Hi all --

I am in the process of reading back (feel free to recommend places for me to go to read up as well), but I am new to 30 and wanting to get back to it.

I turned 30 in October -- I had gained back 40 of the 60 pounds I had lost in the past few years and vowed to be at my lowest for my 31st. Fast forward a month and I am in the hospital for a week after being back on South Beach and am diagnosed with ischemic colitis (similar to Chrone's and ulcerative). Yes, I am only 30! Up until last week I was o 3 different meds and still couldn't eat raw fruits & veggies! As a matter of fact, I was told to eat PROCESSED foods .

I had a few bumps in the road and in a span of 2 weeks in February, I was in a car accident (hurt my shoulder), my mom passed away, I moved and I switched jobs (phew!) but am finally back on my feet.

June 1 I plan on getting back on the South Beach plan, bathroom trips or not.

I am married (DW is only 28, heh) and have 2 furbabies. My life is an open book, so just ask!

I hope to be online nights and stick to it this time, as I did for my first 60. I hope to be in a size 12/L shirt (since my b00bs never shrink ) By January 1 of 2009.

Glad to see you on here. I just joined a short time ago. I like this group because it is women my age going through the same thing I am. It is great.

The group here is terrific.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother, and about everything you've been through. My youngest sister started having intestinal issues between about age 12 and 14. The doctors went between it being Crohn's and IBS. I think they finally settled on IBS. I just know how awful it is for her (and she is now almost 30). I know your condition isn't one of those, but you said it's similar. {{{Hugs}}}

I've tried South Beach a few times myself and I just can't do it. I am pretty sure I have found my home using Weight Watchers. Kudos to you for sticking it out on the Beach!
