much nicer day today, and is expected to be fdor the next week at least.

Frank didn't finish the game last night, they had to call it b/c of lightning, so they will finish the last inning tomorrow night before th championship...his team is down 10-12...keep your fingers crossed, he is so hoping they can pull it off. Hopefully the extra day of practice and lower humidity tomorrow will give them a miracle!!

    Okay, gotta go start dinner.

Welcome to all the newbies, and hope everyone else starts checking in soon!!!

    Later,
    Pam
  • Hi Chicksters!

Sorry to have been MIA lately but life is busy around here with three little gremlins out of school. We've been having a great summer; so relaxing and FUN! I've gotten into the habit of walking at the h.s. track during the evening and last night the whole family went. It was great to see everyone out exercising. WW is going well. I feel focussed and am approaching the whole thing in a very realistic way. Time to go and pick up DS from a birthday party. Talk to everyone soon ~ Joan
  • Welcome back Kerry! Also, forgot to say howdy to Erin ~ it's great having you join us!
  • evening all...well work is crazy..but in a good way. Its really our busy season. Yesterday, I was a little frustrated by something dealing with cooperate crap. But it has been resolved. I found out today...we might have a third doctor join our hospital. And if so, then we would always have 2 doctor days, our staff would increase in number...and we would start doing split shifts. In other words one dr would come in from 8-5 and the other 10-7. So it sounds like maybe if things work out...i might start having a life again LOL...probably also would start having more weekends off. I really don't want to get too excited until it happens however.

Joan- glad you are having fun with the kids. Is your daughter still involved in the horses? Once a horse person always a horrse person....speaking from experience LOL.

    hey to all else.
  • Evening!

Stoppin' by to say hi. Hope everyone is well! Nothing exciting is going on here. I'll be back at work tomorrow.

    Talk soon!
    Alicia
  • Evening All,
Just got back from the boys' ball game. They won it 2-4. So it was nice to see them all happy. I guess we have tournements on Monday and Tuesday evening next week and then we are done for the season. Yeah!!! Don't get me wrong, I love watching my stepkids play. But I just can't stand the one set of parents who don't have a clue about the game and then jump into everyone's conversations. The mother offended me last Friday night by asking what grade I teach and put down the whole public education system. So I try to stay away from her in the stands.
I signed up to get an Ab Rocket to try for 30 days today. So I am looking forward to trying that out. Maybe it will help reduce my middle fat roll.
GG that would be great if they hired another doctor. Then that would take off some of the work load from you, right?
Alicia, hope work goes well for you tomorrow. Where are you working at again?
Hi to everyone else. Well since no one is at the house right now, I guess I could try cleaning a little bit. I think I am only going to clean for about an hour and then call it quits for today.
Chat with you all tomorrow. Have a great evening!
    Later,
    Kerry
  • Kerry, I forgot to answer you earlier....I work as a Caregiver. I did it last year and I loved it. I don't like the hours I have now though. Its 3 days straight and then 3 off. I am going to keep it untill I find something else -hopefully soon. By day 3 I am so homesick its just awful. BTW, let us know how the ab rocket is. Good luck with cleaning, its just never ending, ya know.

I think I'm gonna do a few more things around the house then off to bed.

    Talk later!
    Alicia
  • GG ~ yes indeed, my Annie lives and breathes horses. She goes to lessons once a week and she's becoming quite the pro when it comes to posting and trotting LOL. She is determined to be a large animal vet someday. We'll see... It'll be interesting to see if she does since she is such a determined child.

Alicia ~ hope that something else comes along shortly. I can't imagine how hard it would be to be away from your family that long. I'd be miserable too!
